- Mars Moves (finally!)
đĽ Mars at 29° Cancer â The Final Moment of a Long, Emotional Initiation Mars has been in Cancer since last autumn. Thatâs a long time for the God of Action to dwell in the watery world of emotion, memory, protection, and need. Normally, He spends just two months in a sign. But this time, He lingered. He turned backwards. He re-trod old ground. And now, at the 29th degree, the anaretic degree (one that's understood to be a tad challenging if I'm honest), He is preparing to leave. But not before marking the ending. In traditional astrology, Mars is in His fall in Cancer. Why? Because Cancer is the Moonâs home, a place of softness, vulnerability, and internal tides. Mars wants to act, to cut, to move. But here, He is submerged. Blunted. Emotionalised. The sword gets rusty in salt water. Action becomes reaction. Anger turns to tears. Defence masquerades as retreat. This has not been easy energy. And weâve all felt it, no matter where Cancer sits in your chart, because the Moon has been hosting a restless, frustrated, and often overwhelmed guest. And Sheâs had to make space for Him for over six months. This week, His visit ends. This is the final moment of a long emotional initiation. One thatâs taken us deep into the places weâd rather protect or hide. The parts of us that lash out when weâre scared. That feel things too deeply to speak. That would rather withdraw than confront, but end up resenting in silence. Weâve all been learning how to hold our emotional fire. How to honour it. How to not  abandon ourselves in the storm. What might we notice? Sudden tiredness or emotional exhaustion - like somethingâs finally hit you A sense that something old is coming to a head: a conversation, a boundary, a grief Emotional reactions that are bigger than the moment, because theyâre about what came before Moments of deep clarity about what you canât  carry anymore How to meet this moment: Let yourself feel . Not to spiral, but to honour the truth that wants expression. Cry in the bath. Speak the unspoken. Move your body. Burn the journal page. Recognise that youâve been walking through a long story arc, and this is the close. Mars will move on. Into Leo, where He regains fire, clarity, momentum. But before that happens, He asks you to lay something down. Something youâve been holding. Something thatâs no longer yours. Reflection: What has this long transit through Cancer shown me about how I express anger, desire, and drive? Where have I been emotionally stuck? And what do I now have the courage to release? This is a sacred goodbye. Let it be felt. Let it be holy. Let it be complete. đ How Transits Affect Us Differently â A Quick Guide for Beginners The sky is always moving. And while the energy of a transit, like Mars finishing His time in Cancer, is the same for all of us, it doesnât land in the same place  in every chart. Your birth chart is like a snapshot of the sky the moment you were born. Itâs your unique map. When a current planet (like Mars) activates a part of that map, it stirs something in you, an area of your life, a memory, a part of your identity. This is why the same transit can show up differently for different people. So how do we get more personal with the astrology? We look to our rising sign . This tells us which area of life Mars has been stirring up these past months. Hereâs a quick guide to what this might have meant for you: đ Mars in Cancer by Rising Sign: Aries Rising  â Home, family, emotional roots.  Have you been protecting something fiercely? Renovating the past, literally or symbolically? Taurus Rising  â Communication, siblings, thought patterns.  Old stories may have risen for release. Did you speak your truth, or did you hold it in? Gemini Rising  â Money, resources, self-worth.  What are you fighting for financially? What value are you defending or reclaiming? Cancer Rising  â Your sense of self.  This oneâs been personal. Youâve likely been learning when to fight for yourself, and when to soften. Leo Rising  â Hidden fears, dreams, healing.  Much of this may have happened behind the scenes. Emotional excavation. Spiritual work. Whatâs ready to be brought to light? Virgo Rising  â Friendships, community, future vision.  Have you had to rework who belongs in your life? What dreams no longer fit? Libra Rising  â Career, visibility, leadership.  Emotional honesty in public life. Redefining success. Did you fight to be seen, or withdraw to protect yourself? Scorpio Rising  â Beliefs, higher learning, long journeys.  A soulful reckoning with meaning. What do you believe in now that you didnât last autumn? Sagittarius Rising  â Shared resources, grief, transformation.  This oneâs deep. What have you been letting go of that once felt like part of you? Capricorn Rising  â Relationships, contracts, commitments.  Mars here may have brought friction or clarity. What are you ready to renegotiate, or release? Aquarius Rising  â Daily routines, work, health.  Burnout and body wisdom. What habits have helped you cope, and which ones need to go? Pisces Rising  â Creativity, pleasure, children, joy.  Mars here tests how free you feel to express and enjoy life. Have you allowed yourself to want what you want? If you don't know your rising sign and would like to then contact me here and give me your birth details (date, time and place) and I will send you a FREE digital picture and an overview of your rising sign. Wherever Mars has been walking in your chart, this final moment is a threshold. Let yourself notice whatâs ending. Whatâs ready to change. The Gods speak through our lived experience. This is one of those moments where, if we pause, we can hear Them clearly. What are They saying to you? A note on AI & my writing: I use ChatGPT as a writing assistantânot as a writer. These are my thoughts, ideas, and words, shaped by my lived experience and deep love for self-work, self-awareness, the spiritual journey, and astrology. AI helps me refine, structure, and nudge me toward better phrasing, but the voice youâre reading is mine. I use it as a tool to help me put into words everything I believe is valuable in sharing my insights. Honesty matters to me, and this is simply one way I bring my thoughts to life.
- Rewrite the Script: Embracing Venus Retrograde for Love and Healing
Venus Retrograde: A Chance to Rewrite Your Love Story Venus Retrograde: Rewriting the Love Story Just over seven years ago, when Venus last moved backwards through Aries, I chose to relive and heal an almost love story that had left me disillusioned a number of years before. That inner journey set things in motion in ways I couldnât have predicted, bringing me to this moment, to this contemplation on Venus retrograde. The possibility of a grand love that had once set my soul on fire is what ultimately pushed me to face myself in ways I never could have imagined back then. And now, on the first day of this retrograde, I saw him. Not in memory, not in dreams, but in the flesh. Just long enough for the past to flare in my body before disappearing like smoke. And in that moment, I knew. I had healed. This is what Venus Retrograde does. It takes us back. Not for punishment, not to relive old wounds for the sake of suffering, but to show us whatâs ready to be rewritten. The Venus Retrograde Cycle: A 40-Day Descent Venus, the principle of desire, love, beauty, and value, is the force within us that draws us toward what we find beautiful, meaningful, and fulfilling. She is the impulse to attract and be attracted, to seek love and harmony, to create beauty in the world around us. Venus represents Eros, the force of love and connection, and Aphrodite, the goddess who embodies love in all its forms. As Richard Tarnas beautifully writes in Cosmos and Psyche , Venus is the principle of the Beautiful, She is the very pulse that makes us reach out for connection, pleasure, and affection. But when Venus turns retrograde, this principle turns inward. Itâs like Venus pauses to reflect on the love weâve experienced, the relationships weâve had, and the ways in which we engage with beauty and affection in our lives. This is an opportunity to stop and take a deeper look at the patterns and lessons in our love stories, whether weâre in a relationship or single. It's a chance to rewrite our ongoing story and heal old wounds that have kept us from loving freely. Venus turns retrograde about every 18 months, retracing Her steps for 40 days. This isnât random. Itâs a cycle woven through time, a rhythm that repeats in eight-year patterns. This particular retrograde - March 1st to April 12th - begins in Aries, the sign of raw, unfiltered initiation, before slipping back into Pisces, the sign of surrender. If Aries is the fire starter, Pisces is the ocean that dissolves. This is a rare chance to begin again. The Stages of Venus Retrograde Phase 1: The Shadow Period (Feb 7 - Mar 1)  â Venus first enters the degrees She will soon revisit. Themes begin surfacing. Old desires, old wounds, old patterns whisper for attention. Phase 2: The Descent (Mar 1 - Apr 12)  â Venus begins Her retrograde. This is when things get real. Encounters with the past, ex-lovers, forgotten dreams, old wounds, may appear physically, emotionally, or through memories that wonât let go. In Aries, She asks: Where have you lost yourself in love? Where have you given too much or taken too much? The Heart of the Retrograde: March 23  â Venus disappears from the evening sky and enters the heart of The Sun. This is Her rebirth moment. The old story meets the fire. Transformation happens here, even if you canât see it yet. Phase 3: The Return (Apr 12 - May 18)  â Venus moves forward again, first in Pisces, then back into Aries. This is the integration. The rewriting. The stepping into something new - if youâve done the work. How to Work with Venus Retrograde Hereâs how you can make the most of this retrograde period to rewrite your own love story: Reflect on your past relationships:  What patterns have you noticed? Have you found yourself attracting similar types of people or repeating the same dynamics? Take time to journal or meditate on these questions. Revisit old love stories:  What parts of these stories no longer serve you? Sometimes, itâs not just about the people in our past, but about the way we view love itself. Are there any unhealthy beliefs or expectations youâre ready to let go of? Heal old wounds:  If there are wounds from childhood or past relationships that are keeping you stuck, now is the time to face them. Whether through therapy, self-reflection, or self-compassion, this is a time to release the emotional baggage thatâs been weighing you down. Be open to new ways of loving:  Venus retrograde isnât just about releasing the old, itâs also about making space for the new. Open your heart to new possibilities in love, whether that means healing your relationship with yourself, deepening your current relationship, or being open to new connections. Practice self-love:  The foundation of any healthy relationship starts with self-love. Venus retrograde encourages us to reconnect with our own sense of value and beauty. Spend time nurturing yourself, doing things that make you feel good, and remembering that you are worthy of love, in all its forms. The Takeaway Venus retrograde is not a time to fear, but a time to embrace the opportunity to rewrite your love story. It invites us to reflect on the unconscious patterns weâve carried with us and to release what no longer serves us. Whether single or in a relationship, this is your chance to heal old wounds, break free from limiting beliefs, and create a future filled with love, beauty, and harmony. Remember, Venus is the Goddess who brings us the gifts of love and connection, and sheâs offering us a powerful opportunity to transform the way we love. The pen is in your hands - this is your chance to rewrite the love story thatâs been waiting for you. - Deep Inner Work: Navigating Mars and Venus Retrograde
