  • Venus Speaks: An ode to Jenny

Me Aged 37 - channelling my inner goddess Who is Venus? God of Love, yes, but what does that truly mean? 'Venus is the principle of desire , love , beauty , value ; the impulse and capacity to attract and be attracted, to love and be loved , to seek and create beauty and harmony , to engage in social and romantic relations, sensuous pleasure , artistic and aesthetic experience; the principle of Eros and the Beautiful; Aphrodite, the Goddess of love and beauty.' Richard Tarnas - Cosmos and Psyche She is the sweet exhale after a long day, the golden light that dances on the surface of the sea, the laughter that spills effortlessly over a shared meal. She is music, art, silk, scent, and skin warmed by the sun. She is the longing for beauty and the pleasure of its pursuit. And she is always - always - watching over her own. What Does Venus Have to Say About Me? "Now, Jenny probably isn’t going to be very comfortable with this. I, The Goddess of Love, do not hold back when gushing about my beloveds, despite their own inner critics (I see you, Capricorn Mercury-Sun) and their fear of public humiliation (yes, Saturn in the 10th house, I see you too). But my highest desire is to show you how to love, and feel loved. And so, I shall express… Who is Jenny (Jennifer Anne)? Oh, she's one of mine. A woman after my own heart, a work of artistry and devotion. She understands what truly matters - good food, good company, the kind of pleasure that unfolds slowly, like a well-aged wine. Beauty isn’t cheap. Good food isn’t fast. They require patience, practice, skill - and above all, love. Jenny lives this. She creates it. Whether through a meal crafted with care or a home designed with intention, she brings balance into form. Let’s talk about that home - every corner touched by her hands, every detail considered. She doesn’t just admire beauty; she builds it, shaping her world with her own vision. That’s dedication. That’s devotion. Jenny was born under my gaze, sculpted by my hand, with an instinct to see herself reflected in another, to unite, to bring beauty to every space she touches - with words, with love, or the quiet grace of her presence. She moves through the world with an artist’s eye and a diplomat’s heart, drawn to what is golden and refined. But don't mistake her for a pushover. My girl has a streak of rebellion. A flash of the unexpected. She is unconventional, a visionary with Aquarius in her soul. She dreams of a love that transcends time and space, a love that fuels her becoming. And beyond the artistry, there lies a deeper magic. Jenny is driven by a relentless pursuit of truth, unearthing life’s mysteries, staying the course while quietly learning to love herself. Oh, Jenny, my cosmic poet, she was born to weave beauty into words, to remind the world of its own divinity. She longs to show that every imperfect, glorious human experience is drenched in love. She is my divine vessel, my masterpiece. She sees beyond the surface, the sacred in the mundane, the divine in the details. She wants to share it, to guide others back to their love, their truth. She is the artist, the visionary, who refuses to be confined by convention. Love is creation, love is revolution, love is standing in truth. Her voice brings beauty into the world - the kind we feel, the kind that stirs the soul, reminding us that we are, always have been, and always will be... love. Jenny is strong, yet soft. Independent, yet yearning for love that lets her be tender. She is patient, determined, a seeker of truth. Even when it’s difficult. Even when it demands everything of her. Don’t mistake her softness for weakness. She carries a quiet strength, a responsibility to build something lasting, not just for herself, but for those who come after her. She knows true authority isn’t about control; it’s about care. Her strength lies in her ability to hold, protect, and endure. Jenny sees the ideal future clearly - a world infused with love, beauty, and connection. She doesn’t just dream of a better world; she creates it. With her Sun in Capricorn, who knows? She might just build it. She writes not for herself, but for the world, to remind others of their divinity, to show them that love is something they already are. She sees the invisible threads that connect us all and wants you to see it too. She wants you to see yourself through the eyes of love, just as she has worked hard to do. She is, in a word, extraordinary. And I? I adore her." The Astrological Thread   (for those who wish to see the stars behind the story) Libra Rising   With Libra on my Ascendant, I am naturally drawn to harmony, beauty, and connection. I instinctively know how to bring balance to a space, whether through aesthetics, relationships, or the energy I exude. This is my first impression on the world - graceful, poised, and deeply aware of the power of relationships. Venus in Aquarius in the 5th House Venus in Aquarius doesn’t love in traditional ways. I value freedom, uniqueness, and authenticity in relationships. I am drawn to ideas and visions, to love that feels fated yet liberating. I don’t settle for surface-level romance - I need something electric, something that sparks my mind as much as my heart. Venus conjunct Jupiter in Aquarius   Venus and Jupiter together amplify love, beauty, and creativity. This is the signature of someone who loves with their whole being, who believes in something greater than just ordinary romance. My heart longs for the transcendent, the divine, the extraordinary. Love, to me, is meant to be shared expansively, in ways that uplift and inspire. Capricorn Sun conjunct Mercury in the 4th House Capricorn gives me structure, determination, and the ability to build something lasting. My Sun-Mercury conjunction means I think like a Capricorn, practical, wise, and deeply thoughtful. I don’t just dream; I create. I have a message, and I communicate it with clarity and authority. The 4th house placement suggests that my words are deeply personal, rooted in my inner world, my foundations, and my sense of home and belonging. Taurus Moon in the 8th House A Taurus Moon craves stability, beauty, and deep emotional security, but in the 8th house, it is drawn into the realm of transformation. I don’t shy away from intensity; I need depth in my emotional world. I am not someone who loves lightly - I love with the weight of the earth itself. The 8th house also gives me a natural ability to navigate life’s darker, more mysterious waters - seeking truth, healing, and rebirth. Taurus Mars in the 8th House Mars in Taurus moves steadily, persistently. He doesn’t rush - He builds. In the 8th house, this gives me incredible resilience, a determination to see things through, especially when it comes to emotional or psychological work. I don’t give up on love, on dreams, or on transformation, I work through it, slowly but surely, until it becomes something solid and real. Saturn in Cancer in the 10th House Saturn in Cancer has given me a deep sense of responsibility, but it is not the cold discipline of pure ambition, it is the weight of care, the burden of holding space for others. In the 10th house, Saturn has shaped my public image, my work, and my approach to life’s greater purpose. I understand that true strength isn’t about detachment, it’s about showing up, about protecting what matters, about creating something lasting from a place of love. Saturn has given me patience, resilience, and the ability to build a legacy that nurtures and endures. "She was made perfectly. Every piece of her chart, every note in her symphony, was placed with intention. She was designed with precision to be who she is." Venus 💕 My birth chart Want to see yourself through Venus' eyes? • Mars Speaks: Jenny's Inner Warrior

Mars Speaks Who is Mars? I am the fire in your blood, the blade in your hand, the force that drives you forward when all else says stop. 'Mars is the principle of energetic force ; the impulse and capacity to assert, to act  and move energetically and forcefully, to have an impact, to press forward and against, to defend and offend , to act with sharpness and ardour; the tendency to experience aggressiveness, anger, conflict, harm, violence, forceful physical energy; to be combative, competitive, courageous, vigorous ; Ares, the God of war.'   Richard Tarnas I am the warrior, the fight, the unrelenting push against fear. They have called me many things - God of War, Bringer of Battle, Taker of Life - but in truth, I am the spark that ignites action, the hunger that fuels pursuit, the force that demands you claim what is yours. What Mars Has to Say About Jenny "She was not born with my favour. I was weak in her, dulled, a blade left to rust. She needed me, and I was not there. Not in her childhood home, not in the hands meant to protect her, not in the voice that should have roared in her defence. She suffered because of it. She grew in a world where I should have been her shield, and I failed her. But she did not fail herself. Denied a warrior to stand beside her, she became one. The fire was dim, but it was never gone. She found it, piece by piece, through every battle that should have broken her. She mustered the will to leave; she built a home with her own hands, shaped a life for her children from the rubble of what was given to her. She fought through heartbreak, through grief, through the weight of duty and expectation, and she did it alone. Not because she wanted to, but because no one ever had her back. She is steel forged in suffering, strength built through hardship. Where I once failed her, she raised me up herself. She made me strong. She learned to wield me not as a force of destruction, but as a blade of precision, a tool honed for purpose, for protection, for building the life she deserves. She has battled in silence, through financial struggle, through heartbreak, through the betrayal of those who promised to stand beside her. Yet she has stood. Fought. Conquered. She has torn herself apart to rebuild something greater, something unbreakable. And now, she is ready. They tried to break her. She built herself instead. They tried to silence her. She listened harder. She dragged every demon from the shadows and faced them down. She fought, not with weapons, but with truth. With discipline. With vision. And she fights still, for the future she refuses to be denied. That’s not just strength. That’s mastery. She has earned her place. Not beside another who would take her strength for himself, but beside one who will match it. A warrior for a warrior. Fire for fire. A force that does not seek to control her, but to stand beside her as an equal, as a protector, as a partner. She has fought for peace, for justice, for love. And love will answer. Love will rise to meet her, as fierce and unwavering as she is. For that is the law of the warrior. The battle ends, the victory comes, and the future is hers to claim. She is mine now. Not as my servant, but as my equal. She is a warrior in her own right, one who stands with me, not beneath me. She fights for justice, for love, for freedom. Not just for herself, but for her children, for those who come after her, for the world she envisions. She has seen the darkness and turned it into fuel, forged it into purpose. She built the fortress. She stands at its gates, and though she trembles, she needs no rescue. But when he arrives, the one who matches her fire, who fights beside her instead of against her, he will know that she is his equal. Together, they will not crumble. Together, they will carve a path through this world, a testament to what is possible when strength meets strength, when love meets honour. They do not fight for war. They fight for peace, for justice, for truth. And they win." The Astrological Thread   (for those who wish to see the stars behind the story) Libra Rising : Libra Rising speaks to an outward presentation of grace, harmony, and a deep desire for balance in relationships. Libra, though