- Astrology: Your Map Back to Yourself
White Butterfly: Symbolises Purity & Rebirth I know what it’s like to feel stuck. To wake up one day and wonder, how did I get here? When did life become a never-ending to-do list of work, family, and obligations with no space for me? When did I start feeling so… disconnected? Unseen? Like there must be more, but I have no idea where to start looking for it? That was me before I found astrology. Not the sun sign horoscopes in the back of a magazine kind of astrology (fun, but not exactly life-changing). I mean the real, deep-dive kind of astrology that hands you a map of yourself; your desires, your struggles, your patterns, and most importantly, the way through them. And that’s what I offer you. Not just an astrology reading, but a way back to yourself. Why Astrology? Why Now? Life doesn’t come with a manual. But your birth chart? That’s about as close as it gets. It’s a conversation with The Gods, a cosmic imprint of who you are, why you’re here, and how you can navigate the twists and turns of your journey. It doesn’t predict your future; it empowers you to create it in alignment with your strengths and your passions. When you invest in an astrology reading, you’re investing in clarity. In seeing the patterns that have been running your life, in understanding why you keep ending up in the same situations, and most importantly, in changing them. Because knowing yourself on this level? That changes everything. Why Me? Let’s be honest, you could go to any astrologer. There are plenty out there. But you’re here, reading this, which tells me something. You’re looking for more than just technical astrology. You want guidance that feels real. You want wisdom that speaks your language, not something lofty and abstract, but something you can apply to your actual, messy, beautiful life. That’s exactly what I bring to the table. I don’t just read charts; I see people. I know what it’s like to feel lost because I’ve been there. I know the frustration of feeling like life is happening to you instead of through you. And I know the power of astrology to change that, because it changed me. I speak to those of you who are overwhelmed, stretched too thin, questioning if this is all there is. The ones navigating relationships that feel unfulfilling, careers that no longer inspire, lives that feel like they’re missing some kind of spark. I see you because I was you. And astrology? It was my way home. How Can This Help You? Imagine knowing that the things you struggle with aren’t random. That your patterns, your fears, your dreams, they all make sense. Imagine having permission to be exactly who you are, without shame or self-judgment. Imagine seeing your relationships in a new light, understanding your cycles of growth, and finally feeling like you have direction. This is what astrology gives you. A fresh perspective. A deeper understanding. A sense of purpose that’s been there all along, just waiting for you to claim it. When you book a session with me, we’re not just ticking off planets and houses. We’re having a real, heart-centred conversation about you, your life, your challenges, and your deepest longings. I trust The Gods to reveal exactly what you need to hear, whether you know what that is yet or not. Every reading is different, because you are different. Our conversation will flow naturally, centred around what is most relevant and important for you in this moment. This isn’t about predicting your future. It’s about giving you the tools to create the one you truly want. Why See an Astrologer Regularly? Astrology isn’t just a one-time thing, it’s a lifelong tool for growth and self-discovery. Just like you wouldn’t go to the gym once and expect lasting results, astrology works best when you engage with it over time. Life is always moving, always shifting, and The Gods continue speaking long after your first reading. Checking in with your chart regularly helps you stay in tune with yourself, offering clarity when life feels uncertain and reminding you of your deeper purpose when you get lost in the day-to-day. When you work with me over time, we build a relationship. I come to know your chart like an old friend, recognising the recurring themes, the progress you’ve made, and the lessons still unfolding. Together, we track your journey, celebrating growth, making sense of challenges, and finding the best way forward when life throws the unexpected your way. Think of it as having a trusted guide who speaks both the language of the stars and the language of you . Whether you’re navigating love, career changes, spiritual awakening, or simply seeking deeper self-awareness, our ongoing conversations with The Gods will keep you aligned with your true path. Ready to Begin? If you’ve been waiting for a sign, this is it. If you feel the pull to know yourself on a deeper level, I’d love to share this sacred conversation with you. It’s time to stop settling. It’s time to stop feeling lost. It’s time to invest in yourself. Not because you’re broken or need fixing, but because you deserve to know yourself deeply. - The January Blues
I think this will become a blog post about astrology, but it begins with a feeling: Disgruntlement. With a side of hopelessness. I don't know about you but this January feels harder than most. January is my time of year. I was born on the 4th, way back in 1974, when the backdrop was loud, and full of pattern and colour. I usually feel a lift at the beginning of the year, when my birthday rolls around, and it's more about me than everyone else. When Christmas has been ticked off. Presents given and the obligatory decorations put away. There's a sense of renewal. Of freshness. Of possibilities. Sights can be set on the year ahead and, with that Capricorn spirit initiated, energy can be rallied for plans to be made. What will I achieve this year? What will I aim for? What will a decide to be disciplined about and to work towards? Last year astrology was my focus. I'd signed up for some new classes. I'd started writing blog posts more frequently and I had a social media strategy and intention. Post more. Build engagement. Put myself out there more. I committed to in person readings with a wonderful well being studio. Things felt promising. Like change was possible and I could actually do this. And for much of the year I did. I got into a routine. I made time to invest in it. My website was active and full of life. My social media was busy and vibrant. I had some bookings, and met some wonderful people, and gave some rewarding readings. But somewhere along the way. As the year progressed. My energy for it waned and feelings of irritation and strain crept in. I didn't seem to be getting any bookings from all the effort I was making. And it was a lot on top of the full time job. I started to question the point. I figured that would change when January arrived. I trusted that as the new energy poured in, and my inner seagoat was in the spotlight once again, I would feel as hopeful and enthusiastic as I'd done last year, and would begin again. I thought I'd be inspired. And clear on what to do and where to go. And assumed I'd have the energy to take action. To do. In order to be. But I don't. I'm tired. And indecisive. I no longer like what I have but don't seem to have the will to do anything about it. I can feel that change would be good. Is needed. But I don't seem to be able to work out what that should look like. Let alone action it. Now I should mention here that I am just getting over the flu. And am aware that could be part of the reason I am feeling so gloomy. It makes sense. But I am a traditional astrologer. And I am also fully aware that everything is written in the stars. So even the flu was destined. And if this miserable mood is predetermined. If there's meaning and purpose in it (as I've learned there is in everything), then a conversation with The Gods should illuminate the why and perhaps that will give me a new perspective and help to shift me into a more constructive state of mind. This is what traditional astrology offers us, after all. Not prediction in the fortune-telling sense, but perspective. A way of seeing our inner weather as part of a larger pattern. When we feel stuck or lost, the question isn't "what's wrong with me?" but "where am I in the cycle?" There's dignity in that. Permission to be exactly as we are, because the cosmos itself is showing us that this moment has its rightful place in the unfolding story. So why is this January feeling so hard? The Astrology Let's first ask Saturn. The taskmaster. January is His domain after all. Where is Saturn and what is He highlighting to us at this moment in time? Saturn is in Pisces and finishing up a two an a half year project that He's been working on in the sign. Pisces is the final sign of the zodiac wheel. Aries is the beginning of the story, so Pisces is the end. Pisces is where we conclude. We resolve. And let go. In order to begin again fresh, to be reborn, and initiate a new story, in Aries. So it's possible. If we view it through Saturn's lens. That Saturn is also tired. Saturn is also worn out. Saturn is also low on energy. And look at all The Gods currently in Capricorn! Gods that Saturn, even in his worn out state, must host. That's quite a weighty bunch! Venus, God of love and relationships, of pleasure and joy, still burned out by The Sun's rays and in the 29th degree, the critical degree, of a sign She sees the purpose in, but isn't exactly aligned with her carefree nature. The Sun, who in Capricorn, needs to work hard to shine. Mars, our God of War, fired up as His best self in Capricorn and newly reborn but still under the beams of The Sun. Mercury, heading into The Sun for Their own rebirth moment. And The Moon. Farthest from Her home of Cancer, She is also in Her balsamic phase, hidden in the dark, awaiting Her own rebirth with the New Moon on the 18th of January. All of whom are opposite Jupiter who, as God of expansion, is performing His usual job of amplifying exactly what They are doing and how They are feeling. So even if all we take is this picture, and we ignore all the other factors we could layer in, it seems entirely reasonable that I am feeling so low. It seems entirely justified that there is no energy to be had, at the moment. No inspiration. No hope. Our Gods are embroiled in a process. And we have no option but to be where we are, be where They are, until things change. As they will. As they do. As time ticks on. Can we be where we are? If this is a seasons end. A stories end. Then perhaps what we're feeling now is needed. Perhaps it is a time to grieve. To feel the melancholy of a time that is ending. In order to make space for the new to arrive. Perhaps now isn't the time to begin the new. That time will come. But for now it is time to just sit in the dark and allow the feelings be. They won't stay. Nothing ever does. Given enough time. And things will change. The line up of Gods will process onward into Aquarius where the mood will shift and we will glimpse an ideal future to carry us forward. Each will meet Pluto, Lord of the underworld, and will descend to their depths to be reborn again. Skin's shed. Cleansed by the fires of hell. Naked. And new. Just in time for Saturn to leave Pisces to join Neptune in Aries, and begin that new cycle around the wheel, and write that new story. Venus will move out ahead of The Sun and will shine bright once more, gracing our sky with Her glorious illuminating presence. Who knows how we'll feel then. When all that change is afoot. Perhaps then I'll find my direction. My drive. My inspiration. And until then, I'll do my best to be where I am. And to trust that if I needed to do something. To plan. To create. Then I would feel inspired to do so. And would have the required energy to do it. There's a paradox here worth sitting with. I've just sat and written this entire post whilst claiming to have no energy or inspiration. Perhaps that's the lesson Saturn is teaching from His weary position in Pisces. That sometimes the work gets done even when there is no force of will or burst of enthusiasm. The work happens through simply showing up, and honouring the rhythm of things even when we can't see where it's leading. Jung spoke of the wounded healer. Gurdjieff reminded us that we sleep through most of our lives, and that waking up happens in moments, not once and for all. Perhaps this darkness, this January tiredness, is itself a kind of waking. An honest reckoning with what is, rather than what we think should be. The Kybalion teaches us that everything flows, that the pendulum swings in every direction. Which means this heaviness won't last. But also that the enthusiasm and clarity we're longing for won't last either when they arrive. Just as my enthusiasm and energy waned last year, despite seeming so promising when I set my intentions at the start. We're always in the middle of the cycle. There is no neat arrival point where we finally have it all sorted. So perhaps the question isn't "when will I feel better?" but "what does this moment ask of me?" And if the answer is simply to rest, to grieve what's ending, to sit in the dark with The Moon and wait, well, that's work too. The kind Saturn understands, even if our productivity-obsessed culture doesn't. As within, so without. As above, so below. If the cosmos is in a moment of transition and release, perhaps we're meant to be as well. We're not supposed to push against it. Or will ourselves into false enthusiasm. Instead perhaps we can trust that when the New Moon arrives on the 18th, when Saturn eventually shifts into Aries, when Venus emerges bright from The Sun's rays, we'll be ready. Because we allowed ourselves to be here first. Being with the blues. For now, if you're feeling the January blues too, know that you're not alone. You're not failing at being positive or productive or whatever else we're told we should be as the new year rolls in. You're simply where the story is at this moment. And that's enough. Happy New Year 🎆
- Twin Flame Journey Truths