In our journey of inner healing and individuation process, external cosmic events serve as powerful mirrors reflecting our internal landscape. Yet, the transformation ultimately begins within us. While Mars and Venus retrogrades offer symbolic invitations for review, itâs up to us to dive deep into our own psyche and face what needs to be healed. We canât rely solely on the shifting cosmic energies to change us; we must do the work. As the ancient adage goes, âas within, so without.â Mars Retrograde: Unmasking the Masculine Within When Mars turned retrograde, it wasnât just about external setbacks or delays - it was an invitation to scrutinise the areas of our life where our inner warrior, our drive, and our assertiveness have been misaligned or suppressed. Here are some key aspects that might have emerged during this period: Revisiting Unfulfilled Ambitions: The retrograde phase may have forced us to confront the discrepancy between our dreams and the actions weâve taken. You may have found yourself asking, âWhy do I feel stuck?â or âWhatâs really holding me back from moving forward?â This was a call to re-examine our true desires, our goals, and whether our current path resonates with our inner truth. Confronting Internalised Anger and Frustration: Mars governs our energy and assertiveness, and when its flow is disrupted, unresolved anger, resentment, or frustration can surface. Perhaps you encountered recurring conflicts - either external or internal - that made you question long-held beliefs about power, control, and your ability to assert yourself. This was a critical moment to learn how to channel anger into constructive action. Healing the Wounds of Over-Responsibility: For many, the retrograde coincided with the pressures of daily responsibilities that weighed heavily on the spirit - be it a stifling job, burdensome relationships, or the overwhelming expectations of society. This period was a mirror reflecting the need to reclaim personal power and reassess what truly matters, even if it means letting go of roles that no longer serve your growth. Reassessing Self-Worth and Boundaries: Marsâs retrograde may have highlighted where youâve been compromising your boundaries or not asserting your needs fully. The discomfort felt during this time was a reminder that building and maintaining healthy boundaries is essential for your self-worth and personal evolution. Venus Retrograde in Aries: The Feminine Call to Inner Reflection As Marsâ energy readied itself for forward momentum, Venus is now retrograde in Aries (Mars' own sign) - a placement that calls for a deep dive into the realm of love, self-worth, and relational dynamics. Hereâs what this phase might be inviting us to explore: Re-examining Self-Love and Authenticity: Venus symbolises beauty, love, and our inner sense of worth. In retrograde, especially within the bold sign of Aries, you might find yourself questioning your definitions of love - both for yourself and others. This is a time to evaluate whether youâre truly honouring your needs or if youâve been conforming to external expectations at the expense of your authenticity. Healing Relationship Patterns: Retrograde Venus challenges us to look at the patterns weâve repeated in our relationships. This may involve acknowledging how past wounds or unmet needs have shaped your interactions with partners, friends, or even family members. Consider whether youâre attracting the same types of relationships because of unresolved issues, and ask yourself what new, healthier patterns might look like. Redefining Passion and Desire: Aries is known for its assertive, pioneering spirit. With Venus retrograde in this dynamic sign, youâre encouraged to boldly question what ignites your passion. Are you pursuing relationships and endeavours out of habit or societal pressure, or do they truly resonate with your inner truth? This phase is a powerful opportunity to recalibrate your desires and set intentions that are aligned with who you are at your core. Integrating Both Energies Within: While it may seem like Mars and Venus represent separate energies - the masculine and the feminine - remember that these forces exist within every one of us. The introspection called for by Venus retrograde is as much about understanding your inner softness, vulnerability, and nurturing qualities as it is about cultivating strength and resilience. This balanced integration is essential for authentic love and connection. The Imperative of Inner Work: Itâs All Within Both Mars and Venus retrogrades underscore an enduring truth: true transformation begins from within. External planetary movements may nudge us, but they cannot enact lasting change unless we are willing to do the inner work. This is a call to: Face Your Shadows: Embrace the discomfort that arises during these retrograde phases. Whether itâs anger from unresolved conflicts or the pain of old relationship wounds, allowing these emotions to surface is the first step toward healing. Re-evaluate Your Beliefs: Question long-held beliefs about your worth, your power, and your place in the world. Ask yourself if these beliefs serve your highest good, or if they are remnants of past conditioning that must be released. Commit to Continuous Self-Growth: Recognise that ascension is not a one-time event but an ongoing journey. Each retrograde offers a fresh opportunity to refine your inner world, thereby transforming your outer reality. Embody Balance: Integrate both your inner masculine and feminine energies. Whether youâre feeling the assertive drive of Mars or the reflective call of Venus, remember that the harmony between these forces is where true magic happens. Itâs not about choosing one over the other - itâs about embracing both in their full complexity. Conclusion: Embracing the Journey Toward Individuation The recent Mars retrograde provided a mirror into the depths of our personal power, urging us to confront and heal the inner wounds that stifle our progress. Now, with Venus retrograde in Aries, the call is to address the emotional and relational aspects of our being. The essence of this cosmic dance is simple yet profound: nothing changes until we are willing to change within. As you stand at the crossroads of these transformative energies, remember that the divine duo - like every part of your soul - are a reflection of the universal balance. In healing your inner world, you catalyse transformation in your external reality. Embrace the journey with courage and vulnerability, for the path to individuation is forged in the fires of inner work. Ultimately, when we truly embody the truth of âas within, so without,â we unlock the power to create a life of authenticity, love, and boundless possibility. - Let the Fire Go Out: The Stories That Keep Us Stuck
The Stories We Tell Ourselves There are stories we live by, stories we whisper to ourselves in the dark, stories we carry like shields against pain. Stories that tell us our sacrifices matter, that our devotion is necessary, that without our effort, the world would fall apart. The Virgo Eclipses are beginning now, and this first one is tugging at those old narrativesâthe ones that have convinced us we must hold everything together . That without us, the sacred fire would go out, and with it, everything we hold dear. But what if itâs just a story? The Virgins Who Keep the Fire Once upon a time, there were women who lived in quiet halls, bound to a sacred duty. They were the Virgins who tended the fireâday and night, never letting the flames die. They told themselves this fire was the heart of the world, that without it, life as they knew it would end. They lived by discipline and devotion. They were admired, even revered. And yet, they watched from behind closed doors as others lived, as others loved. They told themselves it was worth it. They told themselves they had chosen this. But deep in the night, did they ever wonder? Did they press a hand to their chest and feel something missing? Did they ever long to be free, to walk away from the fire and into the arms of someone who saw them ânot as keepers of duty, but as people with hearts and desires of their own? Did they ever dare to ask: What if the world would keep turning even if I left? Virgoâs Eclipse & The Fear of Letting Go The Gods are speaking this week, and They are not whispering. Venus, the Goddess of Love, is moving backwards, retracing Her steps, questioning everything we thought we knew about love, worth, and what we deserve . Mercury, the storyteller, is about to turn too, stopping mid-sentence before heading back over old ground. And then thereâs the Blood Moon in Virgo, roaring through the sky on Friday. The South Node Eclipse. The release point. The moment of surrender. Virgo is the part of us that serves , that sacrifices, that stays up late doing the work no one else will do. But sometimes, Virgo becomes a martyr without realising it. Sometimes, we keep the fire burning because we fear  what would happen if we let it go out. And so we tell ourselves stories to keep the pain away: I have to stay. I have to be the one who holds it all together. If I donât do it, no one else will. But what if thatâs not true? What if the world wonât collapse if we step away? What if the fire was never ours  to keep? The Conversations Between the Gods Venus and Mars had a conversation today. She, walking backwards, He, standing in the doorway of the future. She asked, What do you really want?  