ruled by Venus and symbolised by the Scales, knows how to fight for justice and fairness. There is an inherent tension between my inner warrior (Mars rules my seventh house of partnerships) and the more diplomatic, harmonious part of me, which has to navigate how to fight for what I need while maintaining a sense of grace. Mars in Taurus in the 8th House (Detriment) : Mars in Taurus in the 8th House is a powerful, albeit challenging, placement. Mars is in detriment here, meaning it's not in its most comfortable place, but that doesn’t negate the intensity it brings. The 8th house is where transformation, power struggles, and the hidden things of life take place. Mars in this house, especially in Taurus, speaks to a tenacity that is slow, steady, and unyielding, but it may take longer to build momentum. Mars is a force that transforms through patience, persistence, and digging into the depths. Mars here forces me to look at my inner resources, my inner strength, and my limits. Mars took a while to come into His power, and initially left me feeling hidden, unprotected, and stifled. But the fire inside has slowly built and now burns steady, not reckless, but determined. I have been driven to face my personal traumas and emerge stronger for it. Mars Ruling My 2nd and 7th Houses  (Scorpio and Aries): This gives a deep intensity to both my material world and my relationships. Mars’ rulership of the 2nd house suggests that my sense of self-worth and how I gather resources (financial, emotional, etc.) is wrapped up in my will to rise again after each fall. Scorpio here points to a strong desire for control and a need for transformation in the realm of values and how I earn my place in the world. The 7th house Aries speaks to the kind of partner I'm destined for. Someone who can match my fire. I'm not looking for someone to rescue me; I'm looking for someone who will walk alongside me, matching my drive and passion. However an Aries man - the pioneer, the warrior, the fire starter - can be blind to the needs of others in pursuit of his passions, and Libra tends to appease and back down in favour of harmony. Libra's can get lost, trampled upon and squashed. With the ruler of Aries in detriment, a partner who can nurture Libra's grace has been impossible to attract. Saturn in Cancer in the 10th House : Saturn in the 10th House means career, public life, and legacy are a result of hard work, discipline, and a drive to establish stability. But with Cancer here, there’s also an emotional need to nurture and protect what's been built, especially home and family. Saturn in Cancer can speak to emotional burdens in childhood, but also a deep commitment to creating something enduring. My battle is not only for personal survival but for creating a solid foundation and legacy for my children. Sun and Mercury Conjunct in Capricorn in the 4th House : The Capricorn Sun in the 4th House is where my true essence thrives. Capricorn is known for its strength, persistence, and wisdom, and the 4th house is all about home, family, and emotional foundations. My inner self has been forged through challenges in my personal and family life. The Sun and Mercury together hint at a mind that is sharp, disciplined, and focused on building a secure foundation, even if that means going through tough experiences. There’s a serious energy here. Venus Stationed Retrograde Conjunct Jupiter in Aquarius in the 5th House : Venus and Jupiter together in Aquarius in the 5th House speaks to a love of freedom, creativity, and expansion in the realm of romance, children, and self-expression. The retrograde motion means I've had to reassess love and creativity in my life, especially when it comes to finding balance between my own self-expression and the expectations of others. Jupiter amplifies my capacity for love and joy, but Aquarius’ influence means I'm also looking for something unique - an unconventional partner, someone who can align with my ideals and my journey. Mars in the 8th  forged me into a warrior through struggle and loss,. Saturn in Cancer in the 10th  gave me the grit needed to build career and home from the ground up. Capricorn Sun  ensures determination and persistence have been the driving forces behind everything I've achieved. Venus-Jupiter conjunction in Aquarius  hints at a quest for a partner to stand side by side with me. 'She's not the same person she was when she started out, but the heroes journey is not for the weak of heart. She's battled, built, and now she's standing taller than ever, ready for what's next. She was designed with precision to be who she is." Mars My Birth Chart Want to know about your Mars? Book a birth chart reading. Read what Venus has to say about me. • Les Misérables: The Scorpionic Story

Preface I am fortunate and blessed to have two outstandingly talented kids and a local youth theatre group that has proved the perfect vehicle for them to refine and perform their talents. Every October half term the group puts on a week long show and every show relates to the astrology of the time and reflects themes being highlighted by the energies at hand. This half term, when we have Mars opposing Pluto and are in the balsamic phase of a Scorpio New Moon which encompasses Halloween, the show is Les Misérables. Advertising Poster for the show Les Misérables Les Misérables  is one of the most beloved musicals of all time, a show that combines intense drama, unforgettable music, and powerful themes of redemption, love, and justice. But before captivating theatre audiences worldwide, Les Misérables  began as a novel by the iconic French writer Victor Hugo. Published in 1862, Hugo’s work is a sweeping, socially conscious epic that explores the struggles of the poor and oppressed in early 19th-century France. With its complex characters - Jean Valjean, the former convict seeking redemption; Javert, the relentless inspector; and Fantine, the destitute mother fighting for her daughter’s future - Hugo's novel laid the groundwork for the timeless themes that would eventually take centre stage in the musical adaptation. The journey from novel to stage began over a century later when composer Claude-Michel Schönberg and lyricist Alain Boublil transformed Hugo’s work into a musical. Premiering in Paris in 1980, this initial French production was a critical success but closed after a brief run. However, British producer Cameron Mackintosh saw its potential, commissioning an English version that opened in London’s West End in 1985, followed by a Broadway debut in 1987. With powerful ballads like “I Dreamed a Dream,” “On My Own,” and the rousing anthem “Do You Hear the People Sing?” Les Misérables  quickly became a global phenomenon, resonating with audiences for its universal themes of hope, resilience, and the quest for justice. Victor Hugo Victor Hugo, the author of Les Misérables , is a fascinating figure in literary and political history, known for his profound insights into human nature and society. Born on February 26, 1802, Hugo was a Pisces, but with Scorpio as his rising sign, which aligns with his intense, complex personality and deep empathy for the suffering of others—qualities that permeate his writing. Hugo’s Scorpio rising would have influenced his charismatic presence and intense social consciousness. Scorpio ascendants are known for their profound insight, resilience, and willingness to confront society’s darker realities, which Hugo exemplified. He was outspoken against injustice, poverty, and inequality, particularly in France, and these concerns became central themes in his work. His writing often explored the “shadow side” of humanity—depicting suffering, redemption, and resilience. His life was marked by personal tragedies and exile, experiences that contributed to his empathetic portrayals of marginalized characters in Les Misérables  and The Hunchback of Notre-Dame . He also ventured into politics, standing as a staunch advocate for democracy and human rights. His idealism and vision of a just society are evident in his characters’ struggles and his timeless themes of love, redemption, and hope. Victor Hugo’s work resonates because he infused his writing with a depth and passion that mirrored his life’s convictions, capturing the essence of both a compassionate Pisces soul and a determined, fearless Scorpio rising. This unique combination gave him the ability to write about human suffering and resilience with a powerful emotional intensity that continues to captivate readers and audiences around the world. Les Misérables  and the Scorpio Archetype: A Story of Survival, Transformation, and Love If Les Misérables  were a zodiac sign, it would undoubtedly be Scorpio. It’s raw, intense, unflinching in its portrayal of suffering and redemption, and yet - through all its darkness - deeply, profoundly moving. Every character is either battling the depths of their own soul or standing defiantly against a world that seeks to crush them. Sounds like a Scorpio survival guide, doesn’t it? 1. Intensity and Emotional Depth Scorpios don’t do surface-level. They dive straight into life’s shadows, unafraid of suffering if it means unearthing something real. Les Misérables  is drenched in this emotional depth—Jean Valjean’s struggle for redemption, Fantine’s heart-breaking descent, Éponine’s quiet agony of unrequited love. Every moment is a testament to the Scorpionic experience: love, loss, endurance. 2. Transformation and Redemption Scorpio is the sign of rebirth. It’s about rising from the ashes, stronger, wiser, more whole. Jean Valjean embodies this - his transformation from a hardened criminal to a man of integrity is classic Scorpio evolution. He sheds his past life over and over, constantly recreating himself, proving that even in a cruel world, we can choose to be better. 3. Revenge, Justice, and the Pursuit of Truth Scorpios are known for their obsessive focus - just ask Javert. His relentless pursuit of Valjean is Scorpio energy in its most unyielding form: all-consuming, black-and-white, justice at any cost. But here’s the lesson - Scorpio’s intensity must evolve, or it destroys itself. Javert can’t adapt to a world where mercy and redemption exist, and it ultimately leads to his downfall. 4. Loyalty and Passionate Love A Scorpio loves deeply, even when it’s painful. Éponine, singing her heart out in On My Own , is the ultimate example. She remains devoted to Marius, knowing he will never love her back. It’s the Scorpio way - feeling everything, even the ache, because love is worth it, even when it hurts. 5. Sacrifice and the Power of Martyrdom Scorpio understands that real love, real conviction, often demands sacrifice. Fantine’s suffering for her daughter, the students at the barricade dying for their cause - these are the echoes of Scorpio’s willingness to go all in, no matter the cost. Love and ideals are worth fighting for, even when the odds are grim. 6. The Shadow and the Search for Meaning Scorpios aren’t afraid of the dark; they live there. Les Misérables  is a story that forces us to confront injustice, suffering, and the failings of humanity, but it doesn’t stop there. It asks: How do we survive it? How do we transform pain into meaning?  And that’s where the real Scorpio message emerges. The Light in the Darkness: Love as the Ultimate Answer For all its tragedy, Les Misérables  isn’t a story about despair - it’s about hope, about endurance, about love as the thing that makes life bearable. 🔹 “To love another person is to see the face of God.” This line isn’t just poetic - it’s the heart of the story. Love redeems Valjean. Love fuels the revolutionaries. Love carries Marius through grief. Love - pure, selfless, unbreakable - is what gives all the suffering meaning. 🔹 “Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise.” If that isn’t Scorpio wisdom, I don’t know what is. No matter how deep the pain, there’s always something on the other side. Transformation isn’t just possible; it’s inevitable. 🔹 “Will you join in our crusade?” The final chorus isn’t just about revolution - it’s a call to action. Scorpio doesn’t just survive hardship; it transforms  it. It turns pain into wisdom, struggle into resilience. Scorpio’s Lesson: Love, Purpose, and Rebirth Like Les Misérables , Scorpio’s story isn’t just about suffering; it’s about survival. It’s about finding meaning in pain, refusing to let darkness define you, and holding onto love even when the world tries to break you. It’s about knowing that even in your worst moments, you’re being forged into something stronger. And in the end, that’s the Scorpio way - falling, rising, and loving with everything you have. 🔗 Watch the Final Song Here A note on AI & my writing: I use ChatGPT as a writing assistant—not as a writer. • My Journey: 1 Call to adventure