As I stand here, at over 8 years into my journey, I wanted to share some truths that have served me. I read so many gloomy, angsty posts on twin flame forums, and all of them miss the point of what this is and how it should be. In my opinion anyway. This isn’t a trial of romantic discontent and painful unrequited love. It is a journey of self-recognition and self-realisation. It’s a journey a wiser aspect of you has chosen and designed – specifically for the perfect unique being that you are – to awaken to your truth. It will, if you do the work it is asking of you, and the work you are being intentionally guided through, grant you a freedom unlike anything we, as humans, have experienced on this Earth for eons (maybe ever). YOU have the opportunity to embody The God/Goddess and walk The Earth as One with The Universe. You are not meant to stay in the victim like energy, feeling as if you have been cheated out of something magical. You are not meant to be beholden to anyone who doesn’t lift you up and see you as the majestic sovereign being that you are. You are not meant to stay small and powerless. You are not meant to wait for Divine Intervention – YOU are The Divine. Only YOU have the power to change your reality. You are not meant to cry, and whine, and moan because your cosmic other half has chosen someone else, or discarded you for whatever reason. That’s not who YOU are and it is not why YOU are here. Remember who the f**k you are. 1 The Truth about Signs and synchronicities These appear for YOU so that you remember that The Universe is created with you and through you. You are One with The All. Signs and synchronicities appear for you because you are not separate from your reality - reality is being born through you. YOU are The Universe experiencing itself. But here's where we stumble (and we all do): we get drunk on them. We see the numbers - 11:11, 22:22, 444, 144 - and immediately the mind rushes in with its interpretations. "This means reunion is coming. This means I'm on the right path. This means they're thinking of me." We impose narrative, create prophecy, mistake the finger pointing at the moon for the moon itself. The mind is tricky. We see what we want to see and believe what we want to believe. We can get lost in it and miss the point entirely. The truth is simpler and more profound: these meaningful coincidences exist only to remind you that YOU are not separate from The Universe. They are reflections of your inner state, mirrors showing you that the boundary between inner and outer is permeable, illusory. They guide you home to this recognition – that's all. You don't need to interpret them. You don't need to decode them like secret messages from a cosmic beloved who's watching you from afar. The synchronicity itself - the fact that it occurred, that you noticed it, that reality responded to your attention - that's the teaching. The moment you try to make it mean something specific, you've handed your power to the mind, and the mind cannot be trusted. It will weave whatever story serves its need for certainty, for control, for hope that you won't have to do the real work. Signs and synchronicities in their purest form do only this: they whisper, "You are not alone because you are not separate. You are the one creating this, even when you can't see how." That recognition - even for a moment - is the crack in the sleeping state. Don't fill it with meaning. Let it remain open and let it remind you of what you are. If there is a point beyond that simple recognition, it's this: your outer reality is an expression of your inner reality . The signs you receive can guide you because they are you. Not messages from outside, but reflections from within. When you see them clearly - without the mind's desperate interpretations, without the need to make them promise something they can't deliver - they become what they've always been: evidence that you and your reality are not two separate things. YOU are the dreamer and the dream. Stay present to that. Don't try to read the future in them. Don't make them responsible for your happiness or your hope. Just see them, feel the shiver of recognition, and return to the work of gathering yourself. The signs will continue to appear because that's what reality does when you're paying attention. But they're not the destination. They're breadcrumbs reminding you to wake up, to stay conscious, to remember. 2 You are Your Universe Everything you experience, everything you feel, everything you think - all of it is an expression of you, formed through your inner reality. Your outer world is a direct reflection of who you are. We learn this first through the twin and whatever relationship we do or don't have with them. We're taught: they are us . This is true. But it's not just them. Everyone we encounter and how they behave towards us - every interaction, every rejection, every moment of love or cruelty - is a reflection of us. Everything we imagine anyone else is thinking about us is a reflection of what we think about ourselves. Our world is a mirror, informing us who we are in truth. And who we are? That's been constructed. Built layer upon layer from conditioning, experiences, genetics, family patterns, ancestral lineage, cultural programming. You've been told who you are from the moment you were conceived - before, if we follow the thread far enough back. These instructions sank deep. They became the operating system running beneath your conscious awareness. This is what you create from: who you think you are. Who you've been conditioned to be creates your outer reality. But here's the opening, the crack in the prison: you are not fixed. Your reality is not fixed. As you see more of who you are - as you learn to identify the conditioning, to spot the programming running in the background - who you are begins to transform. The act of witnessing the machine begins to separate you from the machine. You become the observer, not just the observed. And as you transform, so does your world. This is mechanics. It’s energy. When the inner shifts, the outer must follow because they are not two separate things. The more clearly you can see what you've been programmed and conditioned to be - the more you can distinguish between essence and personality, between Real I and the collection of mechanical 'I's - the more you can dissolve the binds that hold you captive. These binds are invisible because they feel like you . "This is just who I am," you say. But it's not. It's who you were made to be by forces that had their own agenda, their own fears, their own unfinished business. When you see this clearly - not just understand it intellectually - the binds loosen. And as they loosen, your reality shifts. Different people appear. Different opportunities arise. The same people behave differently towards you because you're no longer emanating the same frequency, the same unconscious demands, the same unspoken agreements to play out ancient patterns. This work isn't comfortable. Most people, when they glimpse the truth that their reality is their own creation, immediately weaponise it against themselves. "I created this pain? Then I'm to blame. I manifested this abandonment? Then I'm broken." No. You didn't consciously create your conditioning. You inherited it, absorbed it, survived it. But now you have the opportunity to create something new. This is why the twin appears. They trigger every piece of unconscious programming you carry so that you can finally see it. They hold up the mirror with such intensity that you can no longer look away. What you do with that reflection determines everything: do you blame the mirror, or do you use it to see clearly for the first time in your life? Your only choice is whether to stay identified with the conditioning or to begin the work of separating from it. 3 The Mind and The Stories We Tell Ourselves What we think we think and believe sits on the surface of who we are - the conscious layer, the part we can access easily, the thoughts we're aware of thinking. But this is the smallest part. Most of what we think and believe is hidden beneath that surface, running like an underground river we've never seen but that determines the entire landscape of our lives. It's these hidden thoughts and beliefs - these unconscious expectations formed through experiences we've been having since before we could speak, since we were conceived - that The Mind is creating from. The mind isn't neutral. It's not a blank slate recording reality as it is. It's a construction machine, building your reality moment by moment from these buried blueprints. And here's the disturbing truth: you don't know what those blueprints say. You think you believe you're worthy of love, but your unconscious might be broadcasting "I am too much" or "I will be abandoned." You think you believe you're capable, but somewhere deep in the mechanism runs the programme "I always fail" or "success means danger." How do you find out what you truly believe beneath the surface? Stop listening to what you tell yourself and start watching what you create. The experiences you have, the relationships you attract, the way people in your life behave towards you, the patterns that repeat no matter how you try to break them - this is the mind's hidden content made visible. Your world is the printout of the unconscious programme. We are machines running on old programming. The mind creates automatically, mechanically, from conditioning we didn't choose and mostly don't even know we carry. It absorbed instructions from your parents' marriage, from your first abandonment, from your culture's unspoken rules, from your lineage's unhealed trauma. All of this sank into the unconscious and became the foundation from which you think, feel, and create. But we are not fixed. This is crucial. The conditioning is deep, but it is not destiny. The work is to uncover what you truly think and believe beneath the surface layer of acceptable thoughts. This requires ruthless self-observation without judgment - watching yourself react, watching your patterns play out, watching what you create in your life and asking, "What must I believe deep down for this to be my reality?" When you see the programme running, you're no longer wholly identified with it. You become the observer of the machine, not just the machine itself. This is the beginning of separation, the first stirring of consciousness. Then comes the harder work: training the mind to think in truth. If the mind becomes clear and true – if you can actually clean the lens through which you perceive and create reality – then a pure experience here on Earth becomes possible. 4 The Heart and True Nature Beneath all the conditioning, beneath all the programming, beneath the mind's endless construction of reality, and the stories we tell ourselves, there is something else. Something that was there before the conditioning began. Something that remains untouched by all the trauma and programming and inherited patterns. We come from love. Not the conditional love we experience in human relationships - the love that says "I'll love you if..." or "I'll love you when..." or "I'll love you until..." But Love as the fundamental ground of being. The creative principle itself. The force that brings form from formlessness, that animates matter, that connects all things. We are love in truth. This is what the mystics discovered when they went deep enough: at the root of consciousness, at the core of essence, there is only this. Love as the substance of reality itself. But here's the thing: we can't experience that pure love, that divine love, if we don't know it. And we don't know it because we're looking through the distorted lens of the conditioned mind. We're trying to experience love through the filter of unworthiness, through the programme that says we're not enough, through the expectation that love means suffering or sacrifice or loss. Instead, we experience a distortion. We feel love mixed with fear. We feel connection mixed with the terror of abandonment. We mistake intensity for depth, need for desire, projection for recognition. We create relationships that replicate our wounds because that's what the unconscious programme knows how to create. The heart holds the truth. Not the emotional heart that gets broken and needs healing. The essential heart – what the Egyptians called the ib , what the Sufis call the qalb , what traditional astrology places as The Sun, the vital centre. This heart knows love because it is love. It doesn't need to learn it or earn it or find it in another person. When you do the work of clearing the mind - when you've gathered the scattered pieces, when you've seen the conditioning clearly, when you've created the generative force through your own conscious effort - you finally arrive at the root of who you are. And what you find there isn't the wounded child, isn't the collection of traumas, isn't the story you've been telling yourself about who you are. What you find is love. This is what Rumi means by: "Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it." When you get to this root - when you touch essence, when you know yourself as love rather than as the wounded personality seeking love - your reality can express that love back to you. You can realise your inner divinity here and now. 5 The Journey Itself None of this happens overnight. We don't read about essence and suddenly embody it. We don't understand the teaching intellectually and find ourselves transformed. This is work that unfolds over years, not weeks. Think of it as a staircase. At the top stands you in your purest form. But we can't leap up those stairs in a single bound, or even two at a time, no matter how much we want to. We have to take it one step at a time, and each step requires something from us: honesty, presence, the willingness to see what we'd rather not see. But here's what I've found after eight years on this path: the journey itself is wondrous. Each layer you uncover brings you closer to the truth of who you are. And there's so much joy in that, a sense of coming home to yourself piece by piece. You're not alone in this. Once you make the genuine decision to begin, everything changes. The whole Universe will conspire to help and support you once you decide that you are ready to start the climb. Opportunities appear. Teachers arrive. The right books fall into your hands at the right time. Circumstances arrange themselves to show you exactly what you need to see next. Magic and miracles light up your path. Nothing but yourself can stand in your way. The Work of Changing the Mind The mind will not change simply through wanting it to change. It will not change through understanding that it should change. It will not change through affirmations spoken over the top of programmes that continue to run beneath them, unchanged and undisturbed. The mind changes through a specific kind of work, repeated until new pathways are carved. This is not comfortable work. It requires something most people are unwilling to give: continuous self-observation without the luxury of immediate results. It takes time. It takes patience. It takes practice. Here's a guide to get you started: First: Catch the program running You must become a witness to your own mechanical mind. This means developing what Gurdjieff called "divided attention" - the ability to be in an experience while simultaneously observing yourself having the experience. Start here: Choose one recurring pattern in your life. Perhaps it's how you react when someone doesn't text you back. Perhaps it's the anxiety that rises when you're about to be seen or judged. Perhaps it's the way you collapse into smallness around certain people. For one week, do nothing but observe this pattern when it appears. Don't try to change it. Don't judge yourself for having it. Simply watch it like you're a scientist studying a specimen. Notice: What triggers it? (Be specific: not "rejection" but "seeing they've posted on social media but haven't replied to my message") What does your body do? (Chest tightens? Stomach drops? Shoulders curl forward?) What thoughts immediately arise? (Write them down verbatim: "I'm not important enough." "They've found someone better." "I always end up alone.") What do you do next? (Check their profile again? Text someone else? Eat? Distract? Create a story to make it bearable?) This observation alone - done consistently, without trying to fix anything - begins to create separation between you and the program. You start to see: "There's the pattern again." Not "I am unlovable" but "There's the program that says I'm unlovable, running automatically as it always does." Second: Trace it to its origin Once you can see a program clearly, trace it backwards. This isn't endless therapy or excavating every childhood memory. It's specific archaeological work. You're digging into your past to find the root of the program. Ask: When did I first feel this exact feeling? Not a similar feeling – this one, with this particular flavour, this specific quality of contraction or pain. Sit quietly. Let the question drop into your body, not your mind. The body remembers what the conscious mind has forgotten. Wait. An image might arise, a memory, a sense of being very young. You might be three years old, watching your mother turn away. You might be seven, overhearing