He shrugged, I donât know yet. She will slip back into Pisces soon, back into the dream, back into the feeling, pulling Mercury with Her. And Mercury, the Trickster, will slow to a stop, turn on His heels, and follow. Not yet,  Heâll say. Not so fast. This moment is extending. A loop. A story we must go back over before we can move on. And then the Moon will turn red, and Virgo will rise, asking: Are you ready to release the old ways? Because this isnât just about love. Itâs about all the places where we put duty before ourselves. All the times weâve told ourselves we have to  instead of we want to . The belief that sacrifice is noble, that letting go means failing, that if we stop tending the fire, weâll have nothing left. But thatâs not truth . Thatâs fear . The Stories We Tell Ourselves So this week, ask yourself: đ What does your head say to protect your heart? Do you tell yourself they werenât ready? That it wasnât the right time? That if you just hold on a little longer, things will change? đ Can you trust your heart is safe without the cushion of the story? Can you face reality as it is, without rewriting it into something easier to bear? đĽ Can you let your heart feel what it needs toâgrieve, rant, breakâand trust youâll be okay? Can you let go of the need to fix, to explain, to control? đ Can you trust in an unknown future? Can you take off the safety netsâthe ones that arenât real anywayâand step forward without knowing exactly whatâs next? We are heading back into Pisces. This is not a time for logic, for neat answers, for certainty. This is a time for trust. A time to let go of what we thought we had  to be, and instead, open ourselves to what we could  be. Because real loveâthe love Virgo longs for but often deniesâonly comes when we choose ourselves  first. So let the fire go out. The world will keep turning. And you? You were never meant to be a martyr. You were meant to be free to choose the life you want . And with that Aries fire - go out and claim it. â Virgo Eclipse Through the Houses đ The Traditional House Delineations This Full Moon Eclipse in Virgo (âđ)  is about letting go of duty, obligation, and the stories we tell ourselves to justify staying where we are . Depending on where Virgo sits in your chart, that duty may show up in different areas of life. â 1st House (Virgo Rising): Letting go of the need to be the one whoâs always âtogether.â Youâve built an identity around competence and service, but what if you donât have to hold everything up on your own? Who are you when you release control? â 2nd House (Leo Rising): Letting go of old beliefs about worth and security. Are you clinging to financial stability or external validation as proof of your value? Can you trust that youâre enough even when you stop proving it? â 3rd House (Cancer Rising): Letting go of the need to be the one who always has the right words. The sibling, the friend, the communicatorâhave you been speaking for  others rather than for  yourself? Are you ready to shift the story you tell about your life? â 4th House (Gemini Rising): Letting go of the role youâve played in family dynamics. Have you been the one who holds it all together, who fixes, who nurtures at your own expense? What if home is meant to feel safe for you too ? â 5th House (Taurus Rising): Letting go of perfectionism in creativity, romance, and joy. Have you convinced yourself you need to earn  fun? That love has to follow certain rules? That your creative work must be flawless before it can be shared? What if you just expressed without fear ? â 6th House (Aries Rising): Letting go of work and routine that isnât serving you. Are you over-identifying with being busy, productive, useful? Do you say yes  to things out of obligation? What if your health, well-being, and rest  mattered more? â 7th House (Pisces Rising): Letting go of outdated relationship dynamics. Have you been the fixer, the helper, the one who does the work? Have you shaped yourself to be what others need? What if love was meant to be equal, not a duty ? â 8th House (Aquarius Rising): Letting go of emotional debts and fears around intimacy. Have you been carrying othersâ baggage? Do you stay in entanglements because theyâre familiar? Are you afraid of whatâs on the other side of surrender ? â 9th House (Capricorn Rising): Letting go of rigid belief systems. Have you been clinging to an idea of ârightâ and âwrong,â or forcing a life path that no longer fits? What if you allowed yourself to explore something new ? â 10th House (Sagittarius Rising): Letting go of duty to career, reputation, or expectations. Have you built a life around what you should  do rather than what you want ? - The Virgo Eclipse: Letting Go of the Fight
"I am just a poor boy though my storyâs seldom toldâŚ" This song was playing in my mind as I woke, and I couldnât shake the feeling it left behind. A lifetime of striving. A lifetime of standing in the ring, gloves up, ready for the next round. It made me wonderâwhat if we were never meant to fight this hard? The Gods Are Watching The Virgo Eclipse comes with the watchful gaze of Saturn, standing opposite the Moon like an old teacher with arms crossed, measuring the weight of our struggles. The God of Time and Boundaries asks: Where have we restricted ourselves? Where have we swallowed the belief that only through discipline, sacrifice, and relentless effort do we become worthy? And then, there is the Moonâsoft, feeling, full of need. She just is , but under Saturnâs eye, She wonders: Am I enough? Should I be doing more?  She feels the tension between working hard and simply being. Between proving Her worth and trusting that She is already whole. Virgoâs whispers can be relentless. She notices every flaw, every imperfection, every reason why we must keep goingâwhy we must fix  ourselves before we can rest, before we can be loved. Itâs Her nature to seek improvement, to find meaning in the refinement. But under this eclipse, we have to ask: When does self-improvement become self-punishment? We were born into a world that tells us struggle is a virtue. That our devotion must be demonstrated through suffering. That only by making ourselves useful, productive, and perfect do we deserve love, success, or belonging. But what if The Gods are watching and shaking Their heads? What if we were never supposed to fight so hard for what is already ours? What if we have spent lifetimes proving ourselves to a mirror, waiting for a nod of approval that will never comeâbecause we were never meant to earn it in the first place? What if we put the gloves down? We are not the fight. We are not the struggle. We are the fire. And the fire does not ask for permission to burn. Saturn watches and waits. The Moon wavers, unsure. And Virgo, with all Her meticulous wisdom, begins to seeâthere is no fixing required. This eclipse is a threshold. A moment to step out of the cycle of proving. A chance to lay down the weight of needing  to be anything other than what we are. To trust that our existence is enough. What if we stopped boxing shadows? What if we let ourselves be lovedâwithout the conditions? What if, just for a moment, we let go? This Virgo Eclipse is a reckoning. A moment to realise that weâve been boxing shadows, fighting for things that were never meant to be earned. What if we stopped trying to fix ourselves and just let ourselves be? Where have you been restricting yourself? What are you ready to let go of? The Virgo Eclipse & Saturn in Pisces: A Reckoning for Every Rising Sign The Traditional House Meanings This isnât just any eclipse. With Saturn standing across from the Moon, we are caught between holding on and letting go , between discipline and surrender, structure and dissolution . Virgo wants to refine and fix. Pisces wants to dissolve and flow. And Saturn? He stands at the boundary, watching, asking us where weâve been trying to control what cannot be controlled. This is a moment of reckoningâwhere we see the illusions weâve been holding onto and realise: we were never in control to begin with. For each rising sign, hereâs where this tension plays out. Ask yourself: Where am I still trying to perfect something that is already whole? Where am I clinging to control when I should be letting go? What happens if I stop fighting and trust instead? â Aries Rising (6H Eclipse / 12H Saturn) â The Battle Between Doing and Being You have measured your worth in what you do . In how much you accomplish, how well you serve, how productive you are. But Saturn stands in your 12th house, the unseen realm, whispering that no matter how much you refine the external, it is the internal  that needs attention. What happens if you stop fixing and start feeling? Who are you when you are not working? Can you let yourself rest without guilt? This eclipse asks you to surrender the belief that productivity equals worth . What if you donât have to earn rest? â Taurus Rising (5H Eclipse / 11H Saturn) â The Fight to Be Recognised Youâve been striving to create something meaningful , to express yourself in a way that proves your worth. But Saturn in your house of community and belonging challenges you: Whose validation are you really seeking? Do you believe you are enough, even if no one claps? What if you stopped waiting to be âreadyâ and just shared whatâs in your heart? You donât have to perfect your creativity before you are allowed to shine. Let go of the idea that you must prove yourself before you can be seen . â Gemini Rising (4H Eclipse / 10H Saturn) â The Weight of Expectations Family expectations. Ancestral conditioning. The silent rules about who you must be . The work you have done to build a solid foundation  is real, but Saturn in your house of public life asks: Are you building a life that truly fits YOU? Do you actually want the success youâve been chasing? Who are you living forâyourself, or the people who raised you? You donât have to prove your worth through achievement . Your security does not have to come from control . What happens if you trust yourself to be  instead of constantly trying to become ? â Cancer Rising (3H Eclipse / 9H Saturn) â The Inner Criticâs Grip Your mind never stops. A thousand tiny anxieties, a million ways you could have done things better. But Saturn in your house of higher truth  challenges you: Are