Glastonbury Tor It begins, late one night, snuggled up with my sleepy three-year-old daughter in front of a movie, in a caravan, in a popular English seaside resort. It begins with these words: The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return. It began with some questions: Have I learned this? Do I want to learn this? Now at this time I was fairly recently married to the father of my two children, a six-year-old son and the sleepy three-year-old daughter, so answering the first question with an affirmative should have been easy. However, while I was pretty confident I’d loved , at that point, even in a long-standing relationship, and even though the word ‘love’ was used liberally, I wasn’t certain I’d been loved . At least not so far as I could feel it. Roll on a year and I am recently divorced and living in a little house, near the seaside, in another popular English resort. Those questions launched me here, but now they, and the desire they sparked, are lost and temporarily forgotten, amidst the stress and intensity of sharing the parenting of two small children, a full-time job, and a house to run all by myself. Six years on, and with another tumultuous and ultimately unsuccessful relationship under my belt, they re-emerged, and this time another level of awareness came with them, inspired in part by The Beatles: And in the end, the love you take, is equal to the love you make. The End, The Beatles This time I know that love starts with me . If I want to love, I have to love myself . And if I want to feel loved by anyone else then first, I need to feel my own love . And that feels like a mission (something my Capricorn Sun loves!). In that moment I had found a new sense of purpose: I will learn to love myself. And when (or maybe it should be if), I’m successful, then perhaps I’ll be able to share that love I’ve made, with another. To love oneself by Oscar Wilde The Journey Begins: Learning to love myself So where did I start? I started in the same way that I started all the relationships I’d had (and lost myself to). I started by applying all my interest and all my curiosity to myself: Who am I? What do I like? What do I want? What do I need? Fortunately, at this point in my journey, I began an Instagram page, so I have a really clear picture of where I started, what I was doing, and where it led me. I embraced the concept of hygge: hygge [ˈh(j)uːɡə, ˈhʊɡə] NOUN 1. a quality of cosiness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being (regarded as a defining characteristic of Danish culture): "why not follow the Danish example and bring more hygge into your daily life?" · "count on candlelight—almost a requirement for that special hygge experience" My Hygge artwork with the understanding that this was something I needed to cultivate in my life in order to give me the space and time to really begin to get to know myself. And as I began ‘hyggelingalong’ I discovered that this concept had always been embedded in me. It is the simple things that make me feel happy in my day to day: quality food that I’ve taken time over and prepared with love, a beautiful (some may say eclectic) and comfortable environment, quiet moments to myself in nature, music I can sing and dance along to in my kitchen and easy, deep conversations with interesting people about interesting things. All I needed to do was make the space and time to do more of these things and I'd be giving myself more of what I liked, wanted and needed. I was on my way. From Instagram: Instagram Image November 2017 About me - November 2017 “To love oneself is the beginning of a life-long romance.” – Oscar Wilde. A life long pleaser (I’m now 43) and fairly recently single (a serious post divorce relationship ended a few months ago) I am on a mission to learn how to please myself (something that I fear many women in my position have forgotten (or in my case never learned) how to do). In part so that the next time I have a relationship I don’t lose myself in the process but also because it seems like an incredibly important thing to do and it’s about time I did! So, how to fall love in love with yourself? 1. Sing your praises: I think I’m pretty good at this, I know I’m a pretty good Mum, great cook, a diy Queen. I know I can design and bring about a great space. I can draw pretty well, I write nicely, I can make a mean excel model... if I focus on the positives (something I’m also very good at) I’d say I’m not doing a bad job of this one as long as I’m talking to myself. It’s much harder telling other people. As my manager said to me last year after an unsuccessful interview, I don’t sell myself very well. Perhaps this is a good start... 2. Be kind to yourself: I’m learning to listen to what I need and to let myself off the hook when today’s to do list in the bullet journal goes unchecked. I’m taking time to enjoy the coffee and cook myself a delicious meal (even when it’s only me I’m feeding)...taking photos of it helps and anchors it so I remember it made me feel happy and do it again. (Thanks for that Instagram 😁!) 3. Take yourself out on dates: Something I’m embracing and the photo behind the post. Yesterday I took myself to see Thor: Ragnarok and smiled all the way through. In part because of the film but also because I was proud I was there by myself, amongst the teenage boys, with my solo bucket of popcorn ❤️ Instagram Photo November 2017 Looking back, I can see that this chapter of my journey was all about mind and body. The chapter where I got to know myself and my needs, and gave myself the attention I had been missing for so many years. I cultivated discipline around the things I needed and that made me ‘feel’ good, and I gave myself time to discover more of what those things are, whilst reminding myself to feel grateful for them. My Practices For the mind: Regular time alone in nature - a daily walk. Embracing the present moment - moments every day to breathe and just be. Gratitude - acknowledging the happy throughout the day. Mindfulness meditation - twenty minutes every morning and evening with focus on the breath to let go of thoughts. Talking therapy - revisiting the difficult stories and learning how to feel the emotions that arose in the telling of them For the body: Good Sleep - I stopped drinking alcohol and was disciplined in my approach to sleep. I went to bed at nine when the children were asleep and read, meditated and gave myself my attention. Good Food - I gave up refined sugar and ensured I made myself healthy, nutritious, well presented meals whether I was eating alone or cooking for the kids. Gentle Exercise - my daily walk. Rest - I encouraged myself to stop regularly during the day and take a moment. I'd light a candle, make myself a cup of tea and then sit and appreciate it. I learned to take a short nap when I was tired and learned to enjoy doing so. Me: November 2017 I was off to a great start. I had applied myself, to myself, and I was seeing the benefits. I felt healthy and happy. In mind and body . And then, as the Universe is prone to do, I was challenged, and rather than sticking to the path I'd intended to walk, I saw a shiny unicorn in a clearing and headed off in another direction... The Challenge The shiny unicorn came in the form of a man; a funny, charismatic, captivating, intelligent and beautiful man. And with this man, magic and mystery entered my life. Roald Dahl Quote, Believe in Magic Now this is almost a whole other story, so I won't go into all the details here. Long story short, this amazing man gifted me with another flavour to my journey. My magical encounter with him, along with the memories he unlocked from deep within, launched me into a whole other level of healing and clearing, of uncovering and revealing. Through him, and my interactions with him, I have learned more about myself than I ever thought was possible. He became a carrot. And my journey became refined. And now, a conscious mutual relationship founded in unconditional love is where I wanted to end up. Eventually I found a name for what I was experiencing and a mode of logic I could follow: A framework for my journey. My awakening journey, and the journey to become my true (and best) self, began in earnest. Continued in Chapter 2

Why a Butterfly? Why Pink? Every choice I’ve made in designing this space - my website, my work, my approach - has been intentional. Because astrology isn’t just about understanding the stars; it’s about understanding you . And symbols? They hold power. They speak to us in ways words sometimes can’t. So why the butterfly ? Transformation. Growth. Evolution. The butterfly is one of nature’s most beautiful reminders that change is not only possible but necessary. That we are meant to shed old versions of ourselves, to move through the discomfort of the unknown, and to emerge as something new. This is what astrology offers: a way to honour your own metamorphosis, to trust the unfolding of your path, and to see the beauty in each stage of becoming. The butterfly in my chart is white, a colour of purity, clarity, and spiritual insight. A blank canvas waiting to be written on. A fresh start. And why pink ? Pink is the colour of love - soft, warm, and inviting. It represents compassion, self-acceptance, and the deep heart-centred energy that I bring into my readings. It speaks of connection, kindness, and the courage to embrace who you truly are. My work is rooted in love. In guiding you back to yourself with gentleness, honesty, and encouragement. In reminding you that no matter where you are on your journey, you are worthy. You are seen. You are loved. So when you visit this space, I hope you feel that. That you are safe here. That you are growing, evolving, becoming. That your transformation is sacred. 💗