something you weren't meant to hear. You might even sense something from the womb, absorbing your mother's fear or your father's anger. When you find the origin point – and you'll know it because your body will respond, something will unlock or release or tighten – you've found where the program was installed. Now here's the crucial part: Don't try to heal it. Don't try to comfort the child. Don't try to rewrite the story. Simply see it. "Ah. This belief that I'm too much/not enough/will be abandoned was formed here, in this moment, when this happened. The three-year-old me made sense of an experience the only way a three-year-old could, and that interpretation became the operating system." The seeing itself begins to dissolve the program's power. Not because you've healed the wound, but because you've seen that it's not true now, wasn't even true then, was only a child's interpretation of circumstances they couldn't control or understand. Third: Install new programs through conscious repetition Here's what most teachings miss: you cannot simply delete the old program. The groove is too deep. The pathway is too well-worn. You must create a new pathway that becomes deeper, more automatic, more compelling than the old one. This is done through conscious repetition in the moment the old program wants to run. Let's say you've identified the program: "When someone withdraws attention from me, I believe I've done something wrong and I must fix it immediately or I'll be abandoned." Next time you feel that trigger: Stop the automatic response. Physically. If you're reaching for your phone to send another message, put the phone down. If you're about to people-please or over-explain, close your mouth. This will be uncomfortable. Your entire nervous system will scream at you to complete the pattern. Don't. Sit with the discomfort. Breathe. Stay present to the sensation in your body without acting on it. Speak the truth aloud (or write it down). Not the program's truth, but what you know intellectually to be true, even if you don't feel it yet: "This person's withdrawal says nothing about my worth. I am not responsible for managing their emotional state. My value doesn't depend on their attention." You won't believe these words at first. That's fine. You're not trying to convince yourself. You're creating a new groove in the mind through repetition. Choose a different action. Deliberately do something that contradicts the old program. Instead of texting, go for a walk. Instead of people-pleasing, state your actual preference. Instead of collapsing, stand up straighter and do something that reminds you of your own power – write, create, move your body, work on something that matters to you. The new pathway is built through this sequence: trigger → observe → stop automatic response → speak truth → choose consciously. At first, you'll only manage this once out of twenty times the pattern runs. That's fine. The nineteenth time you run the old program mechanically, but the twentieth time you catch it – that's a victory. That's the new pathway beginning to form. Over time – weeks, months, not days – the new response becomes more automatic. You catch yourself earlier. The old program runs less frequently, with less intensity. Eventually, the trigger that used to send you spiralling barely registers, because you've genuinely installed new programming through conscious repetition. Fourth: Engage the body The mind doesn't exist separately from the body. The programs are stored in your nervous system, your muscles, your cells. You cannot change the mind through mental work alone. When you're practising the new response, engage your body deliberately: Stand or sit differently than you usually do when the program runs. If you normally collapse inward, stand tall. If you normally get rigid, soften. Breathe differently. The old program has a breathing pattern associated with it (usually shallow, held, restricted). Breathe deeply, slowly, fully. Move. The program wants you to freeze or to take anxious action. Instead, move consciously – stretch, dance, walk, anything that reminds the body that it has agency. The body learns through repetition even faster than the mind. When you pair the new thought with a new physical state, the programming changes more rapidly. Fifth: Accept that this is never finished The old programs don't disappear. They become dormant, less active, less compelling. But under extreme stress, exhaustion, or trauma, they can reactivate. Forgive yourself when this happens. You are human. The work is not to achieve a state where you're permanently free of conditioning. The work is to develop the capacity to observe the program running and choose whether to follow it or not. To catch yourself ten seconds into the old pattern instead of ten hours. To return to presence more quickly each time you fall back asleep. This is what it means to change the mind.
- Walking with Saturn: A Life Told in Cycles
The Spiral Path of Becoming We all carry a Saturn story. Not just once, but in cycles. Like the Moon’s phases, Saturn speaks to us through beginnings, tensions, climaxes, and reckonings. But where the Moon dances through Her cycle in 29 days, Saturn takes 29 years to complete His orbit. This is the long game. The work that takes time. The slow becoming. Saturn doesn’t just show us who we are. He reveals who we’re here to become. The Saturn Cycle – A Life in Four Movements Let’s think of it like the Moon cycle: The Saturn Return (New Moon) – Something begins. You are being born into your own authority. The First Square (First Quarter Moon) – Challenge arrives. You’re tested. It’s time to act, shift, respond. You can’t avoid the tension. You must grow. The Opposition (Full Moon) – The story peaks. You’re face-to-face with what you built. Does it feel aligned? Or are the cracks showing? The Final Square (Last Quarter Moon) – Something’s ending. The work here is clearing, distilling, and integrating. You don’t yet know what’s next—but something must go. Saturn asks us not for perfection, but for responsibility. Not for ambition, but for alignment. Not to succeed in the eyes of the world, but to become more fully ourselves. My Saturn Story – From Mother to Me My own cycle began with Saturn high in the sky, right at the top of my chart. The call was always about who I’m meant to be in the world, how I define success, and what legacy I’ll leave behind. Saturn Return (Age 29) I was desperate to become a mother. Not just vaguely ready. Desperate. And yet, my partnership wasn’t a steady foundation. Saturn stood at the door and said: Choose . I did. I said I wanted children—and if he didn’t, we had to go separate ways. He came round eventually. But it didn’t land clean. When my son was born, I felt the rift beneath us. We weren’t on the same page, not really. And Saturn doesn’t ignore what’s unspoken. First Quarter Square (~Age 36) The cracks became chasms. The house of cards fell. Within two years I had left the marriage and moved into my own home. I had to learn to manage it all alone. This was the square: the time of action. Not a tidy beginning. A break. Opposition (~Age 44) Then, the peak. The moment that changed everything. I met someone—and it felt like fate. Like a mirror. Like madness. My twin flame, though I didn’t know that language yet. It was the start of my celibacy, the start of turning inward instead of outward. I began the real work of self. The marriage had brought my children. This brought me… me . Final Square (Now, as Saturn Enters Aries) And now—another turning. Another gate. Saturn steps into Aries and I feel the shift again. My children are grown. One’s already flown, the other preparing to. My responsibility is changing shape. And this time, I’m not desperate. I’m not clinging. I feel ready for what’s next, even if I don’t yet know what it is. And isn’t that the essence of this phase? The final square isn’t about doing more. It’s about doing differently. Knowing what you’ve carried. Letting go of what you no longer need. Preparing the ground for a new cycle. Reflections for Your Own Saturn Story So… where are you in your Saturn cycle? 🌓 Are you around 29? Feeling the press of maturity, the weight of decision, the call to step into something more? 🌕 Are you mid-40s, facing the harvest of what you’ve built? Are you proud? Or are you being called to change? 🌗 Are you approaching 52? Letting go of roles you’ve long identified with? Starting to feel the whisper of a new dream forming? 🌑 Or maybe you’re on the threshold of your next Return, ready to step into a brand-new chapter with the wisdom of experience behind you. Wherever you are, Saturn walks beside you. Not to punish—but to make real what matters. An Invitation to Listen This isn’t about having it all figured out. Saturn doesn’t demand perfection. He asks for presence. For discipline. For a commitment to truth. What chapter are you in? And what might change if you met it with grace? How to Track Your Saturn Cycle (and What It Might Mean for You) To personalise your Saturn journey, start by finding your natal Saturn sign . This tells you when your cycle began and sets the tone for what Saturn is helping you build across your life. Then look at your age to work out what phase of the cycle you're currently in. 🔍 Step 1: Find Your Saturn Sign If you don’t know it, you can generate your birth chart online or message me with your date, time, and place of birth and I’ll tell you your Saturn sign (and your current phase). Each sign offers a flavour of the Saturn story you’re here to live. Some quick sign meanings: Saturn in Aries : Learning to lead without aggression. Building inner confidence. The courage to begin. Saturn in Taurus : Learning self-worth. Building something slow, steady, and lasting. Making peace with the material world. Saturn in Gemini : Learning to speak your truth. Creating clarity in thought. Holding duality with wisdom. Saturn in Cancer : Learning emotional maturity. Parenting yourself. Finding safety inside. Saturn in Leo : Learning to shine responsibly. Owning your gifts without needing applause. Saturn in Virgo : Learning discernment. Bringing order to chaos. Making the mundane sacred. Saturn in Libra : Learning boundaries in love. Balancing self and other. Choosing with wisdom. Saturn in Scorpio : Learning to trust transformation. Facing fear. Walking with power. Saturn in Sagittarius : Learning truth from experience. Committing to belief. Walking the talk. Saturn in Capricorn : Learning integrity. Taking full responsibility. Becoming the elder. Saturn in Aquarius : Learning to be your own authority. Building for the collective. Daring to be different. Saturn in Pisces : Learning to trust the intangible. Holding the dream and the boundary. Making the unseen real. ⏳ Step 2: Locate Your Phase by Age Here’s a rough guide to help orient yourself. Saturn moves slowly, so these are approximate. The exact dates depend on the degree of your natal Saturn: Phase Approx Age Saturn Return 28–30 First Square 36–38 Opposition 43–45 Final Square 51–53 Second Return 58–60 If you’re in your late twenties, you’re being born again into adulthood. If you’re around 37, life may be testing the foundation of what you built. At 44, you might be looking back at what’s grown—and what needs to shift. At 52, you’re being asked to simplify and prepare for something new. 💡 Example: Saturn in Cancer at the Midheaven (My Cycle) My Saturn cycle began at the top of my chart in Cancer. My work in the world was always going to be connected to care, parenting, emotional responsibility. My Saturn Return (age 29) was all about becoming a mother. I had to take action even though the relationship wasn’t solid. The first square brought the collapse of that relationship—and the building of a new life. At the opposition , I met someone who triggered a full inner transformation. I stopped looking outward. I began the real work. Now, as Saturn re-enters Aries, I’m stepping into the final square . My children are grown. The role of mother is evolving. I can feel another self forming. Knowing this cycle has brought me clarity, grace, and the ability to meet each phase with reverence instead of resistance. 🪞 Want to Know Where You Are in Your Cycle? If you know your Saturn sign, I can tell you where you are. If not, send me your birth details and I’ll work it out for you. If you’re feeling the stir of change, the weight of something shifting, or the call to become more of yourself—Saturn might be knocking. 🏔️ The Mountain and the Moment If Saturn’s cycle is a mountain, then the return is where the climb begins. The first square is steep. The opposition is halfway up—when you look around and think, is this it? Is this really where I thought I’d be? And the final square? Maybe that’s the top. Or maybe it’s just another ledge with a clearer view. That’s where I am now. Somewhere near the top. Or what feels like it. My children are nearly grown. The home I built with my own hands is quieting. My role as mother is changing. It’s not over—but it’s not what it was. I’ve walked a long way to get here. Alone, mostly. Not because I wanted to be, but because life asked me to stand on my own. To grow up. To stop waiting for someone to catch me and learn how to hold myself. And I have. Mostly. Enough. I don’t feel triumphant. I feel… tired. Stronger. Wiser, maybe. But also more aware of how little I know. There’s no ribbon at the top. No gold star. Just a moment of stillness. A knowing. A sense that something is shifting. That what comes next isn’t about climbing anymore—it’s about carrying what I’ve learned. Living it. Maybe sharing it, if that feels right. Saturn isn’t clapping. He just nods. Quietly. Like He always does. And then we keep walking. If you’re somewhere on your own mountain—at the start, at the middle, or near the top—and you’re wondering what this part of the path is asking of you, I’d be honoured to walk alongside you for a while. - The Time is (K)now