you drowning in the details and missing the bigger picture? Who taught you that you had to have certainty before you could move forward? What if you donât have to know the answer to take the next step? This eclipse asks you to trust your wisdom, not just your logic . Let go of overthinking. Clarity comes when you stop chasing it. â Leo Rising (2H Eclipse / 8H Saturn) â The Fight for Enough Scarcity. Control. Fear of not having enough, not being enough. Youâve worked hard to secure yourself , but Saturn in your house of deep transformation  asks: What if security is not about what you own, but what you believe? What if true abundance comes from letting go, not holding on? Are you clinging to control because you donât trust life to provide? This eclipse asks you to loosen your grip . Stop measuring your worth in material terms. You were always going to be taken care of. â Virgo Rising (1H Eclipse / 7H Saturn) â The Perfection Illusion You have spent your life refining yourself, striving to be better, trying to be worthy enough . But Saturn in your house of relationships  asks: Are you allowing yourself to be loved as you are? Or are you performing acceptability, afraid that your imperfections make you unworthy? Who told you love was something you had to earn? This eclipse says: Lay it down . You donât have to be perfect to be loved. You already are. â Libra Rising (12H Eclipse / 6H Saturn) â The War Between Control and Surrender Youâve been carrying battles no one can see âthe quiet suffering, the weight of responsibility. But Saturn in your 6th house asks: Where did you learn that struggle makes you worthy? What if healing isnât something you work for, but something you allow? What would happen if you stopped trying so hard? This eclipse asks you to release the belief that you must fight for peace . Peace comes when you stop battling yourself. â Scorpio Rising (11H Eclipse / 5H Saturn) â The Struggle for Belonging You have carefully chosen your communities, your circles, your people âbut Saturn in your house of self-expression asks: Are you shrinking yourself to fit in? Do you believe you have to be palatable to be accepted? What would happen if you stopped filtering yourself? This eclipse is your permission slip to be unapologetically you . The right people will stay. â Sagittarius Rising (10H Eclipse / 4H Saturn) â The Pressure to Achieve Youâve spent your life striving to be someone, to build something, to succeed . But Saturn in your house of foundations  asks: Is this the life you truly want, or just the one you thought you should build? Whose expectations are weighing on you? What if success wasnât about climbing higher, but feeling at home in yourself? Let go of the need to impress. Build a life that actually fits. â Capricorn Rising (9H Eclipse / 3H Saturn) â The Search for Certainty Youâve been seeking truth, wisdom, meaning âbut Saturn in your house of thought asks: Are you waiting to have the perfect plan before you take action? What if certainty is an illusion? What if the road is made by walking? Stop waiting for clarity before you begin. The path unfolds as you move. â Aquarius Rising (8H Eclipse / 2H Saturn) â The Illusion of Control Youâve been holding onâ to security, to power, to people . But Saturn asks: What are you really afraid of losing? Are you managing life instead of living it? What if freedom is in surrender? This eclipse is about trusting life, not controlling it . â Pisces Rising (7H Eclipse / 1H Saturn) â The Fear of Being Too Much You have curated yourself âmade yourself softer, easier, more acceptable. But Saturn asks: What are you diluting? Who are you making yourself smaller for? What if you stopped apologising for your depth? This eclipse is your moment to be seen, fully and completely . The Gods are watching. The Moon is feeling. Saturn is measuring. And yet, here we are. Still burning. Still enough. Even without the fight. đ Work With Me ⨠This eclipse is revealing the hidden stories  weâve been living byâthe ones that shape our choices, our relationships, our sense of worth. - Finding Peace In Imperfection
There's a beautiful little figure called the Orang Malu, or the "Weeping Buddha," from Indonesia. It's carved in a hunched posture, hands covering its face, quietly cryingâbut not only for itself. It's said to weep for the whole world's pain, gently reminding us that vulnerability isn't weakness; it's profound strength. Orang Malu - Weeping Buddha The recent lunar eclipse in Virgo brought forward this wisdom stronglyâreminding us to pause, look inward, and honour our hidden sorrows and grief. Especially those we may have buried deeply, because facing them felt too overwhelming or uncomfortable. I've been feeling this energy personally today, revisiting a loss that shaped me deeplyâsomething I once cherished in secret, something that ended painfully and was difficult to face. In that experience, I lost a part of myself, a part I didn't even realise existed until it was seen by another. It was beautiful, imperfect, messy, and human. And yes, it hurt. Deeply. But maybe the magic of truly letting go isn't about forgetting or even moving on perfectly. Maybe it's about accepting our humanness, our imperfection, our messiness. Life doesn't unfold neatly, and neither do our hearts. We're meant to feel it allâthe joy, the grief, the love, and the loss. This eclipse is whispering gently to us: What grief or loss have you tucked away, hoping you'd forget? What hidden part of yourself have you been afraid to reclaim because it felt messy or imperfect? Remember, our beauty isn't found in perfection; it's found in embracing all parts of our journeyâthe joy, the sorrow, and every messy bit in between. In your gentle willingness to accept these imperfections, you reclaim yourself. You rediscover that love hasn't ended, even when a relationship has. It lives on, quietly, in the ways we honour and cherish our experiences, no matter how they ended. So today, join me in embodying your inner Orang Malu. Hold your grief tenderly. Know it's safe to sit with your emotions, even if theyâre uncomfortable, messy, or painful. Because your strength lies not in perfect healing, but in your willingness to sit softly with yourself. Remember: âMy gentleness is my strength.â âIn softness, I reclaim myself.â âIt's safe to sit with my messy feelings.â Today, allow your humanness fully, beautifully, and imperfectly. In doing so, peace gently finds its way back home to you. Sending you love.
- Retrogrades, Routines & the Reality of Being Human
Note from me: Normally, I write these posts myself and get a bit of help from ChatGPT to polish the flow and tighten the structure. But this time, I didnât have it in me. Life is feeling overwhelming right now: time, energy, support is all in lack. So I splurged out my raw thoughts, and asked for help to shape something from it. I still feel this is me, just written with a little more clarity than I could manage today. This is whatâs been rising for me under these retrogrades. Maybe itâs rising for you too. When the Darkness Speaks "When we make a friend of what we previously could not face, what once haunted us now becomes an invisible, parallel ally, a beckoning to our future." âDavid Whyte Retrogrades tend to bring things back up. We know this. Old thoughts, old feelings, patterns we thought weâd worked through. But what Iâm noticing lately isnât just something returning, itâs the weight  of it. The kind of weight that doesn't announce itself loudly but builds over time, like stones in your pockets. For me, whatâs surfacing right now is the ache of doing it all alone. Even when we have partners, or help on paper, weâre often still the ones holding everything. The emotional load. The practical details. The things no one else notices until they fall apart. And when youâre good at it, when youâre competent, resilient, the one who keeps going, people assume youâre okay. You get so good at making it look easy that no one thinks to ask if itâs heavy. But it is. Itâs bloody heavy. And I am tired. These retrogrades are moving through my 6th house, the house of daily work, health, routines, service. The not-glamorous bits of life. The relentless bits. And it makes sense that whatâs surfacing now isnât some grand existential crisis, but the quiet, grinding realisation that I feel completely unsupported in my day-to-day life. Iâm not trying to fix it right now. I donât have a plan, a breakthrough, a phoenix-rising moment. Iâm just noticing it. Letting it come up. Sitting in the dark with it, without trying to turn the light on straight away. Because hereâs the thing I once scribbled in an old notebook something that came back to me this week like a thread being picked up again: We can't stay in that place of peace and joy in our everyday, in that higher perspective, and see what's in the shadows. This is why taking a light into the dark doesn't work. It obliterates the dark so we can't see what's there. You have to be in the dark to see the dark. Literally, energetically, emotionally. We will feel sad, angry, lost, fearful, and that will show us why. Then we can look at it with light, and it will be realised and healed. So thatâs what Iâm doing now. Sitting in the dark. Letting myself feel sad and heavy and resentful and tired. Not because I want to wallow in it, but because those feelings are the clues . They show me where Iâve been silent. Where Iâve been unseen. Where Iâve been pretending Iâm okay when Iâm not. And now, with these retrogrades and in this season weâre crossing the Aries Equinox point - point zero - the balance point between light and dark. The Sun rises in strength, and fire returns to the sky. But we donât leave the dark behind; we carry its teachings with us. We act from  what weâve learned. So I ask you: What truth is surfacing in your life right now, even if you donât like it? Whatâs feeling too heavy, too much, too overlooked? Maybe you donât need to fix it yet. Maybe itâs enough to name it. Because only whatâs named  can be healed. I wanted to finish this post with more o n this. But once again, I've run out of time. The day job is screaming. My daughter needs support. The bins need to go out. The recycling needs sorting. There's washing up to do. And maybe thatâs the truest thing I can say. Iâm tired. Iâm stretched. Iâm no more limited than Iâve ever been, no more burdened. But I can't find a way around it today. I'm in it. The wisdom and clarity that will come. The neat message that ties the post in a bow an leaved me feeling satisfied and content. Will have to wait...