The Dragon How to Discern the Meaning of a Dream Dreams are like whispers from your subconscious, filled with symbols and emotions that hint at deeper truths. Here’s a simple guide to uncover their meaning: Capture the Dream Write it Down : Note every detail as soon as you wake - people, places, emotions, and events. Sketch if Needed : Draw symbols or scenes that are hard to put into words. Spot the Key Elements Symbols : What objects or imagery stand out? Characters : Who was there, and what role did they play? Feelings : How did you feel - scared, happy, confused? Connect it to Your Life Personal Links : What do these symbols mean to you ? Life Context : Could the dream reflect something you’re dealing with now? Consider Layers of Meaning Literal : Is the dream mirroring something in real life? Metaphorical : Are the symbols pointing to deeper feelings or ideas? Look for Patterns Recurring Themes : Do similar dreams keep popping up? Dream Journal : Keeping one helps spot recurring messages over time. Reflect and Explore Inner Dialogue : Imagine asking the dream symbols what they’re trying to tell you. New Perspectives : Talk it over with someone or consult a dream dictionary (but trust your personal take). Dream interpretation is personal - it’s about how the dream feels  to you and what resonates with your life. With curiosity and reflection, you can uncover its hidden insights. Exploring the symbols of my dream... The Heron The heron , with its calm and solitary grace, is a beautiful reminder of patience, balance, and self-reliance. Standing motionless as it hunts, it teaches the value of stillness and waiting for the right moment to act. Its solitary nature inspires independence and personal growth, while its ability to adapt to diverse environments shows the power of resourcefulness and flexibility. With its tranquil presence, the heron embodies peace amidst chaos and encourages us to trust our intuition and seek deeper insight. Across cultures, from Native American traditions to Celtic lore, the heron is a guide on life’s spiritual journey, symbolising wisdom, rebirth, and harmony. The Dragon D ragon 's are mythical powerhouses, brimming with symbolism that shifts across cultures. In the West, they’re fearsome guardians of treasure, embodying chaos and the ultimate challenge, while in the East, they’re revered as wise and benevolent beings that bring balance, prosperity, and rain for abundance. They symbolise strength, transformation, and the courage to face fears, guiding us through cycles of destruction and rebirth. Dragons are also keepers of ancient wisdom, reminding us of the raw forces of creation and the dualities of life - fear and fortune, chaos and harmony. A dragon encounter, whether in legend or imagination, inspires awe and personal growth. Back to The 'Dream' Dream Narrative Analysis courtesy of ChatGPT "Your dream of the heron and dragon reflects a powerful transformation within you. The heron, your spirit bird, symbolises patience, balance, and intuition - qualities you value. Its shift into a dragon signifies the emergence of deeper strength, wisdom, and the courage to face challenges. The bright sun highlights clarity and insight, urging you to recognise this evolving power within yourself. The dragon’s ascension into a flock represents growth, rising above difficulties, and connecting with a larger purpose. This dream encourages you to trust your inner strength, embrace change, and align with the profound growth it offers." How does this fit with astrology I was pondering when I had this dream? Jupiter conjunct The Sun speaks of expansion of truth and purpose. The wisdom of both the heron and the dragon reflect Jupiter, and both are against the backdrop of the burning sun which is illuminating their changing form. What did the 'dream' and the astrology of the moment tell me? The Dragon symbolises: Power and Strength Wisdom and Knowledge Protection and Guardianship Balance and Harmony Fears and Facing Fears Jupiter is God of Growth and Expansion and spiritually ‘suggests our impulses to move closer to, or become more like, what we consider to be true and right. Jupiter’s expansive nature seeks to draw us back toward an identification with the larger universe and a more inclusive understanding of our awareness within it. Jupiterian experiences evoke awe and amazement and urge us to embrace wider perspectives.’ — Renn Butler The Sun is the central principle of vital creative energy; our guiding light; illuminating our purpose, and together with Jupiter can correspond to experiences which ignite our inner adventurer and push us into a heroes journey in search of absolute truth. The 1st thing the Dragon reminded me: We can choose to live in an expanded reality where anything is possible and miracles occur every day. It’s just a matter of perspective. Consider the imagery of seeing either 'herons' or 'dragons' as a metaphor for living in a place of possibility or being bound by reality. Even in my dream I'd never have imagined that what I was seeing in the sky was anything different to what I'd seen before. The choice between these two interpretations reflects the power of our minds to construct the world around us. We can either choose to see the world in a limited way, where only the expected and mundane exist, or we can embrace a more expansive view where the extraordinary and miraculous are not only possible but also present in everyday life. Living in an expanded reality means opening ourselves up to the endless possibilities that exist beyond our immediate perceptions. It means acknowledging that there is more to life than what meets the eye and being open to experiencing the wonder and magic that surrounds us. By shifting our perspective, we can transform our reality and invite in miracles and wonders that we may have previously thought impossible. It's about recognising that our beliefs and perceptions shape our experiences, and by choosing to see the world through a lens of possibility and wonder, we can create a reality that is truly extraordinary. 2nd thing: In every experience lies a profound message, awaiting discovery if one is open to perceiving it as such. Several years ago, during a period of intense spiritual exploration, I embarked on a journey to connect with the spiritual realm. It was during this time that I crossed paths with a heron, a majestic creature that would soon become my spiritual guide. Day after day, during my lunchtime strolls, I found myself encountering the heron, as if guided by unseen forces. Each encounter felt like a divine conversation, as I listened intently to the silent wisdom emanating from this magnificent guide. The moments spent in the presence of the heron were imbued with a sense of enchantment, yet I understood that this magic was not merely a product of chance, but rather a result of my own perspective. I made a conscious choice to view these encounters not as random happenstances, but as meaningful interactions orchestrated by the universe for my spiritual growth. Through this lens of interpretation, every message conveyed by the heron held profound significance, offering insights and lessons to aid me on my journey. It was a transformative period, where each encounter with the heron served as a beacon of guidance, illuminating the path towards self-discovery and spiritual enlightenment. In hindsight, I realised that the magic I experienced was not solely attributed to the heron itself, but to my willingness to perceive the world through a lens of meaning and significance. Thus, I learned that the true power lies not only in the messages we receive, but in the way we choose to interpret and integrate them into our lives. By embracing the perspective that every experience holds value and purpose, we open ourselves to a world brimming with opportunities for growth, wisdom, and spiritual connection. 3rd thing: The Universe has our back. At its core, the belief that the Universe has our back is a profound affirmation of trust in the inherent goodness and benevolence of existence itself. When we choose to embrace this belief wholeheartedly, it transforms the way we navigate through life's journey. Central to this perspective is the conviction that we are fundamentally supported and guided by a force greater than ourselves. It is an acknowledgment that there is a divine order at play, one that orchestrates the events of our lives with purpose and intention. With this understanding, we can approach each day with a sense of security and assurance, knowing that we are held in the embrace of universal love and protection. This belief fundamentally shapes our perception of the world around us. Challenges and difficulties cease to be insurmountable obstacles, but rather opportunities for growth and learning. Instead of viewing adversity as a sign of abandonment or punishment, we recognize it as a gentle nudge from the Universe, urging us to expand our awareness and evolve into our highest potential. In this paradigm, every experience, whether joyful or painful, is infused with meaning and significance. Difficulties become valuable lessons, illuminating aspects of ourselves and our lives that require attention and transformation. Through these experiences, we gain clarity about our desires and preferences, discerning more clearly what we truly want to manifest in our lives. Moreover, the belief in the supportive nature of the Universe instils in us a profound sense of gratitude and humility. We become attuned to the countless blessings and synchronicities that grace our existence, recognising them as manifestations of divine love and providence. This gratitude becomes a powerful magnet, drawing more blessings and abundance into our lives through the law of attraction. Ultimately, embracing the belief that the Universe has our back is a choice—an act of faith that empowers us to navigate life's journey with courage, grace, and resilience. It invites us to surrender to the flow of life, trusting that we are always exactly where we need to be, guided by the loving hand of the Universe every step of the way. 4th thing: Living a faithful life makes it meaningful and purposeful. Embracing a life of faith imbues every moment with profound meaning and purpose, transforming the mundane into the extraordinary. At the heart of this journey lies a commitment to self-love and continual self-transformation, where every step is guided by a belief in a greater cosmic narrative. Choosing to walk this path requires courage—the courage to embrace your uniqueness, quirks, and idiosyncrasies without apology or hesitation. It's about honouring the essence of who you are, even if it means diverging from the norms of society. Through this radical self-acceptance, you cultivate a deep sense of authenticity and inner peace that radiates outward, inspiring others to embrace their own individuality. Central to the faithful life is the practice of unwavering self-love, extending compassion and kindness to yourself in both moments of triumph and moments of struggle. This act of self-nurturing nurtures a reservoir of inner strength and resilience, enabling you to weather life's storms with grace and fortitude. However, living a faithful life does not guarantee perpetual happiness or a lack of challenges. Instead, it offers something far more profound: a profound sense of trust in the inherent goodness of life, even in the face of adversity. It's about recognising that every obstacle, every setback, carries within it the seeds of growth and transformation. In moments of difficulty, this faith becomes a beacon of hope, illuminating the path forward and instilling a deep-seated confidence that, no matter how tough things may seem, there is a greater purpose guiding your journey. It's an assurance that even in the darkest of nights, there exists a glimmer of light, guiding you towards the dawn of a new day. Living a faithful life is a testament to the power of belief—the belief in yourself, in the universe, and in the inherent beauty and meaning woven into the fabric of existence. It's a journey of profound self-discovery and spiritual awakening, where every moment becomes an opportunity to deepen your connection to the divine and to live a life of purpose, passion, and unwavering faith. 