As the wheel of the year turns we enter a liminal space where time stands still. We are in between the old of 2025 and before the new of 2026. Here in the Northern Hemisphere darkness prevails and so we brighten it with light we forge ourselves, with twinkling fairy lights and colourful decorations, with fridges full of treats and the company of those we love the most. We are invited at this time to pause, and reflect, on what has been and what is to come. But more importantly we are reminded to be where we are and enJOY who we're with. Take a moment. You are exactly where you're supposed to be. We have just passed through the longest night of the solstice, when The Sun enters Capricorn on the darkest night and the light begins its slow return. This year, in a rare turn of events, we are also in the dark of the New Moon, the pause in the cycle where The Moon retreats, She dies, and is reborn. Beginning a new cycle, weaving a new story, and showing us that we are always given the opportunity to do the same. It is the time to lay what's been to rest, to give thanks for the experiences we have had (the 'good', and 'the bad'), and clear a space for the new to arrive. We don't know exactly what is coming. We can set our intents. But the future will always surprise us. And would we want it any other way? Astrology shows us the shape of what's to come, the flavour of what is heading our way. The Gods in our heavens are a reflection of what is transpiring here on Earth. So if we know where They are, and who They are conversing with, we can have an idea of the experiences we could have, experiences that mirror Theirs. As above, so below. So what's occurring above, as we speak? And how might that translate? Remember: we are all unique, we all have a precise blueprint (our birth chart shows us who we are and the grand archetypes we hold within), and so how things transpire for us, will be unique for us. The conversations The Gods are having will mirror our own in a way that is specific to us depending on how They are interacting with our own individuality. To understand what's happening for us, we need to know ourselves. And that, in my humble opinion, is the key to unlocking our potential here on Earth. Our birth chart can tell us all about ourselves and the experiences we have had, and will have. If you have yet to get to know yours I can assist with a reading - book in online with me here . The Current Quality of Time Here's what matters: you don't need to understand every planetary movement to feel the shift that's occurring. A part of you already knows. Perhaps you've felt the weight of things coming to completion, or sensed something stirring just beneath the surface, waiting. The restlessness. The readiness. The quiet knowing that change is close. The real gift astrology offers us isn't prediction, it's permission. Permission to trust what we're already feeling. Permission to see that our personal struggles and victories aren't happening in isolation, but are part of something far grander. When we understand the larger patterns moving through the heavens, we can stop fighting against the current and start working with it. We can recognise that the challenge we're facing isn't a mistake or a punishment, but an invitation to grow in a very specific way. The Gods in the sky are mirrors, and what They show us is this: you are not separate from what's unfolding. You are woven into it, part of the grand design. So when you read what follows don't just take it as information. Let it be confirmation of what you already sense is true for you. The Sun has just entered Capricorn , the sign of the Seagoat, ruled by Saturn, The Father of the zodiac. When I talk about Capricorn I always reference the mountain because Capricorn is where we strive to climb, to build, to achieve, to do . Mars loves it here for that reason. Capricorn pushes us to grow, to do better, to be better. And that takes work. Discipline. Strength. Resilience. Just like climbing the mountain we have to take it step by step. Sometimes we'll be blind, the fog will roll in and we'll lose sight of what we're doing and where we're going. We'll get tired. And feelings of despondency will creep in. Why does it always have to be so hard? Why are there always barriers to what I want? A storm. A sheer cliff face. Sometimes we'll be forced to stop. Step back. Find another way. But Capricorn, just like the mountain, always holds the promise. That eventually, if we keep putting one step in front of the other, if we keep pushing forwards despite the challenges, despite the time and energy it's cost us, we will make it to the top. We will clear the fog. We will stand atop and marvel at the view. Doesn't this seem like the perfect energy at hand for the time we are in? We are always at the top of a mountain. We can always pause and look back at where we've been, at how far we've come, at what we've achieved. And from there we can look forward to our next climb, the next mountain, and plan what we want to do and how we might envision getting there. But what's always important is that we don't lose sight of now. Now is where it's at. And that's our Sun. Always shining no matter where we are on the mountain. Hidden in a cave sheltering from the storm, or above the clouds in His full majesty. So take your moment. Pause. Reflect. Give yourself a pat on the back for all that you have become. For everything you have achieved. And take some time to enjoy it. It's Christmas after all. So what of the other Gods? Where are They and how are They in support (or not) in this moment? We'll start with Saturn since He is hosting The Sun, and Mars, and The Moon for a few more days. Saturn is now walking slowly forwards in Pisces, heading back towards Neptune, after returning here for the final time in His 30ish year cycle. Saturn is closing out a story that He has been writing in Pisces over the last 2 and a half ish years. A story that tells of the paradox between spiritual enlightenment and material reality. Saturn is the limit, The God that sits on the boundary of what we can see with our naked eye, and what lies beyond. Pisces is the final sign of the zodiac. Pisces is where we remember that we are both a human, being on Earth in a body and a spirit, One with the collective consciousness from which we were born and to which we will return when our stay on Earth is complete. Saturn here teaches us that while what we do here matters and as such we should spend our time wisely and in pursuit of greatness (whatever that means for us personally), we shouldn't take it all too seriously since at the end of the day, life is but a moment in a much larger story arc which is beyond our comprehension to understand and realise. What we do matters, and also doesn't. How seriously we take it is up to us to decide. Neptune is also finishing a much longer cycle around the wheel with a final stay in Pisces ending on the 27th of January. Neptune will then enter Aries, and won't return to this zone of the heavens till January 2176. Neptune: speaks of oneness: you were never separate teaches compassion: for yourself, for others, for the human condition reminds you of the power of imagination , vision , and faith invites you to surrender dissolves what no longer serves, and shows you what love really is And when Neptune is in Pisces, the sign where we remember that we are One with all that is, this energy is amplified. We are invited to know the truth: We are spiritual beings having a human experience. We were never separate. We are never alone. We come from love , and we will return to love when our time here is up. Neptune isn't the only God in the catharsis of ending before beginning anew. Uranus is also in a return, having walked backwards into Taurus to finish off a 7 year story being woven in Venus' earthly domain. Uranus, The Sky God, our God of Change, will stand still on the 3rd of February and then walk back into Gemini on the 26th of April. Uranus in Taurus is shaking the foundations of everything we thought was solid. Uranus is the awakener, the revolutionary, the lightning bolt that cracks open what has calcified. Taurus is the earth beneath our feet, our values, our resources, our bodies, our relationship with the material world. This is a transit of profound tension - the God of sudden change colliding with the sign that craves stability and slowness. Uranus here is asking us to reimagine what we truly value: our money systems, our relationship with the earth, the sanctity of the body, and what it means to feel secure in an uncertain world. Old structures are crumbling - financial systems, the way we relate to nature, the false comforts we've clung to - and something new is trying to be born from the soil. This is the earthquake in the garden, the ground moving beneath us so we learn to find our footing in what's real and true within rather than what we think we can control and build without. The next few months bring and end to Uranus' work in Taurus and things may feel more shaky, before they steady again. The house Taurus sits in in your birth chart will be one to watch over the next few months (see below for an overview by rising sign of where all these changes are taking place). Pluto is currently walking forward in Aquarius after turning retrograde at 3 degrees and 49 minutes in May 2025. Pluto, God of Transformation, will tread new ground from February 5th. Read all about Pluto in Aquarius here . Jupiter is still walking backwards in Cancer, the sign of family, of nurture, and of home. Jupiter spends about a year in every sign and we are in the revision stage of His journey. Jupiter will turn direct on the 12th of March and will leave Cancer and enter Leo on the 30th of June. Jupiter is His best self in Cancer and He brings luck, expansion and benevolence (read more on this here ). While backwards His impact is more subtle. Expansion will happen within before it becomes obvious in our world. What of our personal planets? What are they up to at the moment? Venus and Mercury will join an exalted Mars in Capricorn in the next week - Venus on Christmas Eve and Mercury on New Year's Day. But the real story here is what happens on the 7th of January, when both Venus and Mars are reborn through the heart of The Sun, cazimi, at the exact same moment. This is rare. Mars and Venus - our divine masculine and feminine, our action and our love, our will and our values - beginning a brand new solar cycle together, united in Capricorn, the sign of mastery and long-term vision. They're writing a new story, side by side, with the same intention. What does this mean for us, down here on Earth? It's an invitation to bring these energies into harmony within ourselves. Mars is our desire, our drive, the part of us that knows when to act and what needs to be done. Venus is what we love, what we value, what brings us pleasure and connection. When they're working together rather than at odds, we can move through the world with both strength and grace - building what matters without sacrificing beauty, pursuing our goals without losing touch with love. This transit has the potential to transform how we show up in our relationships, especially the one we have with ourselves. It asks: can your ambition and your heart walk the same path? Can you act from a place of love, and love what you're building? The answer, if we're willing to do the work, is yes. And then Mercury enters the scene. Mercury meets Mars in Capricorn on the 18th of January before moving into Aquarius, to also be reborn through the heart of The Sun on the 21st at 1 degree - the very beginning of the sign. Mercury is the mind, mental clarity, the messenger who makes sense of what's been born. If Mars and Venus united our will and our heart, Mercury gives that union a voice and a vision. Aquarius is the future-thinking sign of Saturn, the sign that dreams of what's possible when we work together, when community becomes the foundation. Where Capricorn builds the structures from the top down, Aquarius envisions the Eden we can create from the ground up - born from the people, for the people. Mercury here helps us articulate the dream. The vision takes practical shape. We can communicate what Mars and Venus have birthed, translate desire and love into ideas that can be shared, understood, and built upon together. The mind catches up to the heart, and the future begins to speak. As within, so without. So what does all this mean for you, standing here at the threshold between years, between cycles, between who you were and who you're becoming? It means this: the work is both cosmic and deeply personal. The Gods are showing us the patterns, the possibilities, the grand design, but it's your mountain to climb. Your relationships to harmonise. Your vision to articulate. Your foundations to rebuild. The Gods don't do the work for us. They simply illuminate the path and remind us we're not walking it alone. This is a time of profound endings and equally profound beginnings. Saturn and Neptune finishing their cycles. Uranus shaking the last of what needs to fall away. Mars and Venus reborn together, united in purpose. These are invitations. To release what no longer serves. To align your will with your heart. To build something real and lasting from a place of truth rather than fear. Your world is a reflection of you. You are The Universe experiencing itself. What's transpiring in your world is much easier to navigate if you can understand how it fits into the bigger picture and when you can see the wisdom - the meaning and purpose - woven through it. Your birth chart can reveal to you your bigger picture and can show you the meaning and purpose intrinsic within the stories you are walking. With more understanding of yourself you can walk your path with more intention and more joy. A conversation with The Gods can bring more grace to your lived experience. Jupiter is reviewing your 5th house of creativity, pleasure, and self-expression. Here's the truth we often forget in our rush to reach the summit: the pleasure isn't in the arrival. It's in the journey itself. Life isn't a series of grand achievements punctuated by waiting - it's a series of small, mundane moments punctuated by the occasional triumph. The morning cup of tea. The conversation that makes you laugh. The quiet satisfaction of a task completed. The way the light falls through the window at 3pm. These moments are the life. These moments are what we're here for. The view from the mountaintop is glorious, yes, but it's fleeting. What sustains us is the climb - every step, every breath, every stumble and recovery. We are here to embrace it all. To find the sacred in the ordinary. To be present for the life we're actually living, not the one we think we should be living or the one we're waiting to arrive at. "As above, so below, as within, so without, as the universe, so the soul." - Hermes Trismegistus, The Kybalion I wish you all the best for the new year ahead! with love, Jenny x

It connects to the mother archetype and shows how we seek emotional security and a sense of belonging. How do you feel? The Moon , equal in importance to the Sun, governs our emotional core , the quiet inner world where feelings, intuition, and memory reside. In Capricorn , this emotional core takes on a structured and disciplined quality, reflecting Capricorn’s practical and responsible nature. This Moon finds comfort not in indulgence but in accomplishment, order, and long-term stability. Their feelings are deep but often filtered through the lens of practicality. Emotional responses are instinctively measured and restrained, driven by a need to maintain stability in themselves and their surroundings. This placement often aligns with a mindset of self-sufficiency. The native may feel that emotional security is something earned through hard work and endurance, rather than something freely given. Feelings, Intuition, and Memory Capricorn's earthy nature grounds the Moon, tying emotional intuition to real-world experiences. These individuals rely on their memories, often shaped by early lessons about responsibility and the value of perseverance. Instinctively, they approach challenges with determination, intuiting solutions that emphasise long-term results. However, memories of emotional hardships or a lack of nurturing in childhood might weigh heavily, influencing their ability to fully embrace and express vulnerability. They may not express emotions in flowery or overtly affectionate ways but show their love through reliability and acts of service. What nurtures and comforts them? Tangible achievements, recognition for their efforts, and the assurance that they are contributing something meaningful. They find solace in structure and a clear sense of purpose, thriving when life feels predictable and under control. Emotional Habits and Instinctual Behaviours Emotionally, the Capricorn Moon responds instinctively with caution and composure. For Harry, this rising sign’s influence might reflect the weight of his royal heritage and the responsibilities that come with it, as well as his deliberate efforts to redefine his identity outside traditional frameworks. His public persona reflects Capricorn’s qualities of ambition and a desire to create lasting impact, while his journey also highlights the rising sign’s theme of striving toward greater authenticity and alignment with one’s core values despite external expectations. - What is surrender on the twin flame journey? How do we do it?