- 4th April, A Conversation Worth Noting: Mars, Saturn and Uranus
A soft turning point in the sky Today we have a gentle triangle of support in the sky - what astrologers call a Minor Grand Trine - a nice conversation where three planets form a beneficial triangle, made up of one trine (an expansive 120° connection) and two sextiles (friendly and loving 60° links). These are the kindest kinds of conversations the Gods can have - cooperative, creative, quietly powerful. At the heart of it all, we have Mars in Cancer  and Saturn in Pisces  forming their final trine for a while, and last while Saturn is in Pisces, a gentle closing of a story that began back in September 24. Theyâre joined now by Uranus in Taurus , who acts like a spark of electricity, bringing fresh insight, a new way forward, a door gently swinging open. This isnât a loud or dramatic moment, but itâs important. Itâs the kind of sky that helps us do the thing  weâve been thinking about or working toward. Where once it felt like a dream, now it simply feels possible . Like youâve grown into it. Final Lessons from the Deep: Mars, Saturn & a Gift from Uranus  Today the sky offers a rare blend of grace and grit. This triangle in the sky suggests weâre being offered an opportunity to integrate what weâve learned. Both Mars and Saturn have been travelling through water signs (Cancer and Pisces), asking us to take action not from impulse, but from a place of feeling . From intuition. From the heart. Itâs the final moment in a story that began last September when Mars and Saturn first formed a trine, a moment full of hope, purpose, and vision. Then Mars turned retrograde, and what felt promising may have stalled or even disappeared. But now, the way forward is opening again. This is astrologyâs version of focused magic . As if the stars are saying: âNow that youâve done the inner work, youâre ready for the outer steps.â Mars and Saturn together in a positive conversation speak of disciplined action - deliberate, determined energy. The capacity to stay the course, to keep showing up, to complete what we began even when the road gets hard. These two arenât here for quick wins, theyâre here for real progress , the kind you earn. And then Uranus steps in like a breath of fresh air. The God of liberation, invention, and insight offers freedom from old resentments , new ways of seeing old problems, and a gift for facing challenges head-on  until solutions rise from within. This trio together evokes what Renn Butler beautifully described as: "A capacity to actively hold tension within oneâs being until a resolution presents itself." That might be exactly whatâs happening now. Whatâs been stuck, heavy, or unclear may begin to shift, not with chaos, but with a kind of solid, grounded spark. You may realise, too, that the future isnât fixed. That you are not trapped by old choices or timelines. The astrology now supports the interplay of freedom and probability , your effort, your vision, your persistence do  matter. But thereâs a little magic riding with you too. And now, with the help of Uranus in Taurus, we might just find a way to do things differently . To build  something new from what weâve learned. Even if it's small. Even if itâs just a change in mindset. ⨠What if discipline could be gentle? ⨠What if strength came from softness? ⨠What if the way forward is not through pushing, but through trusting? Todayâs sky says: the tools youâve built over these past few months - your patience, your resilience, your emotional clarity - can now be used. Creatively. Practically. Wisely. Take a breath. Take a step. And if inspiration strikes, follow it, itâs probably Uranus whispering âgo on, give it a tryâŚâ If life has felt like hard emotional work since December, especially around boundaries, effort, or purpose, you might just notice something shifting now. For me, this is happening across my 6th, 8th and 10th houses. Just last night, I did a reading at Essential Therapies and it felt normal. Like itâs just  what I do. Not in a boring way, in a grounded, embodied way. I felt comfortable asking for payment, confident in what I offered, and grateful that something I only dreamed of  a few months ago is now part of my everyday life. This is what todayâs sky feels like. Like youâre settling into the shape of the life youâve been building, without even noticing how much has changed. Now itâs your turn to take note and feel into what may be shifting for you. Hereâs where this gentle but powerful energy is showing up according to your rising sign: ⨠Aries Rising  â 12th (Saturn), 4th (Mars), 2nd (Uranus) Youâre learning to trust the quieter parts of yourselfâyour inner world, your past, your worth. What needs to be released so you can feel safe and supported from within? ⨠Taurus Rising  â 11th (Saturn), 3rd (Mars), 1st (Uranus) Something is shifting in how you connect and communicate. Your energy is returning, and youâre ready to step out more fully into the world. What belief is shaping your next chapter? ⨠Leo Rising  â 8th (Saturn), 12th (Mars), 10th (Uranus) Youâve been doing deep emotional workâmaybe privately, maybe painfully. What have you outgrown? And what are you finally ready to do? ⨠Scorpio Rising  â 5th (Saturn), 9th (Mars), 7th (Uranus) Love, learning, and relationship breakthroughs. This is about courageously creating something newâand letting others truly see you. Where are you being called to grow? ⨠Sagittarius Rising  â 4th (Saturn), 8th (Mars), 6th (Uranus) The deeper roots are shifting. Youâre healing the past, transforming emotion into fuel, and reworking how you care for your body and your life. What are you building now? ⨠Capricorn Rising  â 3rd (Saturn), 7th (Mars), 5th (Uranus) A season of real conversations and brave vulnerability. Youâre learning new ways to relate, express, and love. Youâre anchoring into routines that support your value and nurture your home life. How are your priorities changing? ⨠Pisces Rising  â 1st (Saturn), 5th (Mars), 3rd (Uranus) This is personal. Youâre growing into yourself, finding your voice, and learning how to love and lead from the heart. Whatâs calling to be expressed? Wherever this lands for you, todayâs energy reminds us: We donât always need a big moment. Sometimes growth looks like comfort. Like ease. Like finally being able to do  the thing that once felt out of reach. Whatâs quietly settling into place in your life right now? What used to feel like a dream, but now just feels natural ? - Eclipse Season and the Call to Become
An End and a Beginning On the day before the final solar eclipse in Aries (29 March 2025), my daughter turned 18. My youngest. The last one to cross the bridge from child to adult. And with that, something deep within me is shifting. This eclipse lights up Aries, the sign of independence, courage, and new beginnings. And in my chart, Aries is the realm of relationships. A house once ruled by a man I left so I could find myself again. Because Iâd disappeared. I had to walk away from the love I once thought was everything, in order to remember who I was. Since then, itâs been mostly just me and my children. Blended family life proved hard. And so I made a choice, not just once, but again and again, to put them first. To raise them with love. To give them the kind of parenting I knew they deserved. Disneyland Paris 2011 And now here we are. They are growing into strong, capable humans. And, because they are so wonderful, Iâm learning to be proud of the mother Iâve been. Of the home Iâve built. Of the way Iâve carried us through. And here's what I'm contemplating with my daughters milestone birthday. Iâm starting to glimpse a future now where they are off pursuing their own dreams and I am no longer as obligated. As responsible. In just a few months I may be free of the every day parenting that has been so encompassing over the last 21 years. At Hamilton 2017ish This eclipse closes a chapter that began when my daughter was born in 2007. There was a Libra eclipse at the time, lighting up my first house. Then The Gods were whispering: this child would change the way I relate. And she did. Another chapter unfolded in 2014, when eclipses returned to Aries. That was the year my then-partner moved in. It was hopeful, at first. But life doesnât always follow the dream. My daughter wasn't comfortable in that dynamic. So he and I chose to end it. Ultimately, I chose her and put her needs first. A decision which felt as right then, as it does now. Now, with this final eclipse in Aries, and her stepping into adulthood, I feel the cycle completing. The threshold is real. And this time, itâs mine to cross. Iâve spent the last fifteen years holding a steady, secure haven for my children. A home where they could feel safe. Where they could grow into themselves without having to bend around someone elseâs opinions. No outsider shaping their sense of worth. Just space, love, and presence. But now. Well, now I can glimpse a time when I get to choose me. Aries asks us to be brave. And with Mars, ruler of Aries, still moving through Cancer, the sign of home, family, and motherhood, the message is clear: my time is coming. I did what I needed to do. I held the fort. And now, maybe itâs safe to let someone else in. The question Iâve been circling for a while is this: was it sacrifice, or was it sovereignty? Did I give something up, or did I claim something priceless? My Moon sits in Taurus, in the 8th house. Itâs a placement that speaks of emotional depth, of transformation through intimacy, and of a kind of quiet power. It feels like Sheâs whispering to me now: you didnât just mother your children, you mothered yourself back into being . And now, I want love again. The kind of love Iâve always dreamed of. The kind I know is possible. Not to fill a gap. Not to fix anything. But to meet me here, where I am: whole, wise, and ready. This eclipse is the end of a cycle. But itâs also the spark of a new flame. One lit not in response to the circumstances I landed in, but in choosing where I want to take my journey next. But this eclipse isnât just about me. Itâs about all of us . Because this is the final Solar Eclipse in Aries with the North Node here for a while (around 