5th thing: Seven years ago if someone had asked me to read this post I’d either have refused on the basis that I didn’t engage in that sort of nonsense or I’d have read it and been seriously irritated by how deluded the person was who had written it. All those ‘trust the universe has your back’ type quotes made me both angry and perplexed. How could seemingly intelligent people be so damned stupid? My interest in the unseen and the weird has always been there. As a kid I was obsessed with a readers digest book called ‘Mysteries of the Unexplained’, I picked it up regularly when I was sat in the lounge and read the same mysterious stories about prophesies, magic, ghosts and unexplained cases such as those who appeared to have died of spontaneous human combustion, over and over. When a friend died tragically and suddenly in my early 20s I got obsessed with life after death and messages from beyond the grave, exhausting all the books in the local library on the topic. Even then I’d never have spoken to anyone about it. My curiosity and my fascination was a secret. And eventually I completely buried that part of myself in order to fit in - down so deep I wasn’t even aware of it. I didn’t want to be weird. I wanted to be normal. And so I adjusted myself. I also relate to the so called ‘Twin Flame Journey’ and consider myself a ‘twin’. This one is even more difficult to own up to, even amidst the inherent weirdness of the spiritual community, because there’s so much bad press about it and many opinions of it as an insane delusion. All of which are fair. But what stands is that it explains an experience and was the closest thing I ‘found’ (it was brought to my attention in a magical way like everything else I experienced at that time) 7 years ago and has helped me make sense of what I was experiencing and how to navigate it. It is still the best explanation for where I’ve found myself - regardless how cringe that label is and how it makes me feel to admit to it. It still fits best the journey I’ve been on, even when my inner voice of doubt screams don’t be crazy! This ties to my acknowledgment and owning, both personally and publicly, my autistic and ADHD traits (never diagnosed because I’d never have wanted to admit I had a problem worth labelling - especially one with stigma attached that made me different and not normal) which I’ve talked about in previous recent posts. That is a massive part of who I am, and what and why I struggle, that I’m just learning to accept and be brave enough to share about. To refer to the astrology a moment: Taurus, where all the recent dramatic cosmic activity has been occurring involving Jupiter and Uranus, is my 8th house, and this is all 8th house stuff. Parts of it is stuff I had hidden from myself, and other parts are what I’ve hidden from everyone else. Since the Uranus Jupiter conjunction on the 20th of April I’ve realised, more profoundly than ever, that if I want to succeed at life then I need to be me and I need to be in my truth, on all levels of my experience. Which means being more open with myself and others about what makes me, me. Which leads me to the 6th thing the dragon had to tell me : Truth is power. Secrets breed shame. Feeling that parts of us won’t be accepted, or worse that we’ll be rejected for being ourselves, is an incredibly difficult place to be. When we hide who we are and feel ashamed of who we are, we deny ourselves the opportunity to live and love fully. And when we don’t make an effort to uncover who we are fully, we will never know who we are and what we are truly capable of doing and being in the world. And finally 7th, for each of the seven years I’ve been consciously on this journey of self awareness: Being courageously who you are is the only sensible choice. No matter how difficult it feels to share the bits of ourselves that feel vulnerable. And as for the bits we hide from ourselves; as Carl Jung said, “Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” Work with me If you'd like to read more about my experiences over the last seven years find the beginning of my story here: Part 1 : Call to adventure Part 2: Into the Unknown Part 3: Facing myself To be continued. • Pluto Journeys: Doing 'The Work' as prescribed by George Gurdjieff

Phoenix symbolism and meaning are recognised by anyone who has experienced a major initiation or transformation. Click in image to read more. "The Work" in the context of the Fourth Way, a spiritual teaching developed by the mystic G.I. Gurdjieff, refers to a set of practices aimed at self-development and achieving a higher state of consciousness. Gurdjieff's Fourth Way is one of the traditional ways to spiritual enlightenment, alongside the ways of the fakir, monk, and yogi. What makes Gurdjieff's way so compelling and appealing is that it is key to remain embedded in society, and living a full human life, as you do it. This isn't a journey of removing ourselves from the world to transcend it, it's instruction on how to become your best self so you can live your best life and get and give the most of your self to the world! The Work involves various exercises and practices designed to help individuals become more self-aware, break free from mechanical behaviours, and ultimately reach a state of higher consciousness. The process of transformation in the Fourth Way involves several key steps: Self-Observation (Self-Remembering): This is the fundamental practice in the Fourth Way. It involves observing oneself in real-time, paying attention to thoughts, emotions, and behaviours without identification or judgment. The goal is to develop a continuous self-awareness. Identification: One of the main obstacles to self-awareness is identification, where individuals become so absorbed in their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours that they lose awareness of themselves. The Work emphasizes the need to recognize and overcome these automatic identifications. Conscious Labour and Intentional Suffering: Gurdjieff introduced the concept of "conscious labour" and "intentional suffering." Conscious labour refers to making efforts to be present and self-aware in daily activities. Intentional suffering involves willingly facing and enduring challenges and discomfort for the sake of inner growth. Centres: The Fourth Way describes the human being as having three centres—intellectual, emotional, and physical. The Work involves harmonizing and balancing these centres to achieve a more integrated and conscious state. Transformation of Energy: Gurdjieff emphasized the idea of transforming lower, automatic energies into higher, conscious energies. This involves redirecting and transmuting the energy that is typically wasted in mechanical, unconscious activities. Study of Sacred and Esoteric Knowledge: The Work involves the study of ancient spiritual and esoteric teachings, as well as Gurdjieff's own ideas, to gain a deeper understanding of the nature of the self and the universe. Group Work: Gurdjieff stressed the importance of working in a group, as interactions with others can provide valuable mirrors for self-reflection. Group work can also create a shared energy that supports individual and collective transformation It's important to note that the Fourth Way is a complex and multifaceted teaching, and the practices of The Work are meant to be integrated into one's daily life. The goal is to develop a higher level of consciousness and break free from mechanical, unconscious patterns of thought and behaviour. The process of transformation into a more conscious individual, as outlined in the Fourth Way and similar spiritual teachings, is not a one-size-fits-all approach, and it requires dedicated effort and self-work. While there isn't a rigid set of steps, there are general principles and practices that individuals often follow to facilitate their inner development. Here are some key aspects that may guide your transformative journey: Self-Observation: Practice observing yourself: Develop the habit of observing your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours without immediate judgment. Be a witness to your own experiences. Identification Awareness: Recognise and understand identification: Pay attention to moments when you become identified with certain thoughts, emotions, or roles. This awareness is crucial for breaking free from automatic reactions. Objective I or Witness: Develop the objective I or witness: Cultivate a more stable and objective observer within yourself. This is the part of you that can stand apart from the changing "I's" and observe them without being fully identified. Conscious Labour and Intentional Suffering: Engage in conscious labour: Approach your daily activities with a conscious effort to be present and self-aware. This includes ordinary tasks and challenges. Embrace intentional suffering: Willingly face challenges and discomfort with the understanding that these experiences can contribute to inner growth. Harmonising Centres: Balance intellectual, emotional, and physical centres: Work on harmonising these aspects of yourself. Avoid over-identifying with one centre at the expense of others. Group Work: Participate in group activities: Engage in group work if possible. Interactions with others can provide valuable mirrors for self-reflection, and collective efforts can create a supportive environment. Study of Sacred and Esoteric Knowledge: Explore spiritual teachings: Study ancient wisdom, esoteric knowledge, and teachings related to self-development. Gurdjieff's writings and other spiritual texts can provide valuable insights. Transforming Energy: Transmute lower energies: Redirect and transmute automatic and lower energies into higher, conscious energies. This involves transforming negative emotions and reactions into positive and constructive actions. Prolonged Self-Observation: Extend self-observation to all states: Practice self-observation not only in waking states but also during various states of consciousness, including sleep and moments of heightened awareness. Patience and Persistence: Be patient: Inner transformation takes time, and progress may not always be linear. Cultivate patience and perseverance in your practice. Remember that these principles are interconnected, and the emphasis on each aspect may vary for different individuals. It's also essential to adapt these practices to your own life circumstances and to approach your transformative journey with an open mind and heart. The process is about continuous self-discovery and growth. The process of personal transformation and increased consciousness is often gradual and may not be accompanied by a sudden, dramatic shift. However, there are several signs and indicators that suggest you may be experiencing transformation. Here are some possible signs that you have undergone or are undergoing a positive transformation: Increased Self-Awareness: You become more aware of your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours in real-time. There is a heightened sense of self-observation, allowing you to catch automatic reactions before they unfold. Greater Emotional Resilience: You find it easier to navigate and manage challenging emotions. Emotional responses become more measured and conscious. Objective Perspective: The development of an objective observer within you allows you to view situations and yourself with greater objectivity. You can step back from your own experiences and see them from a more impartial standpoint. Increased Presence in Daily Life: You experience a greater sense of presence and engagement in your daily activities. Mundane tasks become opportunities for conscious action and awareness. Improved Relationships: Interactions with others become more harmonious and less reactive. There is an increased ability to empathize and understand others' perspectives. Clarity of Purpose: You gain clarity about your values, goals, and purpose in life. Decision-making becomes more aligned with your authentic self. Balanced Energy: You experience a more balanced distribution of energy between intellectual, emotional, and physical aspects of yourself. Energy is no longer wasted on unconscious and mechanical behaviours. Decreased Inner Turmoil: Inner conflicts and turmoil diminish as you become more accepting and integrated. A sense of inner peace and contentment may emerge. Heightened Creativity and Insight: Increased access to creative and intuitive insights may arise. Problem-solving becomes more inventive and holistic. Transcendence of Ego Patterns: You notice a reduction in the grip of habitual ego patterns. There is an increased ability to detach from self-limiting beliefs. Elevated Levels of Compassion: Compassion for yourself and others deepens. The understanding of the interconnectedness of all beings grows. It's important to note that personal transformation is an ongoing process, and these signs may manifest in varying degrees and at different times. Additionally, there may be periods of challenge and regression. Regular self-reflection and an open attitude towards growth and learning are valuable throughout this journey. If you find