If you're here, you're probably in pain. You're clinging, doubting, resisting. You've heard you need to "surrender" and it sounds like giving up, and if that were possible, you'd have done it already. I understand. I've been there. Here's what I've learned. What Surrender Actually Is Surrender is not giving up on your twin or the connection. Surrender is the practice of releasing your grip on how you think this should look, and returning your focus to yourself. It means: Letting go of obsession with their actions and thoughts Releasing expectations of when and how they'll return Trusting that if this is meant to manifest, it will when you're both ready Shifting from feeling incomplete to recognising you were always whole Releasing the need for answers, closure, or constant reassurance Making space for what's real instead of fantasy Loosening your grip on timelines and countdowns Meeting yourself where you are without judgement Returning to your body and the present moment How to Surrender Face Your Wounds Every time you feel pain, rejection, or longing, ask: "What is this showing me about my unhealed parts?" When you feel unworthy, tend to that part of yourself with the same care you'd offer someone you love. Detach with Love Let them be on their journey without needing them to behave a certain way to make you feel secure. This doesn't mean being cold, it means not needing them to be anything they're not. Find Your Centre Connect with yourself daily through meditation, creativity, movement, or anything that grounds you. Make these moments anchors in your day. Trust the Process Separation isn't punishment; it's preparation. Everything happening is guiding you back to yourself. Live Your Life Fully This journey isn't about waiting. It's about stepping into your highest self now. The Hardest Part: Accepting What Is Accept how you feel. Love, longing, anger, frustration—all valid. You're not wrong to love them. You're not wrong to be furious. Don't gaslight yourself. Feel what you feel honestly. Accept what you believe. You've had these experiences for a reason. Trust what you feel, even if it seems mad. The inner work brings tangible progress. Accept the current reality. Look at what's actually happening, not what you wish was happening. If you're being mistreated, take action. You don't have to accept anything that doesn't serve your highest good. Sometimes acceptance means choosing to step away. Accept this is bigger than you. You cannot control their choices. Release that need. Work with what you can control: your behaviour and your responses. Accept this is happening for you. Trust that everything serves your highest good, even the painful bits. Ask: "What am I meant to learn from this?" Why Surrender Feels Like Death Let's be honest: surrender hurts. It asks you to release the one thing that feels like oxygen. To die to the fantasy. To walk away without knowing if they'll return. This is the ego's unravelling, not your soul's. Why It's Actually Your Rebirth When you stop chasing love, something else arrives. A quiet knowing. A centre that doesn't move. And then, slowly, when you least expect it, the connection returns. Surrender is not the end of the story. It's the doorway. Simple Practices When Obsessing: Notice it. Don't shame yourself. Shift your attention - walk, play music, write what you wish you could say, then close the notebook. Bring the energy back to you. When Expecting: Ask: "What do I need from them that I'm not giving myself?" Then do one thing that honours you instead of refreshing your phone. When Doubting: Hand on heart. Breathe. Say: "If it's meant to be, it will be. Show me what's mine to do today." Then do one small thing that brings peace. When Feeling Empty: Write five things you already have that feel good. Choose one to lean into today. Remember: your life is already alive, already whole. Surrender isn't a one-time event. It's a practice. Each day, each moment, you're choosing it again. And here's the truth: surrender isn't about getting your twin back. It's about getting yourself back. Once you have that, you'll realise that was always the point.
- The Truth No One Tells You About Twin Flames (But You Need to Hear)
Though we may all feel like this journey sets us apart, like we’ve been chosen for something rare, mystical, and beyond ordinary understanding, the truth is— we are all exactly the same . Every person on this path has been drawn into it by a wound. A deep, aching wound that, in some form, has manifested as rejection. For some of us, it was outright—words spoken, choices made, actions taken that left no doubt in our minds that we were not chosen . For others, it is silence . Absence. A connection that feels as though it should be ours, for all the magical and impossible reasons, but has never fully arrived. And no matter how it unfolded, we all find ourselves here, trying to make sense of it, trying to find a way through. The reality is, we are here because of a wound. Whether it’s the reason we found them or the reason they are no longer in our reality, it all comes back to the same truth: something inside us believes we are not worthy of being chosen. Everyone on the twin flame journey carries a self-worth wound. It’s not a coincidence; it’s the core of why we are here. The Twin Flame Wound That Brought Us Here The wound of rejection cuts deeper than any other. It is ridiculously intense for everyone. It is the ultimate confirmation of our greatest fear: I am not enough. They are saying, whether through words or silence, I don’t choose you. I don’t choose to build a life with you. Whether spoken or unspoken, the message is clear. And the more deeply we feel rejected, the more we obsess. We search for signs, we look for loopholes, we try to find a way out of the pain. But here’s the hardest truth of all: holding onto the label, attaching to their return, is bypassing the real work. The pain isn’t in their absence. It isn’t in their choices. It’s in what their absence and their choices are forcing us to see about ourselves. The real wound is inside us . And so we stand at a crossroads. Do we let this wound define us? Do we stay in a place of waiting, holding onto the label, hoping that someday they will return? Or do we face what this journey is actually asking of us—to heal? Healing the wound does not guarantee their return. That is perhaps the hardest truth to accept. Yes, it might shift something. Yes, it might open a path for reunion. But what if it takes a lifetime? What if it never happens? What if, in the waiting, we sacrifice our own lives, our dreams, the families we might have built? For those who are in relationships but longing for another, the wound is different, but no less painful. The feeling that something is missing, that the love we want exists but is just out of reach, becomes its own kind of torment. And for those who have fallen for someone unavailable, the belief that fate has cruelly separated us keeps us trapped. If only circumstances were different. If only they were free. If only, if only, if only… But whether it’s rejection, separation, or longing, the truth remains: They are not part of our future for a reason. And if we keep holding on, we are choosing to suffer. Though the circumstances differ, the experience is the same. It doesn’t matter how much love was there. It doesn’t matter how powerful the connection is. It doesn’t matter how much we want it to be different. They haven't chosen us. And we have to let them go. Rejection is an initiation. It brings us to our knees, cracks us open, forces us to look for meaning in the pain. The more deeply we feel rejected, the more we obsess—scanning for signs, seeking reassurance, looking for an escape from the ache of it. But clinging to the label, attaching to their return as the resolution, is bypassing the real work. The wound is ours to heal, not through their love, but through our own. At some point, we must trust that it is over or it's never going to happen. We must let them go—not just physically, but energetically, emotionally, spiritually. We must grieve. Because only in grieving can we move forward, not in waiting, but in living. The twin flame journey is not about being chosen by them; it is about choosing ourselves. The Root: The Moment We Were Torn from Love This wound did not begin with them. It did not begin with romance, rejection, or even childhood. It began the moment we were born. We entered this world separated from our mother’s love —physically cut from her, thrust from the warmth and safety of her body into a cold, unfamiliar world. We came into existence screaming , because birth is painful. Not just for those who deliver us, but for us as well. And on a metaphysical level, it goes even deeper. Birth is the moment we are torn from God —from divine love, from total comfort, from the place where we were held without pain. In that transition, we forget who we are . We forget that we are love. That we are worthy of love simply by existing. And so, our struggle begins. The Wound Repeats Until We See It This wound does not remain in the moment of birth. It follows us. It writes itself into our childhood, embedding itself so deeply that we mistake it for reality. For some, it is a moment so small it should not have mattered. A mother, overwhelmed, turns away when we cry. A father, distracted, fails to notice our need. A sibling takes up all the attention, and for a moment, we do not feel chosen . For others, it is far more extreme. A parent who abandons us. A mother who withholds love, making us earn it. A father who dies too soon, leaving a void we will spend our lives trying to fill. Abuse. Neglect. Loss. But whether our wound was a single moment or a lifetime of hurt, the message in these moments is always the same: I am not enough. I do not deserve love. I must prove my worth. Something is wrong with me. I do not deserve love. And so, we repeat it . That belief shaped us. It became our foundation. It became the lens through which we saw the world. Every lover, every friend, every person who has ever left us— they were all pressing on the same wound . This is in our blueprint. Our subconscious will attract the same pain, over and over, until we finally see it for what it is. And so then, of course, we found the ultimate someone who would confirm it. Of course, we found a love that was the most intense, beautiful, and ultimately unavailable. Of course, we met someone who would leave. Because that is the shape of our wound. And instead of facing it, we call it fate . We cling to the twin flame label, waiting for divine timing, hoping for fate to intervene once again—it’s all a way to avoid facing the pain of rejection. It’s easier to believe in the magic of reunion than to feel the full depth of being unwanted. We convince ourselves that the pain means something. That if we just wait long enough, do enough inner work, heal enough, they will return. We lie to ourselves. Because the truth is unbearable. I know what you're thinking now. Oh yes, I know this, I've healed this. But you are wrong. Your mind is telling you stories (it likes to do that - start paying attention). If you are here. If your twin is not with you. If they are with you but things feel difficult. Then you have not healed this wound . As within, so without. Our reality will always reflect the truth. If you are still here, still waiting, still longing, still feeling unchosen, then I repeat— you have not healed this wound. Because when you do, your reality will change. The Cost of Waiting Yes, healing may change everything. It may shift your energy, alter your reality, even bring them back. But what if it takes a lifetime? What if it doesn’t happen at all? Are you willing to put your life on hold for the chance that they might return? Are you willing to wait years, decades, forever—just to see if one day they wake up and choose you? And here’s an even bigger question: What if, once you heal, they no longer seem appealing? What if this connection, which has felt like the axis of your entire world, is only powerful because of the wound it pressed on? What if they were never meant to be yours , but rather, the catalyst for your deepest transformation? Let go of the label. Let go of the idea that their return is the happy ending to your story. The only thing that matters is you . Your healing. Your life. Because whether or not they ever come back, you deserve to be happy. The Wound We Must Face This person has pressed on your wound like a bear pawing at an open cut. It’s broken you apart in the worst way. And yet, maybe that was the point. Because your worth was never tied to them. It was never about being chosen. Your worth exists because you were born . You deserve to be loved. You deserve to be chosen. Just because you are. There Is No Choice But to Let Go This is not about choosing yourself. This is not about doing the work in the hopes of bringing them back. This is about seeing what is already true. They are not here. They do not love you the way you love them. They are not waiting for you. They are living their life. And if you are still waiting, still longing, still hoping— you are choosing to suffer. Holding on is not devotion. It is self-inflicted misery. We must stop looking for meaning in our own rejection. We must stop pretending that waiting is a noble path. We must stop using the twin flame label as an excuse to avoid the pain of loss. This is not a pause in the story. There is no next chapter with them. It is over. They haven't chosen us and we have to let them leave. We have no choice but to accept it. The Only Way Forward Letting go does not mean giving up on love. It does not mean settling for less. It does not mean abandoning the depth of what we felt. It means trusting that this ending is for a reason. We were not meant to be with them. We were meant to heal. We were meant to live. And when we do that—when we truly stop waiting, when we release the grip we have on the past, when we grieve fully and let go— life opens up again. Maybe that means finding a love that is real, present, and available. Maybe that means rediscovering joy in life without needing another person to complete it. Maybe that means simply waking up one day and realising we are finally free. But one thing is certain: The pain will only end when we stop choosing it. Let them go. Trust