18 years), a cycle thatâs been pulling us all toward courage, independence, and the raw truth of who we are since mid-2023. And every eclipse along the Aries-Libra axis has been asking: What do you need in relationship? And whatâs been holding you back from claiming it? Libra is about the other , how we connect, compromise, collaborate. Aries is about the self , our desire, our drive, our need to be fully alive. Together, they form the tension between me  and we . This axis teaches us that we cannot truly show up in relationship until we know who we are. And now weâre at the end of that lesson. A threshold. A turning point. A moment of becoming . And itâs not happening in isolation. Venus, Goddess of Love, is retrograde in Aries, about to slip back into Pisces. Sheâs asking us to reflect: ⨠What do I truly want in love? ⨠Where have I acted out of fear, or rushed ahead without listening to my heart? ⨠Can I be honest about my needs, and tender with myself where I havenât met them? Mercury is retrograde, too, also weaving between Aries and Pisces, reminding us to rethink how we speak, listen, and lead. Itâs not a time to charge ahead blindly. Itâs a time to remember . To revisit the choices that have shaped our path. And to ask: What do I really believe in? What story do I want to live now? And then, like a quiet wave washing over it all, Neptune enters Aries. A new era begins. One where dreams meet action. Where the spiritual and the practical are no longer separate. Where weâre invited to live  what we believe. This moment is a pause. A breath. A reckoning. Not just for me as a mother stepping into a new chapter, but for all of us. Take a moment to ask yourself: Who have I become? Where have I given myself away? Where have I reclaimed myself? What do I want now , in love, in connection, in the way I show up in the world? This eclipse may not change everything overnight. But itâs a spark. A shift. A quiet voice saying: Itâs time. Time to act. Time to speak. Time to move differently. Time to honour the fire within. A Ritual: Find a quiet moment. Perhaps light a candle. Take out a piece of paper and write a letter to yourself, titled: "This is who I am now." Let the words come from your body, not just your mind. Speak from your belly, your chest, your hands. Let yourself name what youâve walked through. What youâve outgrown. What youâre ready to claim. When youâre done, fold it up and keep it somewhere safe. Or burn it, if that feels truer, release it to the flame and let the fire be your witness. This is a threshold. A becoming. Let yourself cross it with love. And perhaps these words from AnaĂŻs Nin will light the way: âAnd the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.â
- Venus: God of Love
' Venus is the principle of pleasure and desire , reflecting our aesthetic values and tastes. It is our impulse to relate to others, indicating how we show love and affection and how we create common bonds.â Carole Taylor - Astrology Venus is the Great Goddess : for the Sumerians she was Inanna , in Babylon Ishtar and in Greece Aphrodite . She is The Goddess of Beauty, Sexual love and Fertility . 'Venus is the principle of desire , love , beauty , value ; the impulse and capacity to attract and be attracted, to love and be loved , to seek and create beauty and harmony , to engage in social and romantic relations, sensuous pleasure , artistic and aesthetic experience; the principle of Eros and the Beautiful; Aphrodite, the Goddess of love and beauty.' Richard Tarnas - Cosmos and Psyche âTraditionally Venus was associated with the moist and warming power that is productive of the life force , and signifies, desire, love, beauty, cleanliness, purity, and religious worship.â Demetra George - Ancient Astrology âVenus Principles: Impulses toward love and friendship, harmony and pleasure, grace and beauty, forces of attraction. The Venus archetype manifests through our yearnings to love and be loved, to enjoy ourselves and bring pleasure to others and to reach out in friendship and connection. Venus rules the power of attraction, our aesthetic taste and sensuality and our capacities to act in graceful and harmonious ways with the world around us. Venus also represents our feelings of intimacy toward the divine principle as the Beloved, and the potential for ecstatic union with it as we regain our lost wholeness.â Renn Butler - The Archetypal Universe Venus: The Goddess of Love, Beauty, and What We Truly Value Venus . Goddess of love, beauty, and everything deliciously self-indulgent. The soft glow of candlelight, the rhythm of your favourite song, the way your heart swells when someone really sees you (and hopefully tells you you look beautiful). Sheâs the sweet stuff of life, the part of us that yearns to feel, to touch, to experience joy in all its forms. But Sheâs also that voice in your head that goes, Do you even like this, or are you just pretending to impress people?  Sheâs got questions, and she wants answers. Venus is speaking to you all the time, though you may not always hear her. She whispers when you crave affection, when you admire someoneâs effortlessly chic outfit, when you make a playlist full of songs that make you feel like the main character. Sheâs present in every choice you make around love, self-worth, and pleasure. And depending on where Sheâs hanging out in your birth chart, Sheâs got her own unique way of making herself known. Embodying Your Venus To truly embody Venus is to own what brings you pleasure, beauty, and connection in a way that feels right for you (not your mate, not your Mum, not that influencer with the suspiciously perfect life). Itâs about understanding what makes you feel loved and what you naturally gravitate towards. But itâs also about clocking your patterns - how you love, where you might be short-changing yourself, and what really makes your heart sing (hint: itâs probably not whatever everyone else is telling you to want). For example, if your Venus is in Aries, sheâs loud, passionate, and honestly, a bit impatient. Love is a spark - instant, intense, and possibly a little chaotic. You thrive on excitement, but pacing yourself might be a lifelong lesson. If sheâs in Taurus, Venus is a slow, luxurious bath with candles and expensive chocolate. She likes her comforts and knows exactly what she values - so good luck convincing her otherwise. Now, me? Iâve got Venus in Aquarius in the 5th house, sitting next to Jupiter like theyâre best mates on a wild adventure, and squaring my Moon in Venus-ruled Taurus in the 8th. Translation: Love, creativity, and pleasure are a big deal  for me. Huge. Monumental. My home? An explosion of quirky dĂŠcor that makes estate agents nervous. My relationships? Deep, intense, and sometimes bizarrely fated (hello, Twin Flame journey). Venus was stationing retrograde when I was born, so trust me, Iâve had to untangle my fair share of âwhat do I actually want?â moments. Itâs been a journey, but thatâs exactly what Venus invites us all to do - unravel what truly makes us feel good and claim it, unapologetically. Read more about my journey here. Venus in Conversation Venus doesnât exist in a vacuum - sheâs always talking with the other Gods in your chart. If Sheâs sitting next to Saturn, the God of rules and restrictions, love might feel a bit like an endurance test, or you might struggle with feeling âenough.â If Sheâs hanging out with Neptune, the God of dreams and delusions, you might have a knack for seeing only the best in people (even when theyâre clearly waving red flags). These planetary conversations shape how you experience love, pleasure, and self-worth. Venus as a Soothing Balm in Difficult Times Life isnât always soft lighting and romantic playlists - sometimes itâs a full-on storm, courtesy of Saturnâs life lessons or Mars stirring up conflict. When youâre facing challenges, Venus can be your anchor, reminding you of what brings joy, pleasure, and balance. Where Venus sits in your birth chart tells you what soothes your soul, where you can find comfort, and what helps you feel good even when everything else is heavy. And where sheâs moving in the skies right now? Thatâs your cosmic permission slip to indulge in what feels good, to counterbalance the tough stuff with beauty and connection. Whether thatâs spending time with loved ones, creating art, or simply dressing up for yourself on a rough day, Venus reminds you that even in hardship, thereâs always room for pleasure and self-care . Inviting Venus In So how do you work with Venus? You start by listening. What actually makes you happy (not just what looks good on paper)? What fills you up, makes you feel attractive, makes life feel richer? And where do you keep running into the same issues over and over? If youâve been struggling with self-worth, ask yourself: Am I honouring what truly brings me joy, or am I just trying to be someone elseâs idea of valuable?  If relationships have been a mess, consider: Am I showing up in a way that actually suits my Venus, or am I bending myself into a pretzel to fit a mould that doesnât feel right?  Venus doesnât care about what you âshouldâ want - Sheâs all about what you  want . Your Relationship with Venus We all have a relationship with Venus, whether we realise it or not. Sheâs in the way we decorate our homes, the way we treat ourselves, the way we flirt (or donât). The more you acknowledge Her, the more Sheâll show up for you. So start small. Wear something that makes you feel fabulous. Eat the good chocolate. Dance in your kitchen. Express love in a way that feels like you . The more you work with Venus, the more you align with what actually lights you up, and when youâre living from that space, life itself gets a whole lot sweeter. Discovering Your Venus with a Personal Reading If youâre curious about how Venus is showing up for you, letâs talk. - Mars: God of Action