that you are consistently experiencing positive changes in your inner and outer life, you may be on the path of transformation. Pluto In the context of the Fourth Way and the transformative journey of self-discovery known as 'the Work,' Pluto's astrological symbolism aligns with the principles of inner transformation and evolution. Pluto is often associated with profound changes, regeneration, and the uncovering of hidden aspects of the self. While Pluto's influence doesn't directly dictate an individual's ability to do 'the Work,' its transits through the astrological chart can provide a supportive backdrop for the inner work and self-transformation advocated by spiritual teachings like the Fourth Way. Here are some ways Pluto's journey through an individual's chart may enhance their capacity to engage in 'the Work': Intensity and Depth: Pluto's Influence: Pluto is known for its intense and transformative energy. Its transits can bring to the surface deep-seated issues, unconscious patterns, and hidden aspects of the self. Enhancing 'the Work': This intensity can be channelled into self-awareness and self-observation, allowing individuals to delve into the depths of their psyche, confront inner challenges, and initiate profound transformations. Destruction and Rebirth: Pluto's Influence: Pluto is often associated with the symbolic death and rebirth of various life aspects. It signifies the dismantling of old structures to make way for new and more authentic expressions of self. Enhancing 'the Work': Individuals undergoing Pluto transits may find that the breakdown of old patterns aligns with the principles of 'the Work,' encouraging the shedding of conditioned identities and the emergence of a more genuine self. Uncovering Hidden Realities: Pluto's Influence: Pluto's energy is linked to the revelation of hidden truths and the exploration of the unconscious. It encourages the individual to confront aspects of the self that may have been suppressed or overlooked. Enhancing 'the Work': In 'the Work,' self-observation involves uncovering and acknowledging hidden aspects of the personality. Pluto's influence can act as a catalyst for this process, aiding in the journey of self-discovery and conscious awareness. Empowerment through Transformation: Pluto's Influence: While Pluto's transits can be challenging, they ultimately empower individuals by facilitating inner transformation and growth. Enhancing 'the Work': The principles of 'the Work' involve intentional efforts toward personal development. Pluto's transformative influence provides an opportunity for individuals to actively engage in self-awareness, inner work, and the conscious transformation of their being. Alignment with Higher Purpose: Pluto's Influence: Pluto is associated with soul-level transformation and the alignment with one's deeper purpose. Enhancing 'the Work': Individuals engaged in 'the Work' often seek a higher purpose and a more conscious way of living. Pluto's influence can serve as a cosmic ally, supporting the alignment of personal growth with a deeper, more meaningful existence. Integration of Shadow Aspects: Pluto's Influence: Pluto's energy is linked to the integration of shadow aspects—those elements of the self that are often denied or rejected. Enhancing 'the Work': In 'the Work,' the process of self-observation involves embracing all aspects of the self, including the shadow. Pluto's transits can facilitate the integration of these shadow elements, contributing to a more holistic and authentic self. It's important to note that while Pluto's transits can provide a conducive astrological climate for transformative work, engaging in 'the Work' requires personal commitment, conscious effort, and intentional self-observation. Individuals can use the energy of Pluto's transits as an opportunity to deepen their inner work and align with the principles of self-discovery and transformation advocated by teachings like the Fourth Way. On a personal note: I have been subject to a transformative Pluto journey and have practiced everything espoused here - though I wasn't consciously following the path prescribed by Gurdjieff at the time. I can attest to the transformative effects in all aspects of life when we decide to do the self work and set the intention to transform. • Self Transformation - our own Hero's Journey

Ancient astrology seems to suggest that our future is written. If we can predict the likely events and outcomes of our lives, how can we possibly have any control over what happens to us? And if our future is set, what's the point of changing anything? I believe we have agency over our lives within the framework that is laid down by our inherent energies and prescribed life stories. We have free will . Which means that we have the ability to choose how we act and behave and what we do or don't do. I believe we have the capacity and capability to transform our selves and thus change our outcomes for the better. So what can we change? And where do we start? I work with the Seven Hermetic Principles . The Principle of Correspondence states: as above, so below; as within, so without. We can work with this in two ways: We can look outside of us at the experiences we are attracting in order to work out why we are attracting them, and where the root of the experience sits 'within', and We can get to know our inner self and what we honestly feel about the experiences we are having and the circumstances of our lives, in order to choose what we want and attract the life we want 'without'. We have the choice to pursue the self-work needed in order to get to know ourselves and the stories we are creating. And I can attest to the notion that the more we know ourselves, the more power we have over our reality. The Importance of Self-Work Doing 'the work' to get to know yourself and your stories is essential to living a free and authentic life. By taking responsibility for our inner world, we gain the power to shape our external reality. This conscious effort enables us to break free from limiting patterns and beliefs imposed by external influences, allowing us to live in alignment with our true selves. Carl Jung emphasised the necessity of self-awareness and transformation, stating, "Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes." and argued that if we choose to individuate , meaning we consciously embark on the hero's journey to know and accept ourselves fully, the more successful we will be at life. “The difference between the “natural” individuation process,” wrote Jung “which runs its course unconsciously, and the one which is consciously realized, is tremendous. In the first case consciousness nowhere intervenes; the end remains as dark as the beginning. In the second case so much darkness comes to light that the personality is permeated with light, and consciousness necessarily gains in scope and insight.”  (Carl Jung, Answer to Job ) Similarly, George Gurdjieff highlighted the importance of conscious effort in personal growth: "Man's possibilities are very great. You cannot even conceive a shadow of what man is capable of attaining. But nothing can be attained in sleep." These insights remind us that the journey to self-discovery and empowerment requires deliberate and mindful work. Pursuing Self-Transformation: Understanding 'As Within, So Without' The concept informs that our internal states directly influence our external reality. To transform ourselves and our reality, we must engage in profound self-work. This process involves introspection, understanding the root causes of our external difficulties, and healing these internal sources of strife. Here's a structured approach to this transformative journey: 1. Identifying Internal Causes of External Difficulties Begin by observing patterns in your life that cause distress. These patterns are often reflections of unresolved internal issues. Tools that can help with this include: Journaling : Regularly document your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Look for recurring themes that point to internal conflicts or beliefs. Mindfulness and Meditation : These practices help in cultivating awareness of your thoughts and emotions, allowing you to identify subconscious patterns that affect your reality. Therapeutic Modalities : Engage in therapy or counselling to uncover deep-seated issues, especially those rooted in childhood. 2. Healing Through Feeling: The Body-Mind Connection Our bodies store emotional pain and trauma, which manifest as physical or emotional ailments. To heal, we must feel and process these stored emotions: Somatic Experiencing : This therapeutic approach focuses on bodily sensations to release stored trauma. By paying attention to physical sensations, we can process and integrate painful experiences. Breathwork : Practices like Pranayama or Holotropic Breathwork facilitate emotional release and healing by altering our physiological state. Bodywork Therapies : Engage in therapies such as massage, acupuncture, or Reiki, which can help release emotional blockages stored in the body. 3. Transforming Beliefs: The Power of the Mind Beliefs shape our reality. Transforming limiting beliefs is a process. We need to develop the self awareness required to see the beliefs we hold before we can reprogram them. Tools that can help: Conscious Self-Inquiry : Question the validity of your beliefs. Ask yourself if they are truly yours or imposed by external influences. Byron Katie's "The Work" is a helpful framework for this process. Exposure to New Ideas : Read, study, and expose yourself to diverse philosophies and teachings. This broadens your perspective and helps in adopting more constructive beliefs. Affirmations and Visualisation : Use positive affirmations and visualisation techniques to reprogram your subconscious mind. This helps in replacing negative beliefs with empowering ones. 4. The Role of Childhood Programming Our early experiences shape our belief systems and, consequently, our reality. To transcend these programmed limitations: Inner Child Work : Engage in practices that heal the wounded inner child. Visualisations, dialogues, and creative expression can reconnect you with your inner child, facilitating healing. Reparenting : Provide yourself with the nurturing and validation that you may have lacked during childhood. This involves affirming your worth and creating a supportive inner dialogue. Community and Support : Surround yourself with individuals who support your growth and reinforce positive beliefs. Community healing can be powerful in reprogramming our minds. 5. The Creative Power of the Word The mind's creative power begins with the word. Words shape our thoughts, which in turn shape our reality: Conscious Language : Be mindful of your language. Speak positively and constructively about yourself and your circumstances. Avoid negative self-talk and limiting phrases. Mantras and Prayers : Incorporate mantras and prayers into your daily routine. These practices harness the power of words to align your mind with higher intentions. Writing and Reflection : Regularly write about your experiences, aspirations, and reflections. This practice clarifies your thoughts and reinforces positive beliefs. Integrating the Wisdom of Carl Jung and George Gurdjieff Carl Jung's work emphasises the importance of integrating the unconscious aspects of the psyche to achieve wholeness. His concept of individuation is the process of becoming aware of oneself, including the shadow aspects, to realise one's full potential. Jung stated, "Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate." George Gurdjieff, on the other hand, focused on the idea of waking up from our mechanical, automatic ways of living. He introduced the concept of self-remembering and the necessity of conscious effort to transcend our habitual behaviours and achieve higher states of consciousness. Gurdjieff's teachings remind us that true self-transformation requires persistent and deliberate effort. The journey of transforming oneself and one's reality is deeply personal and multifaceted. By understanding the connection between our inner states and external experiences, we can engage in meaningful self-work. This involves identifying and healing internal causes, transforming limiting beliefs, and harnessing the creative power of the mind. Wisdom from various traditions, including the insights of Carl Jung and George Gurdjieff, can guide and support us in this transformative process, ultimately leading to a more aligned and fulfilling life. • A reflection: Pluto in the 4th House

Part 1 What is the nature of Pluto? Renn Butler, in his tome The Archetypal Universe, contrasts The Sun which in astrology represents the light, with Pluto which corresponds to the dark or the shadow elements in the unconscious. Pluto relates to processes of breakdown, destruction and creation. Impulses towards regeneration and transformation. Volcanic feelings. Pluto represents our struggle to confront and transform the shadow side of our psyches, which for many people involves working through leftover physical and emotional traumas - such as the events of childhood or the life threatening experience of birth with its deep imprint of human vulnerability and mortality. Pluto’s influence can feel ruthless and brutal. But it is a necessary part of a profoundly liberating process. My transits: January 26th 2008 11.33am Pluto entered my fourth house just as I was preparing to wed my long term partner and father of my two children. I felt huge resistance to the wedding and couldn’t find any enthusiasm for planning it. In the few days before I experienced huge doubt, not helped by the fact that my wedding dress, that I’d had handmade, was hideous and had to be replaced with just a day to go. An ominous sign if ever there was one. But I was not one for self reflection of any kind at that point. In fact I was a master at denial. I was doing what I thought I should do, what you’re supposed to do when you have a lovely house and children with someone. Of course it was the right thing to do. I shoved down the nagging feelings that this was not how planning a wedding should feel. And I squashed the thoughts that the relationship wasn’t healthy and I wasn’t happy. Deep down, in a hidden part of me that only peeked out when watching a romantic film or glimpsing enthusiastic lovers in the park, I longed for a glorious romance. For unbridled passion. For undying love. But that was for other people. I was fine with what I had and where I was… Pluto entered my fourth house like a slow rumble of thunder in the distance. A storm was brewing. But at that point it was too quiet to be concerned about. Part 2 What does the 4th house represent? In traditional astrology the fourth house is named The Subterranean Angle for its place at the very bottom of our chart and as such, representing us at our base; our roots, our sense of security, of safety, of home. Being on an angle it is a powerful place and when the Gods wind up here in the birth chart or by transit, they tend to shout. From Carole Taylor’s, Astrology: The 4th house describes both our concept of ‘home’ as a place of retreat and belonging as well as bricks and mortar. It will reflect the role your home fulfils for you, sanctity, security or a place you lay your hat. Here we find an inner centre of gravity, our place of sanctuary. It reveals what we’re like when the front door is closed and we are no longer on show to the world. My transits: January 27th 2010 11.33am You’d think it would be obvious to a person that they were living a life they would never have chosen for themselves, in a home that looked good from the outside but felt anything but good on the inside. But normal, is normal. And even difficult environments are safe and comfortable in a funny kind of way. It was only in the quiet moments, 3am whilst my tiny girl slept next to me, her little body tucked up under my arm, that the thoughts crept in. A fantasy: of a little house of my own. Just me and the kids. My fantasy was very simple: A peaceful life. I may have continued that way forever; not questioning whether I was in the right place and how I felt about where I was. But Pluto had other plans. One day someone asked me how I was and didn’t accept my usual response of, “I’m fine”. In fact, they told me that was bullshit, I wasn’t fine, I was anything but fine. And, for the first time, maybe in my whole life, I wondered if perhaps they were right and asked myself how I really felt. That storm that was rumbling in the distance? Two years after Pluto entered my fourth house, the lightening started and my foundations started to crack. Part 3 Aspects to the natal chart: 1, Pluto opposite Saturn. My natal Saturn in at 0 degrees 18 minutes of Cancer in my 10th house and Pluto first opposed it exactly, on the 4th of February 2008. ‘Saturn is the God of Authority and Maturity. Saturn is serious and formal, honouring traditions, limits, and rules. Saturn in Cancer suggests a strong sense of duty and responsibility in you towards anyone (or anything) placed in your care.’ Carole Taylor, Astrology. My transits: February 4th 2008 2.30pm Saturn is the greater malefic of a night chart (like mine). When a God can ‘see’ another God by aspect, they have the potential to act as witnesses to each others significations and provide testimony regarding certain matters or topics. Antiochus (Hellenistic astrologer) holds that the opposition is adversarial, even worse if one of the stars is a malefic. When Saturn approached His return and I approached my 30th birthday (in 2002-3), all I could think about was having a baby. It’s all I wanted. We’d never talked about having children and all we really had going for us in terms of relationship was that we’d been in one for a long time. I pushed aside any thoughts that we may not be suited or stable enough to build a family on and pushed us into it, following my heart's desire for a child over my head’s and Saturn’s nudge, to really think this one through. So, it’s no surprise that seven years later, now our children were three and six, and our relationship was still far from stable and supportive, when Pluto’s rays hit on my Saturn, those truths I should have considered at the time started to rise to the surface. We married in June 2008, shortly after Pluto passed through another exact opposition, this time moving backward. I stood alone at the bar as our guests partied after the service and tried my hardest to get drunk. I failed. There was no escaping the feeling that this had been a mistake. By December 2008, when Pluto made a final exact opposition to my natal Saturn, I was cultivating alone time. Evenings to myself after the children were asleep were what I longed for most and I spent most of them watching old romance movies. Was I looking for inspiration? Or torturing myself? To be continued.

  • Pluto's Journey Through Capricorn

What does Pluto govern? Richard Tarnas, in his highly respected book, ' Cosmos and Psyche ', summarises the consensus of thought about Pluto as thus: Pluto is associated with the principle of elemental power, depth and intensity; with that which compels, empowers, and intensifies whatever it touches, sometimes to overwhelming and catastrophic extremes; with the primordial instincts, libidinal and aggressive, destructive and regenerative, volcanic and cathartic, eliminative, transformative, ever-evolving; with the biological processes of birth, sex and death, the cycle of death and rebirth; with upheaval, breakdown, decay, and fertilisation; violent purgatorial discharge of pent-up energies, purifying fire; situations of life-and-death extremes, power struggles, all that is titanic, potent, and massive. Pluto represents the underworld and underground in all senses: elemental, geological, instinctual, political, social, sexual, urban, criminal, mythological, demonic. It is the dark, mysterious, taboo, and often terrifying reality that lurks beneath the surface of things, beneath the ego, societal conventions, and the veneer of civilisation, beneath the surface of the Earth, that is periodically unleashed with destructive and transformative force. Pluto impels, burns, consumes, transfigures, resurrects. Renn Butler, in his tome ' The Archetypal Universe ' , contrasts The Sun, which in astrology represents the light, with Pluto , which corresponds to the dark or the shadow elements in the unconscious. Pluto relates to processes of breakdown, destruction and creation and impulses towards regeneration and transformation. What is the nature of Capricorn? Capricorn , ruled by Saturn, is of the element of Earth, and the cardinal modality. Capricorn is feminine, nocturnal, and dry. It is associated with qualities such as stability, practicality, and a sense of responsibility. Being a cardinal sign, Capricorn is associated with initiation and leadership. Saturn, the ruling planet of Capricorn , brings themes of discipline, structure, and a sense of duty to the sign. Individuals born under Capricorn may be perceived as hardworking, organised, and persistent in their pursuits. They are thought to possess a strong drive for success and achievement, often willing to overcome obstacles through patient and determined efforts. Capricorn is symbolised by the Sea Goat, representing the ability to navigate both the realms of the material world (Earth) and the emotional or spiritual realms (Water). This dual nature suggests a practical approach to emotional and spiritual matters. In terms of the body, Capricorn is traditionally associated with the knees, suggesting that individuals born under this sign may need to pay attention to their knee health or may find vulnerability in this area. We all have Capricorn in our chart, whether it is highlighted by the location and Gods placed in it, or not. The house in which Capricorn lands will take on this nature, and the way the topics of that house play out in our lives, will relate to the characteristics described. Pluto's Orbit Pluto has a very slow orbit, taking about 248 years to complete one full revolution around the Sun. This means that during our lifetime we will only experience Pluto transits through a few signs, and each sign (and house in our chart) will be traversed only once. When Pluto transits through a sign, it brings a profound and transformative energy to the themes inherent in its nature which affects us on a worldly level as well as personally. Pluto's transit through Capricorn Pluto entered Capricorn on the 26th of January 2008 and leaves finally on the 20th of November 2024. Pluto has spent most of 2024 in Aquarius but is currently in the process of returning to Capricorn, arriving on September the 3rd 2024 to spend a final 12 weeks in the sign. • Anapodismos: Walking backward (otherwise known as retrograde)