that this is over. And start living again. Further Thoughts: What Do You Actually Want? Stop for a moment. Strip away the twin flame label. Strip away the spiritual rhetoric. Forget everything you've read, everything you've convinced yourself this journey means. Now ask yourself: What do you actually want out of life? What if you had to make a choice? An unknown future where they might come back if you heal, or a life of joy right now —with someone who chooses you, someone you can heal alongside? What if holding on is keeping you from the love that is already available to you? We tell ourselves this connection is rare. That it’s set apart. That we are different from other people because of what we’ve experienced. And maybe that’s true. But if it is, it’s only because we chose an unbelievably hard life to heal from. Our wounds have been screaming for attention since childhood. Every painful moment, every heartbreak, every time we felt abandoned—it’s been the same wound, playing on repeat. And yes, maybe healing it does unlock something incredible. Maybe the twin flame union is the most magical, extraordinary relationship that has ever existed. But right now, it isn’t here. Which makes you no different than Millie down the road who broke up with her first love (who was a wanker by the way) and is still obsessed years later, convinced she’ll never love again. You are the same. Your wound is the same. The rejection is the same. The only difference is the story you’re telling yourself about it. And here’s the part no one wants to admit— playing the victim gets us nowhere. We all do it. I’ve done it. You’ve done it. I'm still doing it: Oh, poor me. My life is so hard. This connection is special, so rare, so true, so magical. How can I possibly let it go? God wouldn't want that? Why oh why is this happening to me? It's so unfair. So lonely. So impossible. Boo hoo hoo. It’s all bullshit. It ’s bypassing. We are where we are. And we have no choice but to accept it. We have to let go of the past —the way we saw it, the way we wanted it to be, the way we think it should have played out. Because it didn’t. We have to let go of the future—the way we envision it, the way we hope it will be, the way we believe it’s meant to unfold. Because right now, it isn’t. And don’t you see? We are all healing the same wound. We are all bringing an end to the same story. And what happens next? We don’t know. Maybe your twin comes running back and it’s everything you imagined. Maybe you meet someone new, and one day, you look at them and think, thank god I let go. And maybe, years from now, you’re happily married with kids, looking back on this moment, saying: "Thank goodness I made that choice. Thank goodness I stopped waiting. Thank goodness I chose to live." Because in the end, that’s what this is really about. Choosing to live. 💗 Free Twin Flame Resources If you'd like to explore this journey more deeply, I’ve written a series of essays to help you navigate the big questions that arise - and to support you as you begin the inner work this path asks of you. - Should I tell them we are Twin Flames?
Expressing Your Truth to Your Twin Flame Before diving into the question of should you tell your twin flame that you believe they are your twin, first ask yourself: Why? What is your intention in sharing this? What do you hope will happen if you do? Are you looking for confirmation? Hoping it will bring clarity or move things forward? Do you feel you’re holding onto a truth that needs to be spoken for your own sense of integrity? Or are you holding back from telling them from a place of fear - fear of losing them, fear of being misunderstood, or fear of rejection? This journey teaches us that every step we take brings us face-to-face with ourselves. Your twin is your mirror, so how you approach this conversation, and how they respond, will reflect something back to you about where you are in your own process. Here are some questions to help you reflect: Why do you feel the need to tell them? Is it because you feel you’re keeping a secret? Is it because you think they might feel the same way? Is it because you hope it will change something between you? What are you hoping for as a result? A deepening of your connection? Understanding and validation? A sense of relief that you’ve spoken your truth? Are you emotionally prepared for any response? What if they don’t understand or believe in twin flames? What if they reject the idea or react negatively? Would you still feel at peace knowing you spoke your truth? What does your intuition say? Do you feel truly called to share this, or is it coming from a place of anxiety? Does your heart feel open and expansive when you think about telling them, or tight and fearful? Something to note: This is your journey. My experience and my guidance may be different from yours. This post is based on my experience based on how I was guided. Trust your own guidance. Pay attention to what your heart is saying and then balance that with the mind. Should I tell them we are twin flames? An important thing to remember: If you decide to tell them, the response you receive will be the response you need for your own journey and your own growth. The key to making this decision is to tap into your inner wisdom and follow what your heart and soul are guiding you to do. This path demands that we step outside our comfort zones, embracing the challenges that push us toward our authentic selves. If you feel as though you are keeping a secret or avoiding a deeper truth, ask yourself: Is that truly being honest with yourself? Are you holding back out of fear? How can a relationship - especially one as profound as this - be built on anything but honesty? The outcome may not unfold as you wish, but it will always be what you need. It will reflect exactly where you are in your journey. When you make choices based on what is right for you - rather than trying to control the reaction of another - you will find peace in whatever unfolds. I understand the fear. Revealing your true feelings can be terrifying, especially when you don’t know if they will be reciprocated or even understood. The twin flame experience itself can feel too overwhelming to articulate. But how can things evolve if you ignore what your soul is urging you to express? Let go of the fear that your journey will unfold in the same way as someone else’s. There are a lot of different experiences out there and lots of people have strong opinions. Your journey will unfold in a way that is right for you and your journey reflects your unique past experience, and the lessons you are here to learn. This is your path, and only you can determine what feels right. Your twin is a mirror, reflecting your wounds, your fears, and your inner world. If they react negatively, they are showing you what still needs healing within yourself. Hiding your truth means hiding from who you are - preventing both of you from growing. This journey is not for the faint of heart. It is challenging, uncomfortable, and often painful. But it is worth it. This moment is a turning point in your journey. Keep the bigger picture in mind - this is a spiritual awakening, a path you have designed for your own growth. Everything that happens holds meaning and purpose, and there are no right or wrong choices. You are the one steering your ship. Things shift as you do the work. You are exactly where you need to be, and all the wisdom you seek is already within you. Trust yourself, listen deeply, and you will find your way - even when the path is difficult. 💗 A note on AI & my writing: I use ChatGPT as a writing assistant—not as a writer. - Astrology and Happiness
My 21-year-old son told me recently he wasn't feeling happy and had considered going to the doctor to talk about medication. He broached the topic somewhat reluctantly, knowing my feelings about pills that plaster over deeper causes without addressing the root of the problem. His question stayed with me: what is happiness, and how do we find it? The pursuit of happiness confounds philosophers, psychologists, and spiritual teachers alike. But as far as I can tell, it's a modern phenomenon, this idea that we should be happy, and if we're not, something's wrong with us. We're told to do what makes us happy, be with who makes us happy, focus on what makes us happy. But do we even know what that is? Is what we're sold as happiness actually happiness at all? I watched a film recently called Hector and the Search for Happiness , which follows one man's journey to find that elusive thing. What he learns is mostly what happiness isn't, which rather emphasises how confusing this arena proves to be when you start looking for answers. The film stayed with me as I considered my son's question, circling around something I couldn't quite get a handle on. But this is an essay about astrology. So what of it? How does it relate to happiness? Our birth chart can tell us something about happiness and how good we may be (or not be) at being happy. There are certainly some signs who are inherently happier than others, and Gods who bestow happiness (or not) depending on how they're placed in the chart. What's more interesting, though, is whether astrology and an understanding of astrology can assist in us being happy. I studied traditional astrology, which aligned with the nature of thought at the time it was being practised. The time of the Stoics, who believed we should accept what is and trust that all that is, is meant and fated. We can't change our fate, but we can change how we respond to it. And how we respond to our fate has a lot to do with how happy we feel. Astrologers have a saying: something can be 'astrology good' even if the experience itself is actually quite difficult. When we observe how perfectly an experience mirrors the movements of the Gods and the conversations they're having, it reminds us how perfect everything is. How perfectly planned. How majestic and wondrous this world of ours is, how intricate the design must be for things to play out as they do. Let me give you a small example. I was out walking the dog the other day and it was dark, cold, and wet. As walks go, it wasn't the kind to lift the spirits and revitalise the joy of life. It was more like a dampener. As I approached the path that would take me back to my house, I was already feeling a bit sorry for myself, edging towards a shitty mood and berating myself for not getting out earlier in the day when it wouldn't have been nearly so miserable. Then something happened that could have made me feel a lot worse. As I walked down the narrow path that leads into the estate where my house resides, a cyclist approached. Since I was already on the path, I presumed he'd stop (he shouldn't really be on the path in the first place) but instead he came straight at me (and my little dog) at speed, causing me to launch myself out of the way. As he passed he spat, "Get out of the fucking way." We were lucky. Neither I nor my little dog were hurt. But we could have been, and I flashed with indignant anger at the thought that I could have been an elderly person incapable of launching myself out of the way of this horrible, inconsiderate man. How dare he! It was in this moment that astrology came to the rescue. I immediately pictured the chart of the moment and remembered that Mars, God of aggression and conflict, and Mercury, God of short journeys and motion (I could argue that Mercury is actually God of bicycles - jump to that little ponder below ), were together in Sagittarius. When these Gods get together, their energies are amplified. Sagittarius can be a bit self-righteous, justice is a topic associated with Jupiter, ruler of Sagittarius, and I'm pretty sure we both felt justified in that moment. The horrible man's reaction certainly didn't suggest he felt he was in the wrong. Then I recalled that Sagittarius is my 3rd house, the place in my chart which speaks to my local neighbourhood. So this incident was a perfect reflection of the astrology at hand and how it could manifest for me. Whilst the moment itself may have been difficult, it was an 'astrology good' moment. And immediately I chuckled. All of a sudden my miserable, sodden walk felt better. I felt better. Ridiculously cheered, actually. Because I'd just learned something else about the nature of the Gods, and The Universe had demonstrated it to me wonderfully. Now I appreciate this was a little moment. Would I have reacted with cheer if I'd been injured, or if my dog had been harmed? Probably not in the moment. But perhaps in time, when we'd both healed and it had become a story to recount, if I happened to look at that difficult moment and what was happening in the sky at the time, I'd have found the same appreciation for the majesty of the design. How perfectly everything is planned. Perhaps that incident would have meant I got to know the handsome vet who looked after my poor injured dog, and we'd have fallen in love over the X-rays. I'd look back on that moment with gratitude because it had brought me to him and a love I hadn't known was possible... But astrology doesn't just offer comfort when things go awry. It can also invite us to dance with the available energies, to actively embrace what The Gods are offering and bring more beauty into our lives. Yesterday, Venus in Scorpio formed a trine with Jupiter in Cancer. This is the signature of expansive love, of luck, of miracles. Universal truth (Jupiter) meeting love (Venus) in harmonious conversation. It's the perfect energy for romancing yourself, and for seeking out experiences that remind you what's possible when you lift your gaze. With this in mind, I woke earlier than usual to a frosty morning. When I opened the door to let the dog out, the stars were still shining bright. Rather than my usual stroll around the park, I decided to walk a few minutes further to the beach, to take in the morning sea and sky. The scene was stunning. The sun was coming up, casting an orange glow across the sky and water, and there was mist rising from the sea, making everything look dreamy and romantic. Exmouth Beach at Sunrise on the 26th of November 2025 - Venus Trine Jupiter Breathtaking. And if I hadn't had the astrology in mind, if I hadn't decided to embrace what was being offered, I wouldn't have been there. I'd have stayed in bed, pulled the