Ares (Mars), God of War Mars' orbital period is approximately two years, meaning Mars usually spends two month's in each sign. Greek Ares was the God of Warfare, Bloodlust, and Slaughter. His Roman counterpart Mars however was honoured for his Warrior spirit, Courage, and Military Skill. 'Mars is the energy that spurs us into action and allows us to further our ambitions.' Carole Taylor 'The Mars archetype is behind our biological urges to take action and assert ourselves , to go out and participate in life , gratify our material and sexual needs and protect ourselves during times of threat. It underlies our drives to pursue the things we want , and to actively avoid the things and experiences we don't want. The negative qualities related to Mars, such as aggression, competition and rash actions, present many problems in the spiritual quest, tying up our attention in cycles of hurt and revenge, and delaying the healing process.' Renn Butler 'Mars is the principle of energetic force ; the impulse and capacity to assert, to act and move energetically and forcefully, to have an impact, to press forward and against, to defend and offend , to act with sharpness and ardour; the tendency to experience aggressiveness, anger, conflict, harm, violence, forceful physical energy; to be combative, competitive, courageous, vigorous ; Ares, the God of war.' Richard Tarnas Mars key words: Energetic force Assertiveness Action and movement Vigorous pursuit Competitive spirit Embodying Mars: The Fire That Moves You Mars is the fire in your belly; the voice inside that shouts, "Go on then, do it!" when you hesitate at the edge of something new. Heâs the force that drives you to stand up for yourself, chase after what you want, and, at times, throw a perfectly good plate against the wall in frustration. Mars is movement, passion, courage, and that inner grit that keeps you pushing forward. Who Is Mars? The Warrior, The Protector, The Instigator In Greek mythology, Ares was the God of bloodlust and chaos; war for the sake of war. The Romans, however, saw his counterpart Mars differently. He was a warrior, yes, but one of strategy, discipline, and honour. Thereâs a lesson in that. Mars energy is raw and untamed, but how we wield it makes all the difference. Without Mars, we'd never take a risk, never defend our boundaries, never feel that electric spark of desire that compels us towards something, or someone. But left unchecked, he can turn us into a bull in a china shop, charging into battles that donât need fighting, all because our pride got the better of us. How Mars Shows Up In You Mars lives somewhere in your birth chart, whispering (or shouting) in your ear about how you assert yourself, what fires you up, and how you handle conflict. If he were at a party, heâd be the one who decides on a whim that everyone should play a game of high-stakes poker or go streaking through the streets, because why not? He thrives on action. Where Mars sits in your chart (his zodiac sign and house placement) shapes how you go after what you want. Some people are slow burners, methodical and patient (Mars in Taurus, anyone?), while others are all passion and impulse, jumping in first and asking questions later (looking at you, Aries Mars). Some fight with words, others with sheer persistence. But one thing is certain, when Mars speaks, you feel it in your bones. My Mars, My Battle I have Mars in Taurus in the 8th house. To put it simply, thatâs a bit like trying to drive a sports car through quicksand. Mars isn't comfortable in Venus' sign. Mars wants to charge ahead, but in Taurus, Heâs forced to plod. Slow, steady, relentless. He digs his heels in. Change? No thanks. Action? Maybe later. Assertiveness? Letâs just sit with it for a decade first. And in the 8th house? Thatâs the house of where we overlap with others and it's hidden from view, the shadows we donât want to look at and secrets live there. Itâs no surprise that my Mars story is wrapped up in power, control, and deep-rooted wounds around the masculine. My Dad was emotionally unavailable (through no fault of his own) and pretty distant (physically and in terms of fatherly support) when I was a kid. To say I have (maybe had is more accurate now) daddy issues is a bit of an understatement. In searching for the strong, assertive masculine I never had, I spent many years walking straight into the arms of men who controlled, bullied, and, at worst, broke me down entirely. The truth? When we donât know how to embody our own Mars energy, we look for it outside of ourselves. And when we do that, we give our power away. The Conversations Mars Has Mars doesnât exist in a vacuum; heâs constantly in conversation with the other Gods in your chart. Mars & Venus  â The dance of attraction. Passion, love, and sometimes, frustration. The push-pull of desire and harmony. Think of the couple who bicker constantly but canât keep their hands off each other. Mars & Saturn  â The battle between impulse and discipline. Saturn tells Mars to slow down and play the long game, while Mars is already halfway out the door, sword drawn. Itâs the classic tale of the wild youth and the wise elder. Mars & Pluto  â Power struggles, deep transformation, and learning to wield your strength wisely. This is the phoenix rising from the ashes. Mars & Mercury  â The sharp tongue. Quick wit, fiery debates, and words as weapons. Ever had an argument where you walked away thinking, âDamn, I should have said thatâ? Thatâs Mars and Mercury sparring. Healing Mars: Finding Balance in the Masculine For those of us with a difficult Mars placement, the question becomes: How do we heal our wounded masculine?  Because make no mistake, Mars isnât just about war and fire, he is the protector, the initiator, the one who stands up and says, No more.  When we make peace with Mars, we learn how to fight for ourselves in a way that is aligned with who we truly are. For me, it has been a slow journey of learning that strength doesnât have to be loud, that I donât need to bulldoze my way through life to be powerful. That boundaries are not the same as walls. That assertiveness is not aggression. That I can own my Mars energy without fear of becoming what once hurt me. And for you? The key is in your chart. If Mars feels out of reach, ask yourself where you have given away your power. If Mars feels too loud, ask yourself where you are fighting battles that donât need fighting. If Mars feels like a wrecking ball, ask yourself what is truly worth destroying. Harnessing Your Mars So, how do you embody Mars in a way that serves you rather than derails you? Trust your instincts  â Mars is your gut feeling; the pull towards action. Trust it, but donât let it run the show. Know your triggers  â What sets you off? Where do you get competitive, defensive, or impatient? Awareness is power. Move your body  â Mars needs a physical outlet. If you donât give him one, heâll find one, and it might not be pretty. Be brave in your own way  â Courage isnât just about running into battle; itâs speaking your truth, taking a leap of faith, and showing up for yourself every single day. Final Thoughts Mars reminds us that life is meant to be lived with passion. He asks: What sets you on fire? Whatâs worth fighting for?  Understanding your own Mars helps you step into your power, assert yourself with confidence, and chase after what truly matters. So, where is Mars in your chart, and what is he urging you to do? The battlefield is yours. Bringing It Back to You Understanding Mars isnât just about knowing where he sits in your chart; itâs about recognising how he speaks to you. When I work with clients, I guide them through these conversations with the Gods, helping them hear Marsâ voice in their own life. Is he whispering encouragement? Shouting for attention? Locked in a standoff with another part of you that resists action? If youâve ever wondered why you hesitate when you know  you should act, why you get fired up in some situations and not others, or why certain conflicts seem to follow you around, Mars has something to say about it. Together, we uncover his message and, more importantly, what you can do with it. Mars in Taurus in my own chart has taught me the slow burn of patience, the power of endurance, and the hard-won lesson that my strength doesnât have to look like someone elseâs. It took me years to realise that I donât need to find my power in someone else; itâs always been mine to claim. If youâre feeling lost in your own battles, whether theyâre external fights or internal struggles, I can help you navigate them. In our session, weâll look at where Mars is in your  chart and how heâs influencing your drive, your desires, and your ability to stand in your own power. How does he interact with the other Gods? Is he pushing you forward or holding you back? Once you see him clearly, youâll start to understand how to work with  his energy, rather than against it. Because when you embody your Mars, life stops feeling like a battlefield and starts feeling like an adventure. Book a reading with me online here. Where Is Your Mars? Understanding Your Drive & Power Mars has a message for you. Heâs the fire in your belly, your gut instinct, your fight, your passion. But how he expresses himself depends entirely on where heâs sitting in your birth chart, both by sign and house. Some people charge ahead, sword in hand; others take a slow, steady route, gathering strength before they act. Knowing where Mars is in your  chart gives you the key to understanding how you assert yourself, where your energy flows, and how you can harness his power to truly step into your own. Mars Through the Signs How You Take Action & Assert Yourself đĽ Mars in Fire Signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius)  â The Trailblazers Mars is right at home in fire signs - bold, passionate, and ready to jump into action. You donât overthink; you do . Your energy is fast, fierce, and sometimes a little reckless. When something excites you, you go all in. When you want something, you chase it. If youâre frustrated? Everyone knows  about it. đĄ How to harness it:  Balance impulse with follow-through. Learn when to pause and consider your next move, rather than burning out in a flash. Use your natural courage to inspire others. đ Mars in Earth Signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn)  â The Builders Slow and steady wins the race. You donât rush into things - you strategize. Mars in an earth sign is like a marathon runner, not a sprinter. Once