Contents: Introduction What is Anapodismos (retrograde)? How can we interpret a retrograde planet? How can we interpret this particular Mercury retrograde? What opportunities for self growth and expansion does this retrograde offer? How can you grasp the opportunities depending on your rising sign? Ancient philosophers believed the Earth sat in the centre of an ordered system where seven stars wandered between a plethora of fixed stars and the Earth. These seven celestial bodies were considered divine archetypes, Gods, whose movements, representing divine will, had a direct relationship with the mortals who populated the Earth. The wandering stars didn't move in regular motion, they went backwards and forwards, north and south across the sky and sometimes disappeared from sight altogether. These "planetary Gods were rollicking about the heavens, travelling to different celestial palaces, engaging in friendly and adversarial relations, and ever negotiating about the fates of the mortals below, whose lives were under their jurisdiction." [excerpt from Demetra George's , Ancient Astrology in theory and practice ] When the Gods appeared in the night sky it was believed they were professing their desires to humanity. The role of the astrologer was to carefully interpret what the Gods were saying and communicate their wishes and intentions to the leaders of the time so they could rule in accordance with divine will. Retrogrades Science tells us that " retrograde motion is the apparent motio n of a planet in a direction opposite to that of other bodies within its system, as observed from a particular vantage point. Ancient Greek astronomer Ptolemy (150 AD) believed that the Earth was the centre of the Solar System and therefore used the terms retrograde and prograde (direct motion) to describe the movement of the planets in relation to the stars as they are observed from Earth. Like the Sun, the planets appear to rise in the East and set in the West. When a planet travels eastward in relation to the stars, it is called prograde. When the planet travels westward in relation to the stars (opposite path) it is called retrograde." [Wikipedia] We now understand that retrograde motion is an illusion. Retrogrades occur when the Earth is passing, or being passed, by other planets. The appearance of retrograde motion happens due to the relative difference in the speed of orbit around the Sun. Diagram: The Earth (blue) passes a superior planet such as Mars (red), the superior planet will temporarily appear to reverse its motion across the sky. [ Wikipedia ] Retrograde , from the Latin 'retrogradus' means going backward . Astrology stems from ancient teachings whose practitioners saw the world as it is, and learned to interpret it as it is. We all have a unique perspective. We are all experiencing our own universes and every universe looks a little different. Does what is happening within our wider universe have the capacity to affect us? Can an illusory planetary effect have any bearing on our experience? In order to determine this, to form our own conclusions and make our own judgements, we need to have an expectation of what might happen, of how we may be affected. If a God appears to be walking backward then how can that be interpreted? There isn't a great deal of discourse amongst the surviving Hellenistic texts concerning the meaning of the backward motion of the Gods, however most agree that there is a detrimental effect on their power, indicating delays in the manifestation of their will. Vettius Valens (c.120 CE to c.175 CE), 'the single most important source for studying the Hellenistic tradition, said that when planets are stationing retrograde "they delay expectations, actions, profits and enterprises." When planets are in the retrograde phase they are " weakened ", " restrained " or " hindered " giving only "appearances", or "hopes" which he seemed to imply are illusory. When a planet moves direct it "removes the hindrances and restores and leads to the stability and rectification of life".' [ Hellenistic Astrology by Chris Brennan ] If we were to contemplate what the meaning could be, based on what we can witness ourselves and how that may be considered symbolically, we may come up with similar significations. We may conclude that as a God slows down and then stops, their will is affected. They may be taking pause to reconsider, or rethink. Something about the direction of forward action is wrong and needs some revision. As they move backwards in motion we may see this as something they need to go back and have another look at. Just as we may pass by something that catches our eye and then return to take a closer look, the God is reversing their trajectory and going back over space they've already travelled through. Perhaps we too need to take pause and take another look at something? Perhaps we need to tread some old ground in order to refresh our perspective in order to be able to move forward anew? Retrograde = Revisions and Reversals Mercury Retrogrades 2024: 13 December 2023 – 1 January 2024 in Sagittarius 1st April 2024 - 25th April 2024 in Aries. 5th August 2024 - 29th August in Virgo and Leo. In December 2024 Mercury goes retrograde in Sagittarius. In order to interpret how this Mercury retrograde may affect our experiences here on Earth, we need to put the symbolism of walking backward within the context of what Mercury represents and has dominion over, and where They are currently residing in the zodiac. The house in which they are situated in your chart will have bearing on the experiences affected and the area of life they are likely to land in. Pictured is Mercury's Cazimi, the rebirth moment of the cycle when Mercury is in the heart of the Sun. Mercury will continue walking backward until the 29th of August. Mercury , messenger of the Gods, is the God of thought and communication, our faculties of perception and insight, teaching and learning, commerce, travellers, trickery, and thieves. This retrograde They begin in their own palace of Virgo before going back into The Sun's palace Leo , The Lion. Virgo is the double-bodied, yin, earth temple of Mercury, representing the domicile and exaltation of this planet, as well as the sign of the Virgin. Despite the light of summer still being dominant, the season begins its transformation in Virgo, ultimately giving way to the dark side of the year as autumn commences. Mercury rules over the transition into darkness and its eventual takeover. Consequently, Virgo is associated with themes such as meticulousness, purity, and preparedness; discrimination, rationality, and judgement; forgiveness, anxiety, and grace; helpfulness, craftiness, and resourcefulness; as well as magic, initiation, youth, and descent. This sign symbolises preparation for judgement, harvest, death, and the descent into the underworld. Leo, the solid, yang, fire temple of the Sun, is symbolised by the lion. This sign encompasses themes of loyalty, regality, and authority, reflecting its noble and authoritative nature. Leo is also associated with transcendence, eternity, and spirit, highlighting its quest for significance and enduring impact. The sign embodies concepts of legacy, nobility, and fame, striving for recognition and honour. However, Leo also grapples with more challenging traits such as lust, jealousy, tyranny, and arrogance. Ultimately, Leo represents the need for transcendence amid impermanence, decline, and inevitable future loss, seeking to rise above temporal limitations. More specifically you may be told: Mercury Retrograde in Virgo: When Mercury retrogrades in Virgo, its influence is especially potent due to Virgo being Mercury's domicile and exaltation. Mercury Retrograde in Leo: During Mercury retrograde in Leo, issues related to self-expression, creativity, and leadership come to the forefront. Communication can become more dramatic and misunderstandings might arise in contexts where pride and ego are involved. Creative projects may face delays or require revision, and there could be a tendency towards misjudging situations due to overconfidence. This retrograde encourages a re-evaluation of how one projects their identity and talents. It's an ideal time to reconnect with authentic passions and refine personal goals. However, it's important to avoid making impulsive decisions based on vanity or the need for attention. Reflecting on true desires and motivations can lead to more genuine and fulfilling self-expression post-retrograde. However, Mercury Retrograde periods, despite their reputation for causing disruptions, can be powerful times for introspection, self-work, and inner transformation. Here are some positive ways to use the Mercury retrograde periods in Virgo and Leo: Mercury Retrograde in Virgo from the 5th to the 15th of August: Refine Daily Routines:  Use this time to review and improve your daily habits and routines. • Mars in Aries: 30/04 to 09/06

Mars Mars' orbital period is approximately two years, meaning Mars usually spends two month's in each sign. Greek Ares was the God of warfare, bloodlust, and slaughter. His Roman counterpart Mars however was honoured for his warrior spirit, courage, and military skill. 'Mars is the energy that spurs us into action and allows us to further our ambitions.' Carole Taylor 'The Mars archetype is behind our biological urges to take action and assert ourselves, to go out and participate in life, gratify our material and sexual needs and protect ourselves during times of threat. It underlies our drives to pursue the things we want, and to actively avoid the things and experiences we don't want. The negative qualities related to Mars, such as aggression, competition and rash actions, present many problems in the spiritual quest, tying up our attention in cycles of hurt and revenge, and delaying the healing process.' Renn Butler 'Mars is the principle of energetic force; the impulse and capacity to assert, to act and move energetically and forcefully, to have an impact, to press forward and against, to defend and offend, to act with sharpness and ardour; the tendency to experience aggressiveness, anger, conflict, harm, violence, forceful physical energy; to be combative, competitive, courageous, vigorous; Ares, the God of war.' Richard Tarnas Mars key words: Energetic force Assertiveness Action and movement Vigorous pursuit Competitive spirit Mars in your chart The influence of Mars will be felt according to where He resides and His conversations with the other Gods and their placements in your chart. ' Competition : We might feel inspired to compete in a number of ways; through oratory, sport, as leaders, teachers, or in battles of supremacy with close partners. Mars symbolises our instinct to survive - not just our physical strength, but the heat and energy that spur us to action. Warrior : Here is the archetype of the warrior and the fighting spirit vital to life. When we are under threat, it is this function in our chart that supplies us with the courage to defend our territory. Sexual drive : Mars also describes sexual drive; it shows our physical needs in this respect and the universal urge to spread our seed. Energy : By extension, mars will also indicate how we refresh and release physical energy in more general terms, through sport and exercise. Some prefer the slow burn of yoga, others the fast paced action of a tennis match or the long distance slog of a marathon. Your Mars suggests whether your energy is laser-like or uncontained, static or erratic. Courage : Mars inspires us to feats of courage and heroism, each in our own unique style. Bravery can be shown in many ways - physical, mental, emotional, intellectual - and your Mars suggests where and how you may be prepared to "go the extra mile" to succeed. Under the auspices of Mars come life's pioneers, conquerors, entrepreneurs, adventurers, and sportsmen; but we should not forget that, in small ways, we each show these qualities daily in our own lives. Courage comes in many different forms, and we are all capable of great strength.' Carole Taylor - Astrology: Using the wisdom of the stars in your everyday life Aries 'Aries is the tropical, yang, fire temple of Mars. Aries is the domicile of Mars and the exaltation of the Sun and the sign of the Ram. In this sign the light dominates, triumphs, or takes over from the dark. Hence the following themes are associated with Aries: Bravery, courage, and victory Assertiveness, confrontation, and dominance Aggression, fear, and hostility Selfishness, intemperance, and conflict. Aries is also a sign related to youth and independence. Adam Elenbaas - Nightlight Astrology 'As the first sign of the zodiac Aries is strong and vital, reflecting the vigour of its totem animal, the ram. Positive cardinal fire is extravert, initiatory, and ardent, focusing its energies to get things going. Aries needs action.' Carole Taylor - Astrology: Using the wisdom of the stars in your everyday life Mars in Aries Mars in Aries in the birth chart (Natally) 'Planets in this sign will act spontaneously, with daring - you like to take the initiative in whatever aspect of your life these planets represent.