covers over my head, waited for a more civilised hour. I'd have missed it entirely, that pocket of wonder, that gift of beauty, available to anyone willing to meet it. Life is full of moments. Pockets of time. Some are "good" and some are "bad". Our days are filled with "good" and "bad" experiences which we live through, which make up our grander stories and arcs. The soundtrack to our life is a myriad of happy and sad songs. Lots of it is dull. Time passes us by with alarming speed. But astrology gives us the gift of perspective, a way to view the moments that pattern our days with meaning and purpose. There's lots of recent evidence to suggest that the more we focus on what's good and joyful in our lives, the more grateful we are for those moments, the more of them we notice and experience. Our happiness increases. There's always both, you see. We live in a world of contrast. Our chart has good and bad planets and points to good and bad experiences. But what if we took the perspective that nothing is either good or bad? It's just life. And we're here to live it. To walk through our own unique story with the highs and lows that it offers. We can't control what's happening to us, but we can control how we respond to it. Which brings me back to the film. At the end, a psychologist maps Hector's brain and calls him a master when he's able to feel the joy and the pain, the happiness and the sadness, in a singular moment. True happiness isn't just one emotion; it's all of them. Can we feel happy without the sad? Can we find the joy in all the small moments and notice them when they arrive, each time they arrive, and be grateful for them? Astrology can help with that. It teaches us that all our experiences are needed, all are wanted. I'd even go as far as to say all are desired and can be welcomed. They make up the story of our life. And all of life is a gift. Time is short. Life is short. Aren't we fortunate to be able to experience it? Fancy more of a ponder? Mercury: God of Bicycles Thesis: If Mercury isn’t officially the God of bicycles, He is certainly their patron; the quiet force behind every moment you hop on two wheels and trust your body to balance, move, and think on its feet. And there is a good reason for that. Mercury is The God of motion. Swift feet, swift mind; messenger of The Gods; patron of travellers, thinkers, merchants, and anyone who needs to get somewhere quickly without losing their head. Mercury governs pathways and crossroads; the places where decisions are made; the places where it’s easy to veer off if you aren’t paying attention. A bicycle is simply one of the modern expressions of Mercury's favourite thing: movement that requires presence. There’s also something deliciously mischievous about bicycles; they rely on balance, but only once you’re actually going somewhere. If you sit still, you topple. If you move, you stabilise. It’s very Mercury; the reminder that clarity comes through motion, not before it. When life feels stuck, you pedal; when your mind spirals, you pedal; when something needs unknotting, you take a ride and let the wind do half the work. Mercury understands this; Mercury speaks through it. And then there is the playfulness. The freedom. The way a bicycle returns you, even briefly, to your childhood self. That version of you who zig-zagged down the street without worrying who was watching. Lightness is Mercury’s favourite language; bicycles speak it fluently. So is Mercury The God of bicycles? Not by ancient decree; but by lived experience, absolutely. Because every time you trust your balance; every time your thoughts untangle on a gentle ride; every time a quiet idea drops in while the world passes by under your wheels; you’re speaking with Mercury. Mercury is the whisper in your ear saying: Keep moving. The path reveals itself as you go. 🚲 Learn more about my readings. - The Snail and the Whale: Adventures and Conscious Transformation for Sagittarius Season
By Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler When my daughter was small, we read together every night, and the Snail and the Whale were frequent companions on her journey from awake, to asleep. We read it so often that both of us could recite it word for word... 'The Snail and the Whale' is a 2003 children’s picture book written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler. The story follows a sea snail who longs to see the world and hitches a ride on the tail of a humpback whale. Together, they embark on a journey across the ocean, encountering various creatures and sights along the way. However, when the whale becomes beached in a bay, it’s up to the tiny snail to save the day. What does this have to do with astrology? Stories, in whatever form (myths, fairy tales, children's books...), serve as mirrors reflecting elements of the human experience. They provide narratives that we can relate to, offering lessons, insights, and a shared understanding of the world. This is also the case with the archetypal motifs and symbols found in astrology. Archetypal Journeys: The journey of the Snail and the Whale in the story is an archetypal one, a common motif in many myths and narratives. Astrology offers a framework and a map for the archetypal journey's (the cycles we loop through) as we walk the path of our lives. The archetypal symbolism provides a backdrop upon which we can understand our experiences, and apply that understanding to enable our personal growth and transformation. Individual Pathways: Each character in a story, like each individual in astrology, has a unique path and purpose. The Snail and the Whale each embark on an adventure that is distinctly their own, just as individuals navigate their lives as described in the map dictated by their birth chart. Facing Challenges: In 'The Snail and the Whale', the characters encounter challenges during their journey. Similarly, astrology acknowledges that life is filled with ups and downs, dark and light, symbolised by the positions of the Gods and the nature of the Gods themselves. The challenges faced by the characters in the story and those reflected in astrological charts, remind us that difficulties are a natural, and essential, part of our personal narratives. Without the challenge we wouldn't be able to change and grow. Learning and Growth: Adventures in stories often involve learning and growth, and astrology mirrors this concept by emphasising personal development. The characters in a story evolve through their experiences, just as individuals grow and learn through the challenges and opportunities presented by their astrological configurations. Universal Themes: Both stories and astrology tap into universal themes and archetypes that resonate across cultures and time periods. The journey of self-discovery, the pursuit of dreams, and the understanding of one's place in the world are themes that transcend individual stories and astrological charts. Narrative as a Tool for Understanding: Stories provide a narrative structure that helps us make sense of our experiences. Astrology, with its symbols and archetypes, similarly offers a narrative framework for understanding the patterns and themes in our lives. Both can be seen as tools for making meaning out of our individual and collective journeys. In summary, stories like 'The Snail and the Whale' offer us a reflection of our own experiences, providing a narrative through which we can understand and relate to the complexities of life. Similarly, astrology offers a symbolic framework that helps us interpret our unique journeys, connecting us to the broader tapestry of human experience. Both storytelling and astrology share a common thread in their ability to illuminate, inspire, and guide us on our individual quests for meaning and understanding. Astrology can help change how we see ourselves and our experiences, and can help us to understand others. What is Sagittarius Season? In the vast tapestry of the cosmos, The Sun takes its annual journey through the zodiac, casting its radiant light on the various facets of our lives. As The Sun forges His brilliance through each zodiac sign, our life journey reflects the themes and characteristics that The Sun in each sign represents, providing a lens through which we perceive the world. As we enter Sagittarius season, the cosmic stage is set for a dynamic and adventurous period. Governed by the benevolent planet Jupiter, Sagittarius embodies the spirit of exploration, knowledge, and expansion. In the Hellenistic tradition, The Sun's journey through Sagittarius from late November to mid-December marks a time when the celestial energies align with the ideals of this fire sign. Sagittarius , the Archer, symbolizes the perpetual seeker, aiming its arrow toward the vast horizons of intellectual and experiential discovery. During Sagittarius season, The Sun finds its fiery domicile in this adventurous sign, amplifying qualities associated with optimism, enthusiasm, and a hunger for higher truths. As The Sun traverses this expansive territory, it encourages us to embark on intellectual journeys, embrace new perspectives, and seek wisdom that broadens our understanding of the world. The cosmic energies prompt us to venture beyond our comfort zones, engaging in activities that stimulate personal growth and awareness. This is a time to tap into the Archer's bold spirit, exploring uncharted territories of the mind and spirit. Whether it's through travel, education, or philosophical contemplation, Sagittarius season beckons us to set our sights on the horizon, reminding us that the journey itself holds profound lessons and transformations. We are invited to expand our consciousness and embark on a quest for knowledge that aligns with the highest universal truth and wisdom. How does 'The Snail and the Whale' help us understand Sagittarius season, and how we're being given the opportunity by the current cosmic tone, to work consciously to transform into our best selves? The Snail and the Whale: The Journey 'The Snail and the Whale' captures the essence of an extraordinary journey, both outward and inward. As we delve into the cosmic symbolism of Jupiter and the sign of Sagittarius in astrology, we find parallels between the Snail's grand adventure and the transformative journeys of consciousness that each of us embarks upon throughout our life's journey's. The story unfolds with a tiny Snail, with an ' itchy foot ', who, unlike the rest of the flock, yearns for adventure beyond the limitations of her tiny world. ' The sea is deep and the world is wide ' and the tiny Snail longs to explore it. The Snail embodies the Sagittarian spirit: she is an adventurer who longs for freedom from the confines of her situation. She's hit with (divine, Jupiterian?) inspiration and writes in a ' silvery trail ', Teaming up with a kind-hearted, benevolent Whale who invites her to sail with him, they set off on an epic voyage, ' to towering icebergs and far off lands, with fiery mountains and golden sands '. This desire to adventure and explore the unknown beyond, is symbolised in astrology by the expansive, adventurous, freedom seeking nature of Sagittarius , ruled by the mighty Jupiter. Just as the Snail gazes, amazed and in awe at the vastness of ' the sky, sea, the land. The waves and the caves and the golden sand ', we too can embark on a quest to explore and in doing so expand our awareness beyond the confines of our every day and our current level of consciousness. No journey worth taking is without challenge, “The key to life is accepting challenges. Once someone stops doing this, he's dead.” ― Bette Davis and the Snail and the Whale's journey is no exception. There ' came the day, the Whale lost his way ' and swum ' too close to the shore ' as the tide slipped away, leaving ' the whale... beached in a bay '. Just as the Whale found himself beached in a perilous situation, we, too, will encounter unresolved issues and daunting challenges on our adventures. Here's how the Sagittarian spirit might be utilised to help us see the bigger picture and tap into our inner knowing during challenging times: Optimism and Positivity: Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, and both are associated with optimism, enthusiasm, and a positive outlook on life. When facing challenges, individuals with a strong Sagittarius or Jupiter influence in their charts may naturally approach difficulties with a hopeful attitude, believing in their ability to overcome obstacles. Broad Perspective: Sagittarius is linked to the concept of expansion and a broad perspective. People with a significant Sagittarian influence might be more inclined to see challenges as opportunities for personal growth and learning. They may naturally look beyond the immediate struggle and focus on the broader picture, understanding that challenges are part of a larger journey. Inner Knowing and Intuition: Astrology often involves a connection to one's inner self and intuition. Individuals with a strong Sagittarius or Jupiter influence may find that tapping into their inner knowing helps them navigate challenges. Trusting in their instincts and having faith in the journey can provide a source of strength and resilience. Faith and Inspiration: Jupiter is associated with faith and inspiration. During challenging times, individuals influenced by Sagittarius or Jupiter may find strength in their beliefs and a sense of purpose. Whether through religious or spiritual practices or a philosophical outlook, having a source of inspiration can be a powerful motivator. Adaptability: Sagittarius is a mutable sign, suggesting adaptability and a willingness to go with the flow. When facing challenges, those with a strong Sagittarian influence might find it easier to adapt to changing circumstances and find alternative solutions. This adaptability contributes to resilience in the face of adversity. How did the Snail foster her Sagittarian spirit to rise to the challenge she faced? Though she ' felt helpless and terribly small ' she once again was struck by (divine, Jupiterian?) inspiration and crawled into the school to leave another message with her ' silvery trail ', this time saying, And with her message the Snail saved the day, by sending the children, who went running from school, to fetch the fireman and dig a pool, to keep the Whale cool till the tide came into the bay, and allowed the Whale and the Snail to travel safely away. " Hooray! " What of adventure? The thirst for adventure, whether that's expressed outwardly into the world, or into the vastness of our unknown inner territory, like the Snail's itch to explore, is inherent in all of us whether we are consciously aware of it or not. We might relate more to the flock that are satisfied with the smooth black rock, but in Sagittarius season this thirst to explore and expand will grab us, whether we choose to embrace it consciously, or not. Astrology teaches us that we carry the cosmos within ourselves; we are the microcosm of the macrocosm. We have the entire Universe within us, as demonstrated by the fact that we are made up of all the signs of the zodiac and all the Gods in the sky. Jupiter is the divine aspect of our selves that is focused on a higher truth, and the big picture perspective gained through learning and expanding our knowledge, mirroring the Snail's pull towards adventure. We are at once, the flock that are resistant to change, the Snail who is driven to expand and the Whale (Jupiter) as the aspect that can lead us into that expansion. Just as the Whale found itself beached in a perilous situation and the Snail was given the difficult task of resolving that situation, we too will encounter unresolved issues and daunting challenges. However, the story reminds us that, like the Snail and the Whale, we have the capacity to overcome adversity, learn from our experiences, and emerge stronger... The Snail and the Whale went back to the dock and the flock on the rock, who said, ' haven't you grown! ' And the Whale and the Snail Told their wonderful tale. Of shimmering ice and coral caves, And shooting stars and enormous waves. And of how the Snail, so small and frail, With her looping, curling, silvery trail, Saved the life of the humpback Whale. Inspiring Snail, after Snail, after Snail, after Snail to crawl onto the tail of the humpback Whale and begin their own unique journey of adventure and growth by venturing into their unknown territories (both inner and outer). 