you set your sights on something, you will  achieve it, even if it takes years. You have immense endurance and work ethic, but frustration builds when things donât move fast enough. đĄ How to harness it:  Trust your steady approach. Others may move faster, but your success is long-lasting. Just be mindful not to get stuck in overthinking or stubborn resistance to change. đ¨ Mars in Air Signs (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius)  â The Thinkers Mars in air signs fights with words, ideas, and intellect. Your energy is quick, adaptable, and often restless. Action happens through communication, persuasion, or big-picture thinking. Conflict might come from overanalysing rather than trusting instinct, but youâre brilliant in a debate. đĄ How to harness it:  Donât just talk about what you want  to do - do  it. Find a balance between mental stimulation and physical action. Learn when to switch from debating mode to decisive action. đ Mars in Water Signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces)  â The Feelers Mars in water signs fights for what they feel  is right. Your drive is deeply emotional, tied to intuition, protection, and passion that simmers under the surface. You might not be outwardly aggressive, but when something (or someone) threatens what you love, you become unstoppable. đĄ How to harness it:  Donât suppress your emotions - channel them into creative or meaningful action. Let yourself feel , but donât let your emotions dictate every decision. Trust your instincts. Mars Through the Houses Traditional House Delineations Where You Direct Your Energy & Face Challenges đ 1st House (Self-Image, Identity)  â Mars here makes you bold, driven, and always ready for action. Youâre a natural leader, but impatience can be an issue. Your challenge is learning when to push forward and when to pause. đĄ Work with it:  Own your confidence, but donât bulldoze others. Channel energy into physical movement - exercise, sports, or anything that gets you moving. đ 2nd House (Money, Self-Worth)  â Mars here makes you fiercely protective of your resources. You work hard to build financial security, but you might struggle with impulsive spending or stubbornness. đĄ Work with it:  Trust in your ability to create stability, but stay open to new ways of earning. Avoid clinging too tightly to comfort zones. đ 3rd House (Communication, Learning)  â Your words are your weapon. Youâre quick-witted, sharp, and never afraid to speak your mind. But sometimes, you react before thinking. đĄ Work with it:  Take time before responding in heated conversations. Use your passion for learning, writing, or debating. đ 4th House (Home, Family, Roots)  â Your home life may have been a battleground, or you might feel protective over your space and loved ones. Youâre driven by emotional security. đĄ Work with it:  Create a home environment that feels safe and empowering. You thrive in passionate relationships but may struggle with compromise. đĄ Work with it:  Learn to balance assertiveness with harmony. Recognise when you're projecting your own drive onto others. đ 8th House (Sex, Transformation, Power)  â Mars here means intensity. Learn to trust others without feeling the need to control. đ 9th House (Adventure, Beliefs, Expansion)  â You thrive on adventure, new ideas, and pushing boundaries. Routine bores youâyou need movement, learning, and experience. đĄ Work with it:  Find healthy ways to exploreâtravel, philosophy, or expanding your worldview. Learn patience when things donât move as fast as youâd like. đ 10th House (Career, Public Image)  â Youâre ambitious, driven, and focused on success. You donât just want  to achieve - you must . But work-life balance is a challenge. đĄ Work with it:  Channel your drive into meaningful goals, but donât let work consume you. Define success on your  terms. đ 11th House (Community, Future, Dreams)  â Your energy is focused on big ideas, social causes, and friendships. Youâre a leader in your community, but conflicts may arise in groups. đĄ Work with it:  Lead with passion, but listen to others. Collaborate rather than compete. Focus your energy on long-term visions. đ 12th House (Spirituality, Subconscious, Healing)  â Mars here is hidden. Your drive is more internal than external, and you may struggle with asserting yourself. But you have immense power when you learn to trust your intuition. đĄ Work with it:  Explore spiritual or creative outlets for your energy. Learn to express anger rather than suppressing it. Your strength lies in your deep inner world. Final Thoughts Mars isnât just about action - itâs about how  you take action, where  you direct your energy, and what  fuels your fire. Understanding your Mars placement gives you a roadmap to working with  your drive, rather than fighting against it. So - where is your Mars, and what is he asking of you? Letâs talk. Iâll walk you through how heâs speaking to you , and together, weâll uncover how you can step into your own power. Because when you work with Mars, you donât just survive - you thrive . đ To learn more about The Gods at work, take a browse of my Conversations Blog To get to know me better read more here. - The Dragon's Wisdom: 7 Lessons for Living Authentically and Embracing Miracles in Aquarius Season
Have you ever felt like life was nudging you towards something greater? Like thereâs magic hiding in the ordinary, waiting for you to notice it? Recently, I found myself reflecting on lessons Iâve learned over seven transformative years, and itâs as if a dragon whispered them to me. Let me share what it taught me. 1. Perspective Shapes Reality The dragonâs first reminder: we can choose to live in an expanded reality where miracles occur daily. Itâs all about perspective. Imagine standing under a vast sky. You might see herons soaring gracefully, or, if you shift your perception, dragons dancing in the clouds. This metaphor reminds us that the world can be mundane or miraculous, depending on the lens we use. Choosing to see magic invites it into our lives. Living in this expanded reality means believing in possibilities beyond what we can see and daring to embrace the extraordinary. 2. Messages Are Everywhere If You Look Years ago, during a time of intense spiritual growth, a heron appeared in my life. Day after day, it felt as though this majestic bird was guiding me. Every encounter became a silent conversation with the divine, filled with wisdom. I could have dismissed these moments as coincidence. But I chose to see meaning in them - proof that the universe was speaking to me. That shift transformed these encounters into profound lessons about trust, patience, and the magic of being present. What if every experience you have is trying to tell you something? Are you listening? 3. The Universe Has Your Back Hereâs the dragonâs third lesson: you are supported. Always. Even when life feels chaotic or unkind, the Universe is gently nudging you towards growth. Challenges arenât punishments; theyâre opportunities to stretch into the fullness of who you are. When we trust in this benevolence, we stop fighting against the tide and start flowing with it. Gratitude and humility grow naturally, as does the ability to see blessings even in difficult moments. The Universe isnât working against you; itâs your ally, guiding you home to yourself. 4. Faith Makes Life Meaningful Living a faithful life doesnât mean blindly following rules or expecting perfection. Itâs about having faith in yourself and the greater cosmic narrative unfolding around you. Itâs about embracing who you are - quirks, flaws, and all. Faith is courageous. Itâs trusting that even when the path is unclear, youâre walking it for a reason. Itâs knowing that every moment holds purpose and that youâre part of something bigger than yourself. Faith transforms the mundane into magic. 5. Embrace Your Weird Seven years ago, I wouldnât have read this post, let alone have written it. I would have dismissed it as nonsense. My curiosity about the mysterious and magical was something I kept securely hidden away, afraid of being seen as weird or different. But suppressing who we are only breeds shame . Over time, I realised that the parts of myself Iâd hidden were the key to my freedom. Owning my interests, including astrology and the spiritual journey that brought me here, has been the most liberating choice Iâve ever made. What parts of yourself are you hiding? What might happen if you embraced them instead? 6. Truth Is Power The dragonâs sixth lesson is a tough but essential one: secrets keep us small. They breed shame and fear. But when we own our truth, we unlock our power. Carl Jung said it best: âUntil you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.â The journey of self-discovery requires us to face the parts of ourselves weâve buried. By doing so, we gain clarity, courage, and the ability to live fully. What truths are you ready to uncover? 7. Be Courageously You The final lesson is this: being authentically, unapologetically you is the only sensible choice. True, itâs not always easy. Sharing the vulnerable, messy, magical parts of yourself takes bravery. But itâs also the most rewarding thing you can do. When we stop hiding and start living in alignment with our truth, we invite connection, joy, and purpose into our lives. The journey isnât about becoming someone new; itâs about uncovering who youâve always been . These seven lessons are gifts the dragon shared with me, but theyâre not just mine. Theyâre yours too, if you choose to embrace them. Miracles are everywhere. Truth is power . And you? You are amazing, just as you are. How does this fit with Aquarius Season? A note on AI & my writing: I use ChatGPT as a writing assistantânot as a writer. These are my thoughts, ideas, and words, shaped by my lived experience and deep love for self-work, self-awareness, the spiritual journey, and astrology. AI helps me refine, structure, and occasionally nudge me toward better phrasing, but the voice youâre reading is mine. I use it as a tool to help me put into words everything I believe is valuable in sharing my insights. Honesty matters to me, and this is simply one way I bring my thoughts to life.