'The Snail and the Whale' invites us to recognize that our inner and outer world's are as vast and awe-inspiring as the cosmos. By embracing the transformative power of adventures, we can navigate the storms within and without, discover hidden realms, and, like the snail returning to the flock on the rock, share the stories of our personal evolution with the world. As we journey, we uncover the truth that we are, indeed, the great unknown waiting to be explored. What can embracing the spirit of the Sagittarius do for us? Fostering the Sagittarian spirit of freedom, questing, and adventuring can have positive effects on personal growth and transformation. Sagittarius is associated with qualities such as exploration, expansion, and a love for knowledge and adventure. Here's how embracing these qualities can support personal transformation: Broadening Perspectives: Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of expansion and growth. Embracing the Sagittarian spirit encourages you to explore different perspectives, cultures, and ideas. This broadens your understanding of the world and helps you develop a more open-minded and inclusive mindset. Freedom and Independence: The Sagittarian spirit values freedom and independence. Engaging in activities that allow you to break free from limitations or restrictive patterns can empower you to discover your true self. This pursuit of freedom can lead to personal liberation and self-discovery. Quest for Knowledge: Sagittarius is associated with the love of learning and a quest for knowledge. Embracing this spirit encourages continuous learning and intellectual growth. Pursuing education, whether formal or informal, can lead to personal development and the acquisition of valuable skills. Adventuring and Risk-Taking: Taking calculated risks and embracing challenges is a fundamental aspect of the Sagittarian spirit. Stepping out of your comfort zone, facing uncertainties, and embracing adventure can help you overcome fears, build resilience, and develop a more courageous and confident mindset. Transformative Experiences: The questing nature of Sagittarius often involves seeking transformative experiences. Engaging in activities that push your boundaries and challenge your preconceptions can lead to personal growth and transformation. These experiences may include travel, trying new things, or taking on new responsibilities. Spiritual Exploration: Sagittarius is often associated with spirituality and the search for meaning. Fostering the Sagittarian spirit may involve exploring your spiritual beliefs, practices, and understanding your place in the universe. This spiritual quest can lead to inner transformation and a deeper connection with yourself and the world. Why should we transform? It should be noted that we do not have to change ourselves. We are perfect and deserving of everything that life has to offer exactly as we are . We are exactly where we should be. The first step in any journey of transformation is to be where we are and accept where we are - we can't begin to change until we know what it is about ourselves that is currently limiting us or holding us back. To let go and make way for the new, first we need to know what we want to let go of. That said, while transformation is a natural and ongoing process in life, here are some reasons why conscious and intentional personal transformation is valuable: Adaptation to Change: Life is dynamic and constantly changing. Transforming allows you to adapt to new circumstances, challenges, and opportunities more effectively. Self-Discovery and Fulfilment: Personal transformation often involves self-discovery, understanding your values, passions, and purpose. This self-awareness contributes to a more fulfilling and meaningful life. Resilience and Coping Skills: Transformation can enhance your ability to cope with challenges and setbacks. Developing resilience is crucial for maintaining mental and emotional well-being. Improved Relationships: Personal growth often positively impacts your relationships. As you transform, you may develop better communication skills, empathy, and a deeper understanding of others. Continuous Learning: Life is a journey of learning and growth. Embracing transformation keeps you engaged in the process of continuous learning, contributing to a more enriched and dynamic life. Alignment with Authentic Self: Transformation allows you to align more closely with your authentic self. Living authentically brings a sense of fulfilment and inner harmony. In summary, fostering the Sagittarian spirit supports personal transformation by encouraging exploration, freedom, and a quest for knowledge and adventure. Personal transformation, in turn, is valuable for adapting to life's changes, discovering one's authentic self, and leading a more fulfilling and resilient life. What does this mean for us? And how can we work with the solar energy over the next few weeks to further our self work and step into more authentic and integrated versions of ourselves? Sagittarius Sagittarius is the double-bodied, yang, fire temple of Jupiter, depicted in the heavens as the Bowman or Centaur - that curious creature, half wild beast and half reasoning man. This image alone speaks volumes about the nature of this sign: it is a place where the animal and the divine meet, where instinct and intellect wrestle for dominance, and where the arrow of aspiration is forever pointed towards some distant, glimmering truth. As Jupiter's domicile, Sagittarius carries the expansive, benefic qualities of the Greater Fortune, yet it does so within the context of late autumn's darkness. During this portion of the year, the dominance of night persists and deepens. The light continues to wane, and the world draws further into shadow. Yet within this darkness, something remarkable is stirring. By the end of Sagittarius, as the Winter Solstice approaches, the lightening of the dark will commence. The tide is about to turn. It is the darkest hour before dawn, and Sagittarius knows this instinctively. This seasonal context helps us understand the paradoxical nature of the sign. In the depths of gathering darkness, where one might expect despair, we instead find hedonism, rebellion, and even nihilism - a wild, untamed response to the dying of the light. There is something of the reckless reveller here, the one who drinks deeply because tomorrow the sun may not rise. Yet alongside this wildness lives its opposite: redemption, hope, and optimism. For Sagittarius senses that the darkness will not last forever, that beyond this long night, the light will return. The Centaur is not merely running from death; he is running towards something - towards meaning, towards truth, towards salvation itself. This is why Sagittarius is so intimately connected with wisdom, enthusiasm, and adventure. The Centaur does not wait passively for redemption; he seeks it actively, hunts it down like prey. His arrow flies not only across physical distances but across philosophical ones. He is the eternal student, the pilgrim, the seeker of higher understanding. Jupiter bestows upon this sign an insatiable hunger for meaning, for growth, for expansion beyond the known boundaries. Where others might see only darkness, Sagittarius sees a vast, unexplored territory ripe for discovery. Yet this is also a sign of battle, competition, and the struggle for salvation. The Centaur is, after all, an archer - a warrior figure. There is combativeness here, a fighting spirit that refuses to surrender to meaninglessness or despair. Sagittarius will compete for truth, will battle for belief, will wage war against the forces of cynicism and small-mindedness. This is Jupiter's martial aspect, the benevolent warrior who fights for a cause, for a vision of something better. The double-bodied nature of Sagittarius - shared with Gemini and Pisces - speaks to its inherent duality and mutability. There is always this sense of being pulled in two directions: towards the base and towards the sublime, towards reckless abandon and towards redemptive purpose. The beast wants to run wild through the forest; the man wants to reach the stars. And perhaps the lesson of Sagittarius is that both are necessary, that wisdom cannot be found without the willingness to be foolish, that higher understanding requires the courage to descend into darkness first, that salvation is meaningless without something to be saved from. In Sagittarius, we find the raw materials for transformation: the darkness that precedes the return of light, the wildness that must be integrated before true wisdom can emerge, the optimism that refuses to be extinguished even in the longest night. Here is where faith is tested and proven, where meaning is not given but earned through the adventure of seeking it. The Centaur gallops through the temple of Jupiter with his arrow nocked, half-wild and half-divine, eternally aiming at something just beyond the horizon. Something he may never fully reach, but which gives his journey purpose nonetheless. The Sagittarius Sun Just as the Sun is at the centre of our solar system, our Sun placement is the heart of the birth chart, with all the other Gods in service to the process of self-development and creative fulfilment that it represents. The Sun in our chart describes our core sense of identity and the journey we undertake over the course of life, His position in our chart shines a light on our central storyline. There is a sense of quest with the Sun, at the end of which we eventually come home to ourselves. Where do you shine in the world? A Sagittarius Sun represents a journey of boundless exploration, a quest for higher truth, and the desire to inspire and be inspired. This placement reveals a core identity shaped by a need for freedom, meaning, and adventure - both within and without. At the heart of the birth chart, the Sagittarius Sun becomes the guiding light, casting warmth and illumination on a life driven by optimism, idealism, and the pursuit of wisdom. Core Identity and the Solar Quest: The Sagittarius Sun centres its identity on growth and discovery. Much like its ruling planet Jupiter, it expands and seeks new horizons, often asking: What more is out there? What is my purpose in the grand scheme of things? This search for meaning often defines their central life storyline. Their quest is not linear but rather a series of journeys, each one bringing them closer to understanding themselves and the world. The Sagittarian archetype of the Bowman points to this constant striving. The arrow they shoot represents their hopes and dreams, always aimed at distant goals, never settling for the mundane. For a Sagittarius Sun, life is a quest of aiming high, sometimes missing the mark, but always moving forward with an insatiable hunger for what lies ahead. The Journey to Self-Development: Sagittarius Suns shine through their ability to inspire others with their enthusiasm, philosophical insights, and unyielding faith in life’s possibilities. Their journey is about reconciling two aspects of their nature: The Wild and Untamed : A love for freedom, spontaneity, and the thrill of the unknown. The Higher Minded : A yearning to connect with universal truths, to teach, guide, and leave a lasting impact. This duality drives their creative fulfilment. The Sagittarius Sun individual may feel torn between indulging in worldly pleasures and committing to a higher purpose, but both paths enrich their self-understanding. Sagittarius’ Light in the World: Sagittarius Suns often shine in roles that allow them to expand their horizons and share their knowledge. They may thrive as teachers, philosophers, adventurers, or artists who inspire others to dream big. Their light is brightest when they are authentic, optimistic, and bold enough to pursue their own truth while encouraging others to do the same. At the end of their solar quest, Sagittarius Suns come home to themselves by realising that the journey itself is the destination . They find their fulfilment not in arriving but in continually moving forward, embracing life’s ups and downs with hope and wisdom. They are the storytellers, the wanderers, and the seekers who remind us that life is an adventure to be